The push for their old mates continues. "Tedesco was playing sensational footy in the first month before the head knock". Really? In round 4, Penrith played easts and Tedesco looked like an old man while Edwards was MOTM. Tedesco looked good the week before against souths, but in hindsight Buzz Rothfield could have looked good against souths. Tedesco has been a great player in the past, but his best is long gone, and if he plays put your house on Queensland. Tedesco will just do what he did last year and hog the ball trying to justify his selection. In the first half of Game 1 last year he called for the ball from Cleary eleven times, and eleven times he died with the ball. Cleary only passed to Luai twice, and the second time Luai put Martin over. So the geniuses in the media declared that the Penrith combination didn't work. Maguire needs to rewatch Game 1 last year, and then watch Penrith v Easts a few weeks back and if he still picks Tedesco he will go the same way as Daley and Fittler.

I'd drop Yeo (great club player but has dogged it at rep level) put Murray in at 13 and bring in Josh King from storm... origin built that kid, just an unsung work horse that has grit. Something the blues have lacked for some time.

agree the panthers have all pretty much failed at origin...they have all gone missing at some stage or another, especially Cleary....predictable and boring, only goes good when his forwards put him in front by 20

I dont think selection mattered last year. It was tactics that were the problem. At 1, 9, 6, 7 and 13 it looked clunky. Hopefully madge fixes that

Nsw slections fell to way side the moment half the players declared eligibility for other countiries meaning I am ruling myself out of OZ selection. Yet still got selected. Luai: Samoa Crighton: Samoa To'o: Samoa Koroisau: Fiji Paulo: Samoa Sualii: not in the team but still in the squad : samoa and rugby Now you want leniu: Samoa Pangai Jr : Tonga Daniel Tupou: Tonga Kaloamatangi: Tonga Saifiti: Fiji Nothing against the boys playing for other countries but this is why origin was always about passion for country and state and this is why SOO can never be opened to players who pledge alegiance to NZ/England/ or any other country, again meaning they are saying I am making myself unavailable to play for the Australia. I even think those players that cannot crack the OZ team if they opt to play for another country then they forfeit their rights to play orgin. Maybe there is a greyline in players that are not good enough to crack the oz team then play tier 2, maybe but if they pick another country over Oz selection then that should be it. Whats your thoughts?

As a Qlder, Hope they pick Cleary / Luai....they have won us 3 out of the last 4 origins...Cleary goes missing and is a predictable robot, Luai is just messy and doesnt provide his backline with anything and goes missing too and is more interested in being a DOG, Cleary cant defend, he was the one who missed Munster to lose the game last time.....I think they should pick and stick Hynes / Burton combo.....give them a chance to settle in for a while, eyes up players, great kicking games, strong runners, always in the game and never go missing...NSW have always been successful over the years with strong running 5/8ths....Daley, Fittler, Barret, even Greg Bird did well there...your welcome NSW for the advice...LOL
