How have I been a Sims fan for like 13 years and NEVER made the connection, that Bella Bachelor was Bella Goth as a kid???

I really wish memories were still in the Sims 4. It added to the stories!

Bella Goth holds a special place in my heart. The first time I loaded up the Sims 1 ever as a kid, I skipped the tutorial and loaded straight into the Goth family. Bella ran into the house and immediately started trying to cook at the stove. Of course, she had no cooking skill so she started a fire and burned to death. As a little kid, this was traumatic (especially after I'd just spent an agonising 4 hours installing this game I had been wanting forever). I cried and turned off the computer without saving. My sims were almost never allowed stoves in their house after that and had to live on salad. 💁🏻‍♀️ After that experience, I always look after Bella in any way I can.

I always saw the sims 4 as a universe that Bella goth ended up in after getting abducted and she's trying to act normal whilst figuring out how she got there :/

When my mum and I first played Sims 1, Bella Goth got stuck to our family's floor when visiting and died. We never got to play with her because her urn was just by our door the whole time. The mystery of Bella Goth started early for us.

Sims 4 is an alternate timeline because ea got lazy. They ruined such an intriguing story.

Random fact, there’s an interview with Bella on the sims 2 official website, and it says in it that she is seeing a hypnotist to help her regain her memory, and that she’s starting to remember her family and how much she loves them. It also says that she’s tried before to reunite with her family, but every time she tries, something stops her

In the sims 3 there's a book written by Alexander "Where's Bella?" Aliens are a good answer to Bella's disappearance but I am sure there's much more to it. There are lots of hints of Goths time traveling along the games.

there’s also bella goth in the sims PSP game! she’s in the curio shoppe and talks about being abducted by aliens and needing to run away (though the place she’s selling is very different to any she lives in on the desktop games, so i don’t really know about the timeline of that game in relation to the others? but the house is haunted which is very on brand tbh)

This makes me dislike sims 4 even more! I love all the storyline and they just were lazy enough not to continue it. I hope sims 5 grabs all these amazing storylines from sims 2 again! 😍

I have an idea: Why don't you play an alternate version of Bella Goth when Strangerville is released? It is canon that she's been abducted by aliens and ended up in Strangertown then died in Lunar Lakes so what if you played a version of Bella Goth that went through that adventure rather than the Bella in Sims 4? Or you can look into one of my favorite Sims mysteries, Lolita Goth (reference: Chrillsims3)

I was actually reading about Bella on the official sims wikia page and there's a LOT of other sims games that have her in them. Check the wikia if you're curious.

I'm hoping StrangerVille will give us more mysterious families and not just "find the cure for the disease."

I think, when Bella got abducted by Aliens she was held captive for experimentation, and then when the Sims colonized Lunar Lakes (Lunar Lakes is a moon of a planet in the Sims Universe) the Aliens dropped her on that world because her folk was there, and from that point had to continue her life without her family. There's also an NPC on the world named Mathilda Goth, so perhaps she found a new husband and had a new family.

I think the theory that Bella Goth could’ve time travelled or potentially dimension jumped is fascinating to me so I like to believe it. It’s not an impossible theory because in the sims 3 Riverview (the free store world) you can find Don Lothario and his bio says that he time traveled and what not; so I’ve always made the connection that Don very well could’ve disappeared like Bella did later on in the time line.

A fun thing is that the bella goth in strangetown does not match the model of pleasentview bella, i believe its the eye color and skin tone that are different Ive seen theories that strangetown bella is actually like an alien sent down as her but theres no proof of that

has anyone noticed that in the sims 3 sunset valley in bella bachelor's (goth) house on the balcony outside her room the only thing on it is a telescope. And if you choose to play as the goths in sunset valley, when it loads the only thing mortimer has in his inventory is the Where's Bella? book

I played the sims 2 slot as a kid and I vaguely remember thinking how weird it was that she was missing, but didn't think much of it because I was a child lol. I loved playing in strangetown and was usually playing a sim in that town whenever I played, and I remember seeing bella goth there and thought oh there she is! But I don't think I really cared enough about the mystery itself because again, I was a child playing the sims 2. If only I paid more attention! Lol

