When the game needs a new engine, that's when they'll create a new game.

People say they can’t add new characters cause there’s not anymore in the story but like, look at xrd, Elphelt and ram just kinda showed up.

I would love cosmetic DLC like alternative outfits, weapons, etc. New colors should be free honestly. Hell they could have added an option to customize the color palette of your character.

I hope Strive sticks around, even though I originally was using it as a gateway to prep for 2XKO it has quickly become a game I frequently return to and always try to improve at. I still don't consider myself great by any metric but I always enjoy playing strive when I get the chance. great video as always.

They can't do skins because all cloth physics are hand crafted. They'd have to make a new set of animations for every skin

I mean, there is a lot of potential for new characters just from the lore. Even disregarding characters like Izuna and Paradigm who haven't been playable in a traditional fighter, you have Vernon, Gabriel, Ariels, Erica, Daryl, and April, and those were just the ones from the character polls. You also have Crow or Chronus, or even Malcolm (the guy they "revealed" for their recent april fools joke)

Nah the big three are kinda in a weird place. I like Strive for what it is. The lack of brutal over monetization is dope.

There's room for an evergreen fighting games, but that doesn't mean it would work for others. Each comes out with not only new visuals, but new systems to sink your teeth into, such as going from the V system from SF5 to the new Drive system in SF6. That's how they grow. It's like Dauntless is the evergreen monster hunting game and it's still the same game, and monster hunter is about to come out with yet another iteration (a 3rd one by comparison) which will no doubt come with a new unique system, while Dauntless is the same thing.

i didnt like fighting games back then, but i found a person who quickly became my friend and presented me these games. At first i was not enjoying it bcs it had to much where i could press or do or think. But later he presented me ggst, slowly my yt recomendations where full of ggst and my only goal was buying the game, so i did. Now i love the game and learnd a lot

One thing people sometimes forget is studios _like_ to make new games. One of the reasons ArcSys moved on from the xrd series and into Strive is because they wanted to make more than just another "thing but more" patch to the existing game, they wanted to make something radically different. It's a natural consequence of artistic ambition. And to use an example I know, the live service nature of LoL means the game you played in League of Legends Season 2 is _radically_ different from the game you can play today, but only one of those is accessible. Whereas you can still go back to older games, and Strive will still be around whenever the next GG happens. All that said, I do hope Strive lasts for at least another 5 years, there's definitely still room to grow and improve and innovate before it's time for the next thing.

I honestly would love one big update when everything is said and done where they bring back unique character interactions like in Xrd Rev 2. If not that, more single player game modes, including a setting to adjust arcade mode difficulty.

I think you only have colors in mods for the same reason they dont do skins. The cost of animating them isnt worth it, especially since the team is smaller than a bigger game like Tekken or SF. If its between that and a character, I'd want the character. People underestimate the cost of modeling and animating a character in a fighting game with the sort of quality the Strive characters animate with and its probably not simple to do a real quality skins with all the squash and stretch and smearing and exaggeration that the models undergo

I feel like this game will still be alive past its dev support. Like tf2, it's just going to be and thrive through the sheer will of the community. So we should STRIVE to bond and make friends with each other.

This is my favorite game of all time, and a game I finally gotten scary good at. Just thinking about the fact that it won’t be alive forever pains me.

I don't think adding cosmetics is a resonable ask. These characters are animated as manually as it gets. It would have to be minute changes. The reason Tekken can have costumes for example is because all of their clothes are physics based.

I Would definitely buy like a previous designs cosmetic pack. Xrd elphelt, non-hoodie may, silly suit Faust. So much potential.

I thinks there's a more than 70 percent chance of a season 5 but I can't really see a 6th happen. Arcsys has lots of money flowing in through side project and maintaining guilty gears legacy for future releases for a stand out ip in the growing fgc is there main concern right now. They have the potential for the next game to be bigger than street fighter 6 is based on the fan base and content being made noe.

Spoilers for Strive's story Strive is probably the last installment of the franchise (ignoring title updates), with Sol being "dead," and Ky retiring, and many other characters wrapping up their stories in this game whether through the story mode or in arcade, Strive seems to be the finale of Guilty Gear's story, unless they make Sin the protagonist because come on, everyone agrees he's MC material you can't really disagree on that. Unless they make get a new MC, Strive will probably be developed for another season or 2, with bonus content rearing around the corner, like you said earlier, Strive will die eventually and maybe have a smaller than usual following, but I believe it will take years for that to happen. TL;DR Strive might be the finale, but it will last a long time.

