Holding a grudge against someone is like drinking poison and expecting the person you are upset or angry with to die. Forgiveness is setting ourselves free from self inflicted suffering 🙏🙏🙏🙏

@@johngreen4683That's true John, and nicely put mate. I haven't had to forgive myself or anybody else in a good many years now. But I've been betrayed in my past, and at the time I held a grudge for a long time, and holding a grudge is like dragging around a huge lump of lead on one's back which causes more suffering on top of the feelings of betrayal. So the only way to lighten the load is to forgive those who trespass against us and keep moving forward until we reach the light of our timeless essence of being where there's nothing really to forgive.✨🙏✨

4:18 Real forgiveness happens when you realise there is a dimension in you not affected by anything done by anyone to you. As a person you suffer. But the timeless being is untouched. It’s beyond suffering. Thanks Eckhart. 4 April 2024. 🌹✨💫⛈🍀⛈🌵🌸🏃🍺🍕😇😇😇

We forgive our unloving thoughts about ourselves, a person or situation. That's how our true essence gets uncovered from underneath our grievances. This is clearly explained in A Course in Miracles, of which ET is quite familiar with. 🙏🕊️✨

Very true.✨ There is a part of us, the truest part, a nucleus of light that is untouchable by anything, any offense, any wrongdoing. They will no longer impose. Pretending is useless there. If you sit there, forgiveness will be a very simple and natural feeling and it will be even simpler to forgive ourselves. So grateful 💓🙏✨✨✨🌺

Who most people take themselves to be, the "person", is egoic mind activity. It's a mix of images, memories, concepts, stories, conditioning, programming, automatic unconscious defensive and compensating mechanisms, automatic behaviours, all mixed together in what we call the "me".

My reason for trying to have forced forgiveness is that I don't want to be affected by those ancient wrong doings anymore. I want to live a life. Dwelling in resentment is only creating suffering for me so I sincerely want to stop it. The only problem is that it seems not to stop by my own choice. Nature has taught me that acceptance is a natural consequence of things, it cannot - and needs not to - be forced. Major part of human suffering is trying to force things as if they were under one's own control. In nature there is no such thing as unacceptance, because everything, entire life, is given and taken by the omnipotent Mother Nature. How does male God, purposeness of modern society and personal responsibility of an individual fit into this scenario is still very unclear to me. Going back to the simpleness of nature seems not to be an option.

The degree as to how much one forgives relates to the degree as to how much one loves and respects one’s inner self, consciousness. Ego cannot forgive, it pretends to forgive. Trying to forgive goes against genuine forgiveness.

I thought I had fully forgiven someone and held no resentment towards them but today I was triggered with anger, and i became an observer of my thoughts and the thoughts were of a memory of being a victim. I think there was little to no emotion about the initial thing I had forgiven them for but just having the thoughts of bringing up that past behavior makes me wonder if I resent them? 🤔 I behave kinder to the person as though I don’t resent them but I needed a walk to cool off and observe my thoughts. Why would someone think about an old wound they had forgiven or so called healed again if they had truly forgiven? The memory will always be there. Is it normal to think about it or should my brain never go back there? How do I know that I have truly forgiven? Daily I act from a loving ❤place but in a moment when I’m angry I just separate myself to make sure i’m not unkind.
@stephenflood3463

It's quite normal to think about our bad memories because they happened and there's no way to erase them. We can't change them either, but what we can do is change how we feel about them. They can still hold power over us and trigger the pain body, but we shouldn't let them. Detach your emotion from that particular memory and see it as a bygone chapter in your life that taught you a valuable lesson and just focus on creating the next chapters of your life. You are the Author of your own book.🙏

There must be "Just Reparation" against the ones you have sinned against. You certainly want this on your record when you depart this world. God is the final judgment. ONLY God can forgive sins. The People Of Israel wouldn't even let Yeshua (Pbuh) forgive sins. "On Whose Authority Are You Forgiving Sins Yeshua." Jesus replied " On My Own Authority. I am a Son Of God."
