If you are watching this JP, or BigD if you can pass this along, it would great if they offered end covers for the amps to hide the wires and link multiple amps to make it look like a single large amp. I remember a few companies did this back in the 90 and 2000's and I thought it was neat, but they were higher priced amps I couldn't afford back then.

Hey Jacob. Is this amp pretty good for stock head unit? I’m looking for an amp that is good with my stock head unit and extra battery as I have a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan and they don’t make harnesses for aftermarket head unit they are compatible with some of my vehicle features on it, nor do they make high output alternators for them as well😢

If they would offer them with an option to choose the color of the amp it would be a better deal, or even just offer them all with an option for black that would be better. If you buy a two channel and a 4 channel for instance they are physically similar but the color difference is like a bag of skittles. Props to Jonathan for making it happen, but the different color amps makes my ocd go crazy.

@@justforkiks29 Nothing wrong at all with you having a preference. Just saying not many companies are going to go out of their way to create a bunch of different colors. I actually like the 'skittles" look. If I want my amps to match for display. I will do custom colors on them. Too easy to shoot them with single stage urethane since I can paint cars, boats, etc. I wonder if there's a market for that.

I've never been much of a JP fan. Nothing against him I've just never been into the vibe he puts out. He's working hard to build something doing what he enjoys. I think that's cool and admirable... but given that I'm sitting here watching this looking for something to dislike.... I can't do it. These amps have a great look and a unique color which I think is cool. The attention to detail is really good and it does more than rated. There is just nothing to run down. Overall I'm impressed with this and it seems like a great product.

Skar is cool looking and a great budget build. The big problem with Skar it’s virtually every amp and subwoofer at some point somewhere has some reliability issues. There are more budget builds nowadays and then the 90s when I was growing up but you still get what you pay for. Down for sound make some solid products very good good price point. Personally I run Harman audio Infiniti components and subwoofers. I like to use alpine amps but on my subs I am running a Kicker 1200.1. If I had to rebuild a system from scratch I honestly think the best middle line quality you can get a CT sounds for your price point. No one complains about their products and you can get a very good set up for a small amount of money. Plus they just came up with a three speaker component system which is what I prefer to run. But I am more into SQ build an SPL builds

I guess it Dynos about 1000 watts higher than the RP2K but at double the price I wouldn't call it filling the void when they're out of stock. It's just a different amp. Probably more comparable to the SKv line.

You pay for what you get. The RP2ooo.1 is a good amp if you really have no way to get the extra 150$ together. For the 150$ extra you get a 2700.1 monoblock that has no problem playing @12.5 volts @1ohm. I owned every RP series amps that Skar made. Just spend the extra money on the D4S your paying for the extra wattage and the bass knob that has features rather than just a basic metal potentiometer .

This can't be compared with Skar Audio's RP2000. The JP23 v2 is $379 and the RP2000 is $212. Yeah the JP23 puts out a lot more power but it's going to cost a lot more to get it. So that isn't going to end anything for Skar. The only way that will happen is with an amp that puts out a lot more power and costs the same as the Skar amps. That's just my opinion as someone on a very tight budget. I would still choose the RP2000 all day if I needed a 2k watt amp.
@barrettalen
@barrettalen Жыл бұрын
I'd rather save up 100$ more and get a 2700watt amp than an extremely power hungry rp2000 that might make 1800 watts for 100$ less. I bet it's not long before D4S amps outsale the Skar amps. At least on D4S website. Thanks JP and BigD

Skar's RP2000 does well over 2000 watts at 14.4 volts, 2,890 watts to be exact, so no comparison with price and quality. Skar dominated this and will continue to do so in the future.

@hopskustomaudio Жыл бұрын
@@barrettalen then you aren't as concerned about the price as most people on a budget will be. Majority of people live paycheck to paycheck so saving up an extra $150 isn't an option. Definitely not to put on the budget priced Skar subs they just got. And I'm not saying anything bad about the JP23 at all. It's definitely a badass amp. There's just no way it can be compared with the RP2000. The JP23 should really be named JP3K and compared to other 3k amps.
@barrettalen

One of the fastest amps I ever bought used and sold was the RP2k. I bought 2 brand new and one had protect issues. I pulled em out sold them and bought 2 Wolfram c2400's I got the first ones to hit the states. Sound quality, efficiency, and the ability to perform at 0.5 for a few more bucks. I mean damn I was a Skar nut hugger before I opened up my eyes and realized that you pay for what you get. Buy cheap it's going to be the cheapest quality. Spend a little more and you get more. I still like my Skar TX series 6x9's though
@hopskustomaudio
@hopskustomaudio Жыл бұрын
@@barrettalen I completely agree with you. I use 2 cab 4500s and incriminator audio myself. All I'm saying is that ppl on a budget don't think that way. Actually ppl that aren't bass heads and don't know any different don't think that way either. So the JP23 isn't going to do anything to hurt Skar whatsoever. Skar will continue to sell just like they always have bc they are budget friendly and until someone can compete with them in the same price range nothing will change. Ppl get decent performance at a low price with Skar and that is good enough for most ppl. Plain and simple.

Nice equipment. The D4S line of amplifiers seem to be high quality builds with great power. Just wish I had the extra cash to buy this one. My Rockford Fosgate power 500 finally took a shit on me. Oh well. Time to start saving. Good video BIG D

I litterally bought the jp23 v1.5 earlier this month and have been running it for about a week and a half bumping a sundown audio u12 1500w. It's a fantastic amp. I wish i had some foreknowledge that the v2 was litterally right around the corner. Oh well. I have no complaints other than bass knobs 2300 lumens leds.

I see alot of ppl that run these on tiktok with 4 gauge power/ground wires and factory electrical lol. Deff took Skar RP2k's spot! RP2K has a permanent protect issue so u gotta get the right one. I went thru 4 till I got the right one! This was almost 3 yrs ago now, and I still got it and still works.🤷‍♂️

Skar RP 2k in stock for $212, as of this comment. Refurbished for $159. Another great video sir and JP amps are sold performers. Definitely one of the best amps on the market today. I currently have two of the Skar RP 2k, RP 800, RP 9005, a lot of their amps lol. But these JP's amps are grabbing my attention. They seem very well built. I may buy one soon. Thanks for these in depth and detail videos, they are much needed and appreciated.

Thats great they were able to make the amp smaller, with more output! Also, it's nice they lowered the brightness on the level control. I took mine apart, after finding an old piece of kodak film negative, and put that in front of it to lower the brightness, and then put back together

You mention that they're looking to unseat Skar, but how are the "old-school" brands like JL, Kicker, and Alpine doing in terms of market share in a world of Skar, D4S, and Taramps? Does anyone track this data, like the Consumer Electronics Association? Curious how much D4S vs Skar matters in a crowded car audio world. Also, nobody's going to talk about that sweet sport coat Big D has on in his call with D4S? Very professional.👔
