"The End of the World" was written by composer Arthur Kent and lyricist Sylvia Dee for American singer Skeeter Davis. Her recording of it was highly successful in the early 1960s.

I am so blown away with your talent! I have never seen a young musical artist hit so many covers so accurately. Keep it pure, keep it simple, keep it beautiful and excellent. Don't try to fit in to the social norms by changing who you are in any way. You don't need tattoos, piercings, or any of the other things people do to try to fit in. You are already perfect just the way you are. Your musical talent and charm will take you ALL THE WAY! Right now, you are my favorite GO TO when I want to listen to beautiful renditions of many of my favorite old songs and your originals. BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO!!!

Have to agree with it all...would love to hear her sing a couple of Doris Day songs, with her voice! I heard this song just then, while not watching, and her voice reminded me so much of DD! A remarkable singer! Purely natural!

95% of your catalog are the songs I've played my entire musical life and sadly I have a hard time finding anyone to play them with. Seems the crowd I find myself with at my ripening age want to play either sea shanties, dust bowl folk or Led Zep/Hendrix. Don't get me wrong it's all great but what's always energized me are everything from Rockabilly through the Girl Groups and on through the 60's and 70's..along the lines of your choices. So glad to know there's a new appreciation and while I've had great years living it I sure do envy the future you will have living this music.

You gave me goosebumps Ms.Emily. Skeeter Davis has always been one of my favorites. This song takes me way back to the 1960s when I was a little boy. Well.....that dragged me through ancient memories I thought had been locked up forever; they are still painful after 5 decades. Emily, for whatever reason, God wanted me to hear your heavenly voice singing this very song. You committed yourself to this song as you should; those words affect anyone with a true heart and soul. If there ever was a classic song this was one of them. The truth of the lyrics cut right through to everyone's soul and made Skeeter Davis massively popular instantaneously. Few songs have that kind of powerful impact that is utterly universal, a perfect blend of mood supporting and married to the words. As usual Emily, beautifully done......
