Climate activists across Australia are being charged with serious offences in unprecedented numbers. It’s leading to an increasingly combative confrontation between protesters and the state.
Four Corners has analysed arrest data and found more than 20 of those charges were directed towards a small group of Perth activists called Disrupt Burrup Hub.
The group made headlines in August 2023 when police arrested them outside the house of Woodside Energy CEO Meg O’Neill.
The Burrup Peninsula in Western Australia has become critical in the nation’s battle against climate change - with protesters escalating their responses to the proposed expansion of a massive gas project there.
This documentary reveals how far both sides are willing to go for what they believe in.

I feel like I am watching a doco on China, Russia or Afghanistan - the bullying and silencing tactics are the same. And Australia is suffering for the companies that are almost completely foreign owned, so most profits go offshore, and many also pay no tax in Australia. But it's Aussies in their own country being put in gaol for protesting.
