In defence of Dair, 😆 Serena lied to Dan that blair had already picked chuck and then got him super drunk before he slept with her so I really blame this on her - especially since her actions had malicious intent (Blair needs to DROP Serena, she's so fucking toxic I can't) but he still shouldn't have slept with her 🥲 also serena f*cked dan in the same place where she slept with nate just to hurt blair which is honestly insane. I just ignore season 6 and dan being gossip girl coz it literally makes zero sense and honestly drives me insane lol Also I didn't like that nate pretended to still be into Blaire in season 1 because his dad wanted them to get married so he could strike a deal with Elanor, both nate and chuck treated blair as a comodity to be traded for money but nate was decent enough to feel guilty about it and come clean

Hiii, I love this take on Dan however I'd also mention that Serena also got Dan drunk and lied to him before having s3x with him so consent was rlly dubious.

I liked Dan and Blair together a lot, and I wish it had changed that Chuck and Blair went on to just be great friends and STOP GETTING TOGETHER, but the reveal of Dan as Gossip Girl was insane. It literally makes Dan a psycho, manipulating everything and all the girls he dated into dating him as a result of him being there to “comfort” and “support” them when it suited him and angry and “hurt” by them at other times. Him being gg made the entirety of him and Blair seem even more cruel of him. He ruined her life on the regular and then dated her? I wish anyone else had been gg, cause him and Blair were genuinely so cute and challenged each other while bringing out the best till you find out the truth about Dan.

i haven’t watched GG for a couple of years and have been a chuck and blair apologist for a while but watching this i was like the brittany broski meme bc yeah no he was so terrible to her throughout the seasons up until the last season basically 😭😭. the BIGGEST thing to consider though is that while he spent a majority of the show being super toxic for her, Blair would never be able to settle down with anyone else due to her carnal (?idk if that’s the right word lol) nature and how much it aligns with his. I think that Dan had a chance if not for the reveal that he is GG (bullshit/lazy storytelling) and was inadvertently the reason for her miscarriage (it was needed bc imagine the horror of her having a baby with that dude, but like it was still a super traumatic thing) because he’s the only other person that challenges her in the way she needs. overall though yeah I agree with this take and I wish they had given her ONE MAN who was good for her in every aspect and didn’t abuse her verbally and emotionally 😭😭😭😭

What I hate about chuck and Blair aren’t just for the obvious reasons: toxicity, ultimatums, conditional love, abuse, terrible communication, etc. I hated the fact that in the later seasons when chuck got therapy and started becoming somewhat of a better person, that they were so stubborn to get back together. “We can’t be together bc I need to protect you. I’ll always love you, but it’s for the best” PROTECT WHAT? The amount of times chuck let Blair go and then out of nowhere ruining her relationships is just so stupid and a waste of time. Same with Blair just always being in denial and then always going back to chuck but them never actually getting back together over more stubbornness. It just made me wanna say ugh I REALLY don’t want yall together cause you’re just annoying and indecisive 😂

I'm sorry but I hated Dan and Blair together. Their friendship was so refreshing and honest, they challenged each other and realized they were more alike than they thought. They were both studious and ambitious, they loved the arts and would do anything to secure their future. I loved the buildup to their romance, but the relationship itself was handled poorly. It was like they had to constantly be in agreement with each other for things to work, which fizzled out their chemistry. The whole reason they worked so well is that fire they had, easily matching and outsmarting each other.. Dan seeing through her icy exterior and Blair being able to let down her guard around him.

Tbh her best match was Dan but aint ready for it ...
