Honestly, as a tier VIII bomb sled, this thing unironically may be really good at unlocking things like the MiG-29 when Germany gets it

After watching you play this yesterday I can confirm this plane is very much a vehicle of all time.

It's like F-4F early all over again,if you don't remember, when the event F-4F came out,a ton of new jet players rush to play it and become easy food for any half good pilot

I actually enjoy flying this because of the lower br. I take bombs, go low and left, get two bases, come though the back and get two kills. Rinse and repeat

Thanks for the guide and pushing this thing into a2a roles so that if I do redeem the coupon I can make good use of it :D the AShMs for air-to-air usage is great, reminds me of visually locking landing aircraft on the airfield using AGM-65s, or even planes in the air. The Mauser 27s are going to be very strange to use, an oddball caliber indeed.

You should try using the reversal thrust in a dogfight, it works and it's pretty funny seeing the confusion of the enemy

Yes the radar could lock on tanks till the 7th star became available. Since then we have the current one I really hope Gaijin reverts those changes and let's us use them in Ground RB because Germany really lacks a Ground strike in that BR range

7:20 I noticed that the AS.34s actually intercepted the AIM-9Ls. Which gives me an idea. You could probably use these to intercept/decoy AIM-54s. I see a ton of F-14s launch a hail of '54s and then let them do their own tracking. The missiles are large enough for radar's to get easy locks

There you have your answer at the end. At least I go for Tornadoes, partly because the engines are so hot it's easy to get a good IR missile in. The other part is that, as an event vehicle, there's a lot of newbie pilots using them.

This thing is brutal in sim. The search radar can’t see aircraft, has no IFF, can’t turn.

I managed to have one of the ship missiles after launch lock onto a m247 on the airfield instead of the intended landing f5c and with perfect tracking it killed the m247, so sad they removed the ability to use the radar on ground targets but the missile still wants to lol

im doing much better with it than i expected, consistently getting 2 bases and 2 kills although thats avoiding using it in dogfights

What map determines if you take flares priority or flares only? Edit: that fox 3 kill on that f-5 was one of the weirdest kills I’ve ever seen.

I honestly love flying this thing. I haven't spades it yet, but in 15 games I've actually managed two ace's already. Great for grinding with the ability to also get the first base kill as well!

I believe there is currently a bug that allows you to dumb fire semi and active radar missiles. Basically you lock onto something with your radar like normal and activate the missile. But in addition you also set up a SPI (you can do this by either binding sight stabilization or using CCRP, I recommend the former), this you only really have to do once and you can put it anywhere you like, just make sure not to lose the SPI by setting it to the sky/out of range (the SPI will be lost because you can't put an SPI in the sky). Well, anyways, after you did all that you can lose your radar lock and the missile seeker circle should still be visible and can be dumb fired now. The missile follows pretty much a ballistic path like a regular unguided rocket except ARH ones, they may kinda guide themselves but it's really finicky. In the case of these anti ship missiles however, it might actually get a LOAL and be able to be used for ground RB. I am not responsible for any accidental teamkills.

Love all the new jet coverage, its been super helpful. But, i would also love to see you change it up with a prop flyout! Maybe an updated bf109 g2 trop video? Tier 3 is like food for the soul

I found the best way to play this is as a bomber. Takeoff turn 45 degree in relation to enemy airfield. Go into a 20 degree climb with wings somewhere between 33 and 76 percent for best lift and speed. Full afterburner until you reach 17-20 thousand feet. And bomb from the stratosphere with reverse thrust on to reduce your speed the best. After dropping load use your aims from high and behind. Finally hope the enemy team plays below 15 thousand feet or this whole process probably wont work.

I did a load of 1v1's against a buddy of mine who got the tornado ids, and from what we could tell its aoa seemed to get better at higher speeds (down to about .70 mach) if you cut the afterburner

Fun fact, it pulls slightly more AOA with the wings fully swept even if ur using sweep 0% and combat flaps…I love how unfinished this plane is.

I hope the ability to take a dump on dudes on the runway isn't patched out, seems like a hilarious option for very specific situations.

I love this thing in both a cas and a bomber role, it also dogfights fine if you drop your load, reminds me of a-5. The lower br makes this thung way more playable

Oh I want you to use the missiles like you mentioned. bring a friend to guide the missiles, then break off at the perfect angle for the missiles to track ground instead, def a come around to how they were supposed to be used (this and the fact that the marineflieger also supposed to have GBUs, but I prefer it to not get them since it would move it high up.)

the problem with the Mauser guns is, that 1/4 of its belt is consisting of Practice shells. Every time you get a hit with them, you know it was one of those shells...

I absolutely love that every reaction channel is saying this aircraft is crap when in all actuality it’s hands down the best base killer in the game. Carry full fuel and 5 1000 pound bombs plus sidewinders, add another bomb and drop tanks for large maps. Fly at tree top level, destroy base, turn slowly left and kill anything with sidewinders on your way back to reload, rinse and repeat. I don’t know if it’s because a British Tornado saved my LRS team in the Sunni Triangle or if it’s because landing a bus with reverse thrust is a blast but the German Tornado IDS is one of the most fun planes in the game if you play it like a bomber.

This thing made playing top tier russian aircrafts more painful. Now not only you have to fight against F-14 , F-16s also half of teammates playing Tornados just bomb mini bases then dies.

Maybe they focused you because you're a better player, and taking out a better player always gives a chance increase for a win. A lot of new players with premium jets around that dont bring any value to the team other than a free kill to the enemy team. (P.S. I also skipped from rank 4 props to premium jets)

Don't listen to Defyn : ) Yea as fighter ...well it's not hopeless but it's lackluster for sure, still, this is not really a fighter. Tornado has enough bombs to take almost 3 bases, 2 AIM-9L's so you can bite when you must, a good canon for strafing ground targets, large caliber countermeasures (but cut that throttle) this thing actually makes MONEY. I cannot believe that the repair cost is only 10K but for Skyray is twice as much although SL generation is not comparable at all.

Would have been great if they gave this Tornado a bit more for suspended armaments cause I am pretty sure the jet carried AGM-65D Maverick missiles but they don't show this thing with them. It is missing 2 3rds of its radar set and the 1 3rd it has does not even do what it is meant to do but does a completely different thing. It has ARI 23274 in game and it is not suposed to be a tracking radar instaed it is meant fir seeing where ground is. It ahould have an ARI 23273 as well which should be a different kind of a ground radar and lastly it should have a pulse doppler twc radar. So yeah the radar in that thing is fucked. I do not know what gajin tought when making the tornados.

What is the best country to do with a fast grind?

The biggest issue is the uptier margin, a mig21s or early harrier shouldn’t see this, but this also shouldn’t see an f14 or f16

The Komoran are actually great for killing helicopters. And Chaff should not work against these missiles if you stop locking with radar because they got IOG. In theory...

this thing has free 2 9L missile=one certain kill.and when i play this thing,i always meet 9.7 and 10.0 wallets...no one can take a base before me...maybe it is not good at dogfight...but as a free plane...it is already very good for me.And as a total mind...i think this thing is like a A5C+Juguar+F104=fast speed+very good missile and many bombs+not very good at dog fight