Played The Sims 2 so much that while playing the game, the Aliens brought back Bella Goth. She was abducted by the Aliens. LMAO

I loved the huge backstories and backgrounds to the townies in the sims 2 , such as the Goths, Ophelia and her aunt , Romeo and Juliet. I miss that, hopefully it will make a return :) Great video! Also please do make a video on the history of Pleasantview etc. :)

A lot of people may not remember but, in the Sims 2 on PSP, it was all about finding out why there were weird things happening in Strangetown and revealing secrets. When you first get there, you go into a diner and you see Bella Goth crying because she couldn't remember her family or how she got there but she was hiding from the aliens. The only thing she knew was that she liked chocolate. The home where she was living at in that version of Strangetown was being haunted by 3 ghosts. In the game she reveals some secrets. One of them was that she was abducted by aliens and another was that she didn't really love Mortimer and only married him for his money. My theory is that she was abducted and placed in an alternate universe of Strangetown.

When i was little i remember having this theory that since the caliente sisters are half alien and we kind of got a hint that perhaps they had some involvement with bellas disappearance, the aliens that abducted bella were maybe their relatives

I remember being fascinated by Bella in the Sims 2, and I do remember seeing that she was alive but missing and thinking that was weird. I didn't (and still don't really) like desert worlds so I rarely played in Strangetown but when I did, I still remember the moment I saw Bella there and desperately tried to work out how to send her home (which you couldn't do.... god the trauma is still there ksdjfhsd). I moved her into my house and everything to keep an eye on her I was so concerned about her. I found it so interesting though that the Caliente sisters are part alien!!!! They were some of my favourite Sims to play as when I was little and maybe at one time I saw the family tree but didn't understand what it meant so when you said that my mind = blown. Wow

How is the alien abduction just a "theory" when in Mortimer's memories it literally said she has been abducted by aliens? Plus I once met her in Strangetown back when I played The Sims 2. I talked to her and wanted to make her come back to Mortimer but she just left after our conversation and never appeared again.

Didn’t Don get pushed into a time machine by the sisters and end up in the sims 3? What if the same thing happened to Bella?

i’ve seen a theory that Alexander went back and time and wrote a book called “murder in pleasant view” which Bella had in her inventory in Sims 3, and that some how stoped bella from being abducted and sims 4 is what would have happened if bella was never abducted.

Rewatching this after hearing that a sim guru confirmed that Bella was supposed to have been abducted & appear in Strange Town instead. but the game glitched and she didn't show up so they just rolled with it. Love how spot on you were and the details of your investigation! ❤️

I had no idea the town's in sims 3 are different timelines. that would explain why when you move time everything get wiped (friendships, relationships, job/school history etc)

The Bella Goth in Strangetown has a different facial structure. There is still a Bella Goth in Pleasantview.

Bella is a secret agent in TS4, which is supposed to be the period of time before she vanished in TS2, maybe she went on a super secret mission to investigate what was going on in Strangetown and something went wrong...maybe she was kidnapped by the mad scientist with the Caliente sisters assistance and had her memories erased

I have a theory...I remember in strangervillege, in sims 4, the alien plants made people go insane and they started saying "OUR MOTHER LOOKS LOVELY IN RED" and kept saying how beautiful she was. Bella has bell which means beautiful and the fact that the plants made people say how lovely "mother" looks in red might mean that the aliens might of did some freaky experiment with Bella's dna and produced it in another dimension which is the alternate one of sims 4...

some say the alternate timeline in sims 4 is because alexander went back in time, published the murder mystery and changed the timeline

Hi so a LONG time ago when I still played with sims 2 townies i played the goth house and I don't remember if I was at their house or Don's but Bella came back, she was dropped by a spaceship at the front door. Idk if anyone ever got that event happening but it did to me. Basically she didn't died, she was kidnapped by aliens. I can't believe no one has ever mentioned this yet so i just thought I'd put it out there. (edit) i just saw a fan made vid about her returning the way i just explained but it's fake, but i swear it legit happened in my game. it was a long time ago but i remember it happening. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Loved this! Definitely do one for the Landgraabs. I played the sims 3 on ps4 and only really got into the sims with sims 4 so I know nothing about these backstories that some families have.

