So while there has been some communication that this may be happening in the future… I want to let you know that RATM (Tim, Zack, Tom and I) will not be touring or playing live again. “Rage Against the Machine, a legendary rock band, was formed in 1991 in Los Angeles and consists of members Zack de la Rocha, Tom Morello, Brad Wilk, and Tim Commerford. In 2022, they embarked on their highly anticipated reunion tour, which was unfortunately cut short due to Zack de la Rocha's injury. The band had to cancel their European tour as a precautionary measure, and later, their North American dates as well.
Sadly, drummer Brad Wilk announced in January 2024 that Rage Against the Machine will not be touring or playing live again. Despite the cancellation of their 2022 tour, the band's legacy and impact on the music industry remain undeniable. Very powerful speech and it's exactly the kind of thing we all needed to hear. This kind of news sucks as much as when last year, it came out that Serj Tankian hadn't been that interested in being involved with System of a Down. So, that makes two bands that have gotten us aware and motivated to make change now gone. It sucks but they've both given the world the tools needed to put up a fight for a better change.

@@oscarbarrientos1611 They do get along well live and they have made a few new songs. But it doesn't mean that they're as connected enough to produce new and consistent material such as new albums. Maybe I guess they feel they don't need to or whatever, but there's a disconnect somewhere as well.

I’m so gutted. They’re one of my favorite bands and I was gonna fly out to see them during their 2022 tour only to be postponed and now canceled. I really wish I got to see them once in my life and maybe they could reform once again but man this really stings. Closest is that I saw Zach live perform his verse for a Run The Jewels song but Rage is something else. Hopefully they can individually still put stuff out even though Tom’s stuff isn’t exactly the greatest

I'm bummed too. My first show got cancelled for COVID reasons, then I took the reschedule tickets. That one got postponed. Took those reschedule tickets. Then, they ultimately cancelled the show with full refunds. I live in Michigan and it was the show at LCA.

I feel so fortunate to have gotten to see them in Raleigh in 2022, and it’s easily in my top 5 shows I’ve ever been to. Was on the side of the stage, couldn’t see any of the graphics the whole time, but damn if they didn’t have my attention the whole time. Wish they would’ve kept going so more people could see them, but I know I would’ve gone again.

Sad thing is, this means that concepts like equality, justice, and human decency are all gone with the loss of everything that RATM stood for. Now in it's place, all we have are 'protest' songs from crossburning white redneck klansmen preaching hatred and bigotry about how all the black people, mexican people and gay people should all be hung from trees and how they deserve lynching if they don't pray to the great god of how beautiful america is, and how all those cockcoacks on wellfare need to get real jobs, and conspiracies about how a racist white nationalist who whines and cries and lies about an election being stole from him after the election he had rigged for him by russia is somehow the hero of every braindead hillbilly with a white robe in their closet and two brain-cells to rub together. We've gone from Raging Against The Machine to Raging Against Fudge Rounds and how black people and gay people never had rights to begin with. As a huge fan of RATM, I'm very heartbroken I didn't get to see them live, being too young when they were originally around. However, as someone that's been in many bands, it can be difficult to recognize when to end it and move on, so good on them for recognizing that.

Rip RATM, you were always one of my favorite bands. Literally every song they did was good. That speech Tom Morello made is one of the greatest speeches from any musician ever, we really need bands and artists like RATM on modern radio so that talentless rushed music isn’t shortening the attention span of modern music listeners. Overall, it’s one of these moments: "Don’t cry because it’s over, be happy because it happened."

We live in Missouri bought tix for kc in 2020. That didn't happen then they reannounced tour. My wife and I thought screw it so we bought tix to Paris & Belgium! 2 weeks before we leave they cancel that....ugh. Trip was awesome but not seeing rage sucked. Glad I seen them in '97!

Very important band for me, even if i don't agree with all of their politics nowadays and Tom became a bit cringe at times, i'll admit. But the music was so powerful and made even haters of rap-rock say they're an exception, or tried to claim they actually play another genre 😂 People always praise the debut and it's very much justified, but Evil Empire is my favorite album of theirs, it's so creative. RATM's music will live on ✊

I didn't agree with their politics (some I agreed with), but I loved the way they portrayed it. The first album is still a masterpiece. 2nd album is still pretty good, only the 3rd album fell off for me. Nothing will ever take away how awesome that first album was.

I'm going to catch some hell for this, I imagine, but I really don't care that much. I wanted to see this show, and they cancelled the St. Louis show, so I was one of those waiting for announcements of the new dates. But I've never really cared about the band. I don't hate them, by any means, I'm just indifferent. I would have been happy to have them in my list, but they were never a "bucket list" band for me. But Tom Morello is an astonishing guitarist, and I want to get in front of him with my cameras. I don't care what project it's with, I just want the chance to cover Morello on stage. So no more Rage going forward is fine, just get Morello back on the road with one of his 14 other side-projects! 3:16 - To this video, one note I have, Morello didn't say in his speech that "Rage is no long here." He said "Rage is not here" which could simply mean at the Rock Hall ceremony. Now, it MIGHT have been a coy nod at the lack of a future for the band, but I think that's a conclusion easier to reach in hindsight.

I really enjoyed From Ashes to New with Chris but as soon as Danny took over I heard the first few songs I knew they were done. It became shallow music and frankly he was just not a good vocalist. Seeing his trash take here definitely makes that make more sense. FAtN should do themselves a favor and ditch him before he buries them. Their trajectory seemed very much like they were going to take off until the change.

Musically, I was never a big fan of Rage Against the Machine. I'll be the first to admit, their brand of hip hop metal didn't really do it for me (I personally prefer the more Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park styles of rap/rock hybrid music). Having said that, it is a shame I never got to see them live. Whilst not a big bucket list band, I would've liked the chance, just so I can say I'd seen them. Oh well, at least 'Killing in the Name' will always have a special place on my Christmas playlist. 😂

I really hope this is for real but I honestly don't think it is. These guys are like the Brett Farve of the music world....retire than come back. I think as soon as money gets tight they'll be back. From Ashes to New has got to be the most superficial husk of a band still making MID-2000s music. In reality, if they were around, then they would be relagated to opening show hell with the likes of Trapt and Evans Blue.

@ArcaneAssassin777 I actually liked Evans Blue, specifically with their original singer. They just popped in my mind for no reason.