People complained when they added a battle pass in Tekken but I feel like that's a really good way to give a player a incentive to play. And if it is done like in Street Fighter VI then it would be even better, because it can be done offline. Which is good for people who fear playing against others. If you want to get newbies to put in the work to get better and eventually make them confident enough to tackle online and increase the size of the community, give them something like this. Daily challenges to learn characters would also be nice. Imagine picking your main and the game gives you daily training challenges on certain moves and combos.

something you should consider is that these new iterations of the game series such as tekken 8, sf6, etc are all only able to make the drastic changes that they made between games because they jumped forward, as for people who don't like that jump forward, the other game will still be there waiting for them. now, can this be overdone? yes, definitely, but that's just a habit of the older era that's starting to be replaced as patching becomes more and more normalized in gaming and it's definitely slowing down

I would like to get M.O.M. or something else for single player. Over the years I've played mostly single player, I wanted to play online more with strive but floor 6 or 7 seems bare when I log on. They could add story, season one added story.

I think strive will last for more some years like 3 or 4 if it contines to sell well,after that they will do a blazblue game that will last for the same amount of time if successful then return to Guilty Gear. I would like a new ranking system but I think for that they would have to rework their entire online system from zero and I dont know if they want to do that in a 3 year old fighting game they would had to remove the tower because that would just divide the player base. About costumes they already said why they are reluctant to do it numerous times but with Granblue maybe they finally found a way but if there is nothing there for my characters I just don care much and its the same for the other fighting games. The last point is If they would do all those things you are asking about I think arcsys will have to make a choice become an company of only 1 fighting game or continue to do multiple projects. You dont see capcom now in their most successful point doing multiple fighitng games,Bandai Namco tried to do multiple with Tekken and Soul Calibur but they abandonned one of them after 2 seasons. 2XKO studio was brought so many years ago and the game is still not released and yet Arcsys keeps putting new fighting games on the market and I prefer that arcsystemworks instead of one that just focus on Guilty Gear with battle passes and costumes.

I never liked the idea of games having a arbitrary "shelf life" or being "replaced" just because a new game came out to begin with. Heck people still play XX to this day because neither xrd or strive magically made it suddenly become "bad" or lose any of it's charm. a good game should live on as long as there are people to play it IMO and crying "dead game" whenever dlc ends is just a weak, self-fulfilling prophecy

I prouder Tekken 8 delux editing and with the new updates comes game braking bugs... but I bought this game specifically because I'm new to GG and Bridget is someone I fell in love playing, I feel like if I lose I deserve it and not that someone is pressing a single button (Eddy); my point is if you look at someone like Auska who is so technical it feels like Noone can learn him but that's where this game excellent where T8 and SF6 fail, the controles are simplified like in those games but to the point it hurts the "fighting game" aspect overall but GG still has balance pretty much through it's whole roster and that's darn impressive to have people online not complaining about charaters, everyone is broken in their own way so why I drop T8 I find myself falling in love with this game again and would love to duel you because I honestly just need friends

When is Guilty Gear adding guest characters from other games

I honestly think that the future of guilty gear could be.. overture 2. like, keep this one as the fighting game with updates. Overture wasnt a breakthrough game, but wasn't a failure either (i mean, it was when it was an xbox exclusive, the least anime of all the conosoles, but since it release on steam, it have been, kinda healthy for a decades old unkown game), but a new iteration where you get to rethink and redesign its mechanichs, a couple of alphas to see what stuck and what needs to be discarded, a decade of moba building experience could help they develop a moba that while isnt going to dethrone lol anytime soon, could have the potential to carve an unique niche and grow from there. maybe a smaller team with more prominent but streamlined rts features? like max of 6 players per match, and explore the 1v1 meta, but also a 3v3 and 2v2v2 metas? no item, and maybe characters wont level up, but that complexity is instead poured on teh troops, and the character movesets? all this keeping guilty gear franchise healthy, and letting strive breathe between big patches, and relevant, since they wont compete against themselves but rather appeal to different audiences while keeping some common ground.

tbh i think making a Strive V2 and giving the characters more moves Should be a though i have seen so so many old fans just hating strive because of *that thing* and the watered down gameplay and it's sad