I'm a pretty new sim player, played 3 a little but mostly got into 4, so if you continued this kind of series doing the histories of the base game sims and worlds I'd be very interested to learn all the game lore. I loved this video. Thanks!

Don and the Caliente sisters were in kahoots! The original plan was to get Don to steal Bella ('s heart) so that the sisters could swoop in to fill that gap for Mortimer; however, when the plan backfired, they had to take drastic measures. Bella's memories had to be erased so she wouldn't snitch when she returned.

I've only played Sims 4 and Bella Goth is my favorite Sim in the game. You've made me really said by saying that she dies in the Sims 3. Ugh! I'm just gonna ignore those facts and got by what Bella is in the Sims 4. Bella ... we'll always have Willow Creek. My theory that I posted in the Conspiracy video is that Mortimer was a Young Adult and Bella was a teenager when they had Cassandra going by their ages in the Sims 4. That could still be true but doesn't jive with the probable closeness of their ages as kids. So perhaps Bella was abducted by aliens and STOPPED AGEING while with them. She then returned the same age as when she left but everyone else had aged. That also may not jive with the history in the other Sims games.

I wish Sims 4 was like 25 years later or something. And the mystery for simmers can be solved if they look deep enough. They could have included some red herrings. Like a dead body they thought was bella being found and the mystery in the sims universe being ”solved” it was an accident. But in actuality it was just an impostor and cassandra never accepted the fact that her mother died in that accident as it would be out of her character or something. So she enters the science career to find the answers. (Cough aliens cough)

Ok... this was great but there's 3 things I wanna mention because you've only focused on the PC games: 1) Bella's official EA interview on thesims2.com (now available via archive only). It's set a few months after she landed in Strangetown, she's going to hypnotherapy and remembers bits about her family - also dispells anything about the ST version being a clone, and confirms that that is the real Bella. Also any idea that she didn't get abducted is disproved because she's regaining memories of aliens and the inside of a ship straight after she was with Don on that night 2) similarly, the PSP game. It's based in Strangetown and one of your challenges is to help Bella hide from the aliens (the ones that abducted her from PV), in return for helping you she admits that, yes she was abducted, but also that she only married Morty for his money. Imo this doesn't fit with how strong their relationship was in Sims 1 or 3 so a lot of people don't accept that as canon and just more of an oversight 3) the Sims social!! Got taken down from Facebook 2 years after it was released but Bella was a big part of the game. She's left strangetown by this point, reappearing in a place called Littlehaven. She isn't hiding like she was in the PSP version and she's trying to find the aliens that took her from PV. This kind of goes on until she gives up searching, she finds a bunch of aliens but none that took her. she restarts hypnotherapy & remembers her family again, and in the end she is content with the friends she's made there but never wants to give up looking for her family & aliens entirely

I mean creators even added the book “Where is Bella?” in Sims 3. We have to appreciate this cute little hint

i love the sims 4, but i wish they continued the story they started with the previous sims games...or at least started another storyline that had just as much depth and little details. it’s the biggest thing the sims 4 is lacking in my opinion. i absolutely love the connect between the sims 1,2 and 3. that was the biggest disappointment about the sims 4 for me.

yeah a while back I decided to play as the goth family in ts3. played around a bit mostly w mom & dad but when I clicked on mortimer's inventory he had only a baseball and a book titled "Where's Bella?" ... the sobbing that day...

There’s a sims 2 for PSP, there you can actually meet bella and learn a few of her secrets in strangetown and basically she tells you that she got married for money and that shes running away because she got abducted by aliens, then she sells you her house which is the Espiritu Estate (not exactly sure about the name) which is haunted by ghosts. I always thought that was a fun little easter egg

I love this video & your channel so much! I started playing Sims when TS3 came out, so I didn't really know any of the lore or backstories of the important/well-known families. But since digging and learning more (especially with Strangerville coming out) its inspired me to play a Goth family legacy in my Sims 4 game! You did an awesome job on this video, excited for more! ♥️
