I've been critical of GW's abysmal business practices for 30 years, including having had to deal with them when I worked in the gaming industry. When I discovered your channel a while ago, your insights actually expanded my understanding of GW's impact on the industry. Even after living through much of what you have discussed on this channel, you still had well researched insights I was unaware of. This is what keeps me coming back for more.

RIP TB. People often find the Ulster accent grating. I suffered for years with people thinking I was angry when In fact I was animated. I for one love hearing a little bit of home.

I've had a love/hate relationship with GW for 39 years, out of a 42 years gaming. So with this I find your content more balanced than most. I've seen GW grow from the small gamer's company started by Ian Livingston, to an international behemoth that doesn't care for the individual. They deserve critisism on occasion. Some people when they find something they like, with a group of people that accept them, even though society in general doesn't, will feel a need to defend that lest it be ripped away from them, leaving them with nothing again. This scares them. What they say reflects more on them than Discourse, or any other target of the vitriol, lest they realise their feelings are a lie. As for the accent, there is nowt wrong with it, just a lazyness on some peoples' part to try and understand something different. I for one like the northern Irish accents.

I'm always amazed by the people who spend all day consuming content that they hate and then spend more time writing comments about how much they hate the content that they spend all day watching. It must be a sad life for them.

It's considered, balanced, and reflects the meticulous fact-checking that one might expect coming from a lawyer. You are one of the sources I rely on for gaming industry news at large and I'm thankful for your voice. (I do play TTRPGs, though, and your Dungeons & Discourse videos Give. Me. Life.)

This kind of vitriol is why I've avoided actually learning how to play anything from GW, and kept focused on just painting my little plastic doods.

I found your channel during the OGL debacle, and enjoyed your viewpoint and presentation style. I've stuck around because, though I've never dipped into Warhammer, I do find it an interesting setting, and the models are cool. I especially enjoyed your recent videos unboxing your con purchases and your SpeedPaint. Sure, not every joke lands, but sometimes I laugh out loud! (Annoying my cubicle-mates...) That's balance, right? So keep doing your thing, and I'll continue watching!

The sheer salt coming off this video. How dare people recognize the incentive of clickbaiting overtly negative video titles. Usually the topic and content uself is usually better put together and thought out than the thumbnail/title. Some of the hate is absolutely sexism and unreasonable biases, but damn like not all criticism is unreasonable. If people's criticism is really just that unreasonable and wrong, it's not even worth addressing. It's because there's a nugget of truth under the constant negativity. It very much brings out the "why tf are you even here?" Feelings if almost every opinion about a community, company and fandom are mostly negative. I don't know why it's so hard to recognize that the constant overtly negative opinion pieces tap into a niche of frustrated people in the hobby, and ostricize other people in the hobby. There's nothing wrong with the opinions you're putting out there, but crying about people not liking that isn't a good look.

I believe you hit the nail with "people don't like to be reminded of what they don't want to think about". I've known WH for over 20 years, but I'm new to the hobby and, while I love it, GWs practices are not the best and should continue to be criticized (prices, FOMO, availability, delivery, customer service, etc.). People also seem not to be focusing on the content, but on other aspects irrelevant to the actual subject. Keep on with the good content (and the bad as well, why not?)!

Imagine making negative clickbait react videos, people start reacting negatively to such videos, then making a clickbait video negatively reacting to the people that are negatively reacting to your negative clickbait react videos.

I honestly owe you an apology. I was one of those people that listened to all the noise within the “GW bubble”. After actually engaging with your content, it’s clear that while you do put your spin on the content it’s hard to ignore the truth in your criticisms. Now that my bubble has been burst I can clearly see the grip that GW has on the tabletop sphere.

We disagree on the status of 10th edition. But I still love the channel. I really like the fact that your a consumer advocate. We need more of this. I also never feel judged for still enjoying GW and 10th edition. You don't tell people "don't do this!". Don't listen to the haters you rock!

Video titles like "OMG, GW just ended life as we know it!" get clicks. That drives views and makes money. There' nothing wrong with a little good, old-fashioned capitalism. Just be true to yourself. Don't try to deny that that's the kind of KZfaqr you are. Nothing wrong with it.

If your content included more than **pure clickbait**, then people wouldn't trash your channel. All you've done is pander to people's complaints and checked the algorithm boxes with your thumbnails. You came across my feed during the D&D OGL scandal. What intrigued me about you was your presentation style ("is that a shtick? or is that really her personality?"). I watched a few videos to figure that out -- and then I saw the Warhammer miniatures video of you showing your "room of shame" (my words) where you had boxes of miniatures you hadn't even opened yet. That willingness to just "put yourself out there" (like with this video) sold me and I've been watching you ever since. I'm not a Warhammer fan. I'm a D&D fan and I appreciate the candor, the humor, *and* your accent (I had to keep rewinding "whales" video to realize you were actually saying "whales"). Everything they accuse of doing badly, you also do with your D&D reviews and I think its great! I like what you do. Keep it up!

Honestly, if people who purposely blind themselves to the negatives of a specific company are complaining, then you are doing your job well as a critic. You always bring forth well researched topics, and if the haters want to cover their ears and go "lalalalala," then that's on them. Unless this is actually the end of Discourse Miniatures, then it’s a perfect example of many of the complaints being made. It’s just click bait. DM does produce great content, the reason I’ve been subscribed for over a year… but the constant negative is making it harder and harder to actually finish the videos. Personally I feel like if your point of view is so anti -GW then perhaps it isn’t the best career choice to become a content creator in a hobby where they are by far the apex predator. You have ostracized the same fan base you are attempting to provide content for.