I good Game shouldn't be sacrificed for a sequel that might not be as good as the original, if a game has the potential, then maintaining it with updates, bug fixed and the like, until it reaches its peak. Only then it should be replaced Strive has so much potential, New stories for each character, 3v3 mode, all the characters that havent been added, more single player or multiplayer modes, raid bosses, playable story mode with QTE

For Keep Strive Alive: -More prize money. There's one thing that I hate Strive and that's you can't buy extra material like Xrd and we depend on the Pachinko fishing (for me a kick in the balls since I buy older OSTs). If you beat Stage 10 on Survival mode, you get only 100 World Dollars aprox, yes you get only 100 WD. If they increase these prizes (more for the Online), they can motivate us for playing the game. -Bring back the AC Survival mode. -Unlocking Boss versions (those Stage 9 bosses arcade) with WDs. -Instant Kills. -About the skins it can be their first versions like ML-X2 Sol (still has Junkyard Dog), Holy Order Ky, Baldhead (Faust), ML Axl, Wedding Elphelt, etc... Early designs (Chipp, Ky, Giovanna, Lore versions such as Holy Order Testament, Commander Gear Dizzy (from the timeline where Ky died) [if she makes it to Strive] or even collabs like Tower of Records Baiken, Pop UP Store Happy Chaos, etc.... -Add character announcers. -Add previous modes (similar to AC), that has ML, AC and Xrd gameplay that can be unlock or buy with WDs.

All I’m hoping is that Strive continues to perform well and get improved and maybe around the time the game ends or just in the next few years, we see BlazBlue make a return

One thing i hope that will change in fighting games is the way dlc works. Don't get me wrong i'm not asking for free new characters. I just think that it is utterly ridiculous that i can't try them out in any way before purchasing them. That includes trying to figure out how to fight against them. So not only are potentially insanely strong characters locked behind a paywall, even trying to figure what you can do against them is. Putting learning how to even fight against a dlc character behind a paywall establishes (perhaps unintentionally) that people that have paid for dlc will have an advantage. In most other genre's there would be outrage, but for fighting games this is simply the way it is and i see almost nobody complaining about it.

Guilty Gear Strive "More" is going to be the re-imagined ultimate version of Strive that will have all the DLC characters, plus a bunch of gameplay changes and a new seasonal DLC. Kinda like how Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- became GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV 2

I think Strive should still going on for some years, and when one of the last seasons begins and maybe the audience started to drop more, they release a new BlazBlue, the two IP will not compete with each other in space, I think it would be a fine decision, Strive still will be there with it's final years, and BlazBlue comming to refresh, both of the two worlds.

I think you're ignoring the fact that not everyone buys all DLCs, like I just bought ABA. So after 3 years they only got 7$ from me but when they make Strive 2 they'll get 70$ so Strive 2 is guaranteed. I think it'll get announced before season 5, probably early next year with a Switch 2 reveal or something :)

I agree with some points here but i dont really think they should try to add more content besides characters, maps. Gamemodes are cool but the game doesnt need better stat trackers or missions. You should play the fighting game for the fighting game. If someone gets bored of the game the right to flex a little achievement wont bring them back.

Late to the party and haven't even bought Strive yet, but here I go lol As nice as it'd be for them to keep improving the game, adding things n shit, it's like you said. Not a live service. If they were to tackle every single problem the game has, developer count probably has to increase to do it in a reasonable timeframe and well, those cost money and couldn't work on another project while they do it. And the killer, the improvements they would be working on do not make money. The game absolutely is working fine for most people so it'd be dumping an unreasonable amount of money and resources for a niche audience that'd care and on top of that the improvements made risk making the next game look worse by comparison, as it would highly likely launch with less content and since the predecessor just got mega polished, more technical problems. Well anyway, I think Strive will have paved a good path for the next game since the sales were quite good and to my knowledge even got better for a while as time went on. I haven't even heard of Arc System Works before. 180 people working on multiple projects, these guys are TINY compared to Bandai Namco or Capcom Which considering the quality they put out is a good thing! And they self-publish this sucker, so here's hoping they keep it fair for a while to come. That said they likely can't take big monetary risks because of it, which things like a story mode would be. At the end, money talks. If the big sales numbers signaled them that the brand has more potential I think there's a good chance that they go bigger and potentially evergreen on the next one.
