My first DAW!! I used it for a few years. Then Sony bought it over 😂. Also note that my first audio program i used to record music was sonic foundry sound forge in 1998. When Vegas came out it was just a multi-tracked soundforge. It was awesome.

Still using vegas for simple edits, which is pretty much i only do now, works just fine. As a bonus it doesnt even crash that often anymore, can turn that autosave from 1 minute to 10 minutes.

Still using it in 2023. It's continued in the tradition of being easy to get for people who don't have a lot of money to spend. This is due to MAGIX' heavy participation in Humble Bundle, where previous versions of Vegas Pro Edit come up for $25 (including a nice selection of other MAGIX software). As long as you're cool with using a version that came out a couple of years ago, it's a steal (no pun intended). I'm currently on Vegas Pro Edit 18. A lot of power for $25.

I had to agree with Superabbit here. I am still using it in 2023. It's going in the tradition of being such an easy thing to get for people who never had anything to spend their money to legally get a version of VEGAS by paying money to get one. And the fact that all the older KZfaq videos were edited using VEGAS, with the exception of some people, like Alan Becker, in which Alan never used VEGAS to edit his stuff, as he wanted to become a professional editor. So, he used the Adobe CC software suite instead. Still. I love the app, and thank you for making a video explaining the history of VEGAS Pro.

I think there are quite a few KZfaqrs still using Vegas to edit their videos. But it seems like most KZfaqrs use Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut. Heck, some even use DaVinci Resolve.
