You few promising indidovudials have given me a glimmer of hope. 🙏 As a 46 year old Gen-Xer, I would give one piece of humble advice...continue to search historical facts and significance on your own. School made history horrible for me as well. Nothing was more tortuous and boring from middle school - to high school - to college undergraduate than history teachers, and history classes. However, nothing could be further from the truth about how essential and interesting history is once you are taught a bit of it in the right way at the right time. Once it resonates on a personal level...you can't help but wonder how your existence fits into this giant and evolving puzzle. Around age 25-30 I started to realize that they just never taught us anything that matters in the world - really matters. Wars, strife, hatred and allies among ans between different cultures, people and regions...there's reasons that offer some,clarity for ALL OF IT. Like WW1, WW2, The Vietnam War, history dating back to the start of complexities within middle east conflicts, geography, generational discord, etc. I have learned to respect former generations to the utmost levels. Particularly - as a benefiting US citizen born of Asian and Hispanic decent who's grandfather on my Asian(mom's side of family) in the US ARMY and stormed Normandy in WW2. Throughout the topic of history courses I've experienced in school of any level - that related to my day to day life, or that was the least bit interesting, tbh. Learn all you can - but never without the nuance and significance of foundations of these events. One thing I have learned to be is more tolerant - but that only happens from awareness of REAL HISTORY TRUTH of MAN'S greatest and worst of behavioral deeds throughout the history of our existence. Leave the WOKE, self-serving, victimhood views to starve and die. It all stems from entitlement born through modern day safety and comfort which previous generations have paid for with their lives.

I hear you. I definitely want to revisit this video topic in a longer format. I’ve learned from various feedback from the comments that I could’ve included many more earlier civilisations and talked more about Africa and Asia. Forever improving 🙏

I fail to see how including more information is a flaw. I think including random events of civilizations is better than nothing at all. I'd rather have a broader suite of information rather than cutting it out for essentially no gain but a more precise narrative. Really, your criticism boils down to "it should have been longer and include more information about these civilizations" which is maybe true but not very realistic considering the scale of this project. I think the more fascinating critique of this video would be the use of ai. It's pretty clear that the visuals were ai generated, and I fairly sure at least portions of the script were generated with ChatGTP. It's not really an issue for me, but there's definitely a moral question as to whether essentially generating this video is ethical or not. Eitherway I really enjoyed it, and learnt a lot!

We have extensive records of Columbus's horrific acts from Las Casas and others, for just one example; and the thoroughly documented transatlantic slave trade is objectively incredibly important from a perspective of economics and relations between the European nations, even if you forgot Africa itself. You really can't omit it by accident. I wouldn't use the word "malicious," myself; I think it's an intentional omission, but that could be because the creator wants to avoid controversy or touchy subjects. I don't know why such things were omitted, but certainly you can't know this much about western history and accidentally omit something that stood at the very heart of it for a couple hundred years.
