We're going Edmonton Oilers goalie Cal Pickard, as he's projected to get the start in Game 4 against the Vancouver Canucks, replacing Stuart Skinner.

Regardless of who is in net for Edmonton, the Canucks need to get more shots on net and stay the hell out of the box.

but like thats not how they play the game they play with calculated shots and try to have every shot be high danger instead of just tossing it at the net thats why after last game oilers and canucks had basically the same amount of high danger chances yet the oilers had double the shots and once van getsthe lead they buckel down and stop goals not really going for goals unless they see a high danger chance so thats why for most of their games they had low shots

Only reason why Skinner did well during that win streak was because the Oilers played solid defense. They made it really easy on him. You do not see the whole picture because I doubt you watched the games during that win streak

That's setting the bar pretty low. Part of the problem is that the Oilers are not very good defensively either. Playing better than Skinner might not be good enough. He needs to be good.

It's actually the perfect time to do it. If Pickard shits the bed they can go back to Stewy. If they drop this one with Stewy and THE go to Pickard, it's too much to ask. If somehow (doubt it, but it could happen, in the playoffs it's not called playoffs, it's called "goalie") Pickard stands on his head and stones the Canucks, then they'll be riding high. Hey - Nucks are loving the underdog role with their 23 year old tendy, why not turn the tables and give this a try. I don't think it will make much difference overall. Canucks are underrated and have a good shot of closing this in 6. If they win tonight, obviously. If Oil win it's a new 3 game series.

Crazy storyline. Vancouver beats Edmonton is all regular season games, yet are the heavy underdogs with the bookies. Vancouver’s 3rd string goalie is legend, and now desperate Edmonton coaches saying “worked for a Vancouver 🤷🏻‍♂️?…”. Not so much an experiment, as a desperate measure.

The difference is style in front of goaltending. Canucks have scored at a 333 % most of the year. Not surprised this is the Oilers problem

Pickard played 20 games in the regular season after Knobloauch. And he played 4 games against playoff teams. But those 4 teams also happen to be top 5 teams too. His GAA is 4.25. With 87% save percent.

Skinner, Campbell, Pickard. I have been a huge critic of ken Holland since day one. Guy is all rep, 0 talent. For my money, the only move of his I approve is the Eckholm deal. Everything else, trash. even this trade deadline... Henrique? WHY? That's not what your team needs at all.... The Nurse Soucy pair is laughable and you can't afford that with your trio of keepers being unreliable. Move on from Holland fast before Draisatl starts looking elsewhere, because McJesus might follow. I called that McDavid should've never signed in Edmonton because team management would prevent him from winning a cup.... tik tok.

@user-xr7oi1zc3v right! This year's playoffs so far, everyone (except Vancouver fans) had counted the canucks out due to the third string net minder being in. Silovs has been pretty darn good in net considering his lack of nhl experience. He's a Latvian bronze medal winner last year, being his countrys starter recipient of the teams tournament mvp aswell. 👏 Vancouver basically stole him from the sens. And he's probably going to get a healthy raise after. Teams will be interested in him more than likely

Below average goaltending from him makes you think they can beat the Canucks, you may be just right but we’ve also heard that oilers would sweep Vancouver and look how that’s turned out! Canucks don’t have any real deal superstars like the McWhiners or Leon, we got a good bunch of talented players, with depth on the bench, I’d say our actual superstar in Demko! I sure hope he’s playing tonight, no offence to the Latvian hero we got right now tho, he’s doing a hell of a job!!

Hold up. Skinner is the reason we got here? Lol he was average all season. We got here because we played good hockey, the D wasn't absolutely flopping, and we were scoring lots of goals. Stu just played ok all season, with some great games and some horrible games sprinkled in. This channels losing credibility with the canucks bias.