I went to her religiously for Hasbro/WOTC drama updates and though I do not play GW stuff anymore it was interesting to learn about the direction they are taking. It is the only miniature based content I consume and that is because you are entertaining, intelligent, and informative. Please don't change and keep up the amazing work. I haven't played an RPG in many years and yet I watch your other channel as well in order to keep in touch with that world.

I stumbled across one of your vids a few months back and found your energy and humor quite entertaining and subscribed and always watch your vids now. The length and the amount of dialogue you have in the vids shows that you put in work when you create them so for what it's worth, your vids are appreciated. Hope you stick around. Just discovered this channel recently, I'm brand new to the mini painting hobby and I've learned a lot even just from the few videos I've seen. Plus, you're one of the few not-dude creators in the space. It would be a shame to lose you.

The first video I watched on your channel was the one about the Horus Heresy box. I had major FOMO when that was about to be released. Watching your video have me a view point that let me think clearly. Thank you for having an opinion of your own. People are free to think as they want.

I don't always agree with Discourse, but I like the commentary, find it to be well thought out, quite a bit is funny/entertaining, and some can be thought provoking. Sure, if all you want to hear is "Praise GW! And Warhammer is the bestest!" then it's not going to happen here... at least not sincerely. My biggest complaint, I guess, is that I ended up buying into Star Wars Legion a year ago with some (but not all) influence from Discourse.... I haven't even played a game of 40k or AoS is 10ish months now. And also, I played my first game of Carnevale last weekend - me finding this one is entirely Discourse's fault. The money I've spent on these two games and the hours of painting all the minis could've been spent on Warhammer! ...but honestly, I've had more fun with these two games than I've had with any Warhammer game in years. I probably wouldn't agree with Discourse entirely on AMG/Star Wars Legion or TTCombat/Carnevale either, but I really appreciate her spreading the word about these and other games beyond just GW & Warhammer.

The best part is the names that pop up with criticism. Some of us have been in the hobby for a long time and see these names. The hobby has grown, for better or worse, and old names trying to stay relevant keep giving the same bad opinions from wayyyy back. I like to keep it civil but sometimes I just want to blurt out "that s a bad call -blank- and you've had nothing but bad calls for 20 years, so sit down and shut up."

When a totally reasonable comment gets downvoted to -14, maybe you're just being brigaded by a small group of fanboys. Personally I dislike clickbait titles and some of the over the top doom and gloom you sometimes pull up, but your takes are generally well supported and your voice is definitely healthy for the community. People are too used to bend over for GW and you do a good job reminding us of what lays ahead on the floor for us - and that it ain't soap.

I literally agree with everything that you said in this video. Key points I was thinking about but then you raised were: A) GW pretend that they are the hobby. Not a company within a wide range of wargaming systems. GW are disgraceful in the way they conduct business. Their approach is immoral, greedy and financially exclusive. People say that "it's just buisness"; well yes and how many times have people and companies sold their soul to make a bigger profit? B) I don't believe that you would get as much grief if you were a man and certainly people are directing very sexist and irrelevant comments to you. (I'm a straight, white male in my late 30s for context, despite the name). C) people 100% feel the need to blindly support GW and hate comments that put GW in a bad light because a) they need to justify the amount of money they spend and b) a lot of people can't handle dealing with uncomfortable issues, confrontation and standing up to a bully. I love my 40k and AoS army. GW miniatures are, on the whole, really good. But I never ever buy from GW website or shops. All my minis are feom 3rd party retailers, ebay, 3d printed, etsy proxies. I use Vallejo paints, all tools and technical stuff is non GW. I save £100s and GW gets minimum of my money possible. It wont ruin their profits but I don't have to be a mug. Some content providers, Vanguard Tactics are an example, kiss GW ass to almost a sickening level and their videos are so immature and condescending on delivery. They have even started an academy 😂 blurgh. Keep up the great HONEST vids.

Just gotta say, love your face, appreciate your voice, and love your voice. Big fan of miniature games and your channel has been refreshing. Public scrutiny of gw is something I think every gw fanboy or girl should learn while they are young. It's always such an alien concept to me that people advocate for the megacorporate machine that leeches the art and life out of games and entertainment.

I used to play 40k and eventually dropped it because i found DUST Tactics, the alt ww2 wargame. The setting, models, and rules were all awesome, but nobody around me had even heard of it. Every gamestore by me is just a mixture of people playing 40k, MTG, and 5e DnD; with the occasional AoS thrown in for flavor. The few times I've gotten people to play other games besides these they've always had fun, and yet they never take off without me at the head (sounds self-important but my point still stands. Great video Discourse, I subbed to you for your viewpoint but I always have trouble watching a video with a clickbaity title, regardless of the creator. I've come to accept that this is just the way KZfaq is unfortunatly for the vast majority.

The title of this video is probably my main issue with Discourse Minis, its clickbate, yes a lot of creators use the same technique and I don't watch them much either. I have other issues with the way you present the content in your videos. Having said that, subscribers seem to eat it up so go you :) I keep trying to watch your videos but find it hard once its clear the title has little to do with the content and the content is often using a few facts to follow a narrative you want to express. But you do have skills putting your videos together and you have 31k subs so you clearly do something people like :) I don't agree with anyone referencing you as a person as criticism, how you look or sound, that's unnecessary and uncalled for. Your content just is not for me.
