He was betrayed by Parker because of his gambling debts and not having a passport, then Red & Sonny West and Dave Hebler wrote the book 'Elvis What Happened' that came out just prior to Elvis passing away. Elvis always had a good reputation with his fans and associates and tried to keep his personal life as private as he could so Elvis was naturally hurt and upset because of the tell all book. God Bless Him. Everyone has gotten their piece of cake and Elvis paid the price. Lisa Marie said in an interview that most of them used Elvis because of the women he attracted and because he took care of them. Elvis had to perform to keep up with his lifestyle and to pay his large payroll. The lifestyle Elvis was accustomed to was a very expensive lifestyle. We Elvis fans who miss Elvis look beyond his faults and realize Elvis was human just like us. There will never be another entertainer of his caliber and was simply the best.

Saw Elvis 1973 Atlanta, front row stage level seating. The most AMAZING performer I had ever seen. Saw him 3 years later Atlanta, and my heart broke for him. Obviously very sick, slow, sweating profusely. He loyally sacrificed himself for those he loved! I have never forgotten this most beautiful man from 1973, and how far he had fallen. Truly tragic!

I was never an Elvis fan as I was a child during his big fame. As a teen in the late 60s my mom and I were in the car and his song "Can't Help Falling in Love With You" came on the radio. I always liked that song, and when it ended my mom, a little surprised, said he has a really good voice. My mom lived to age 97, and for whatever reason that moment stuck in my mind as a memory of my mom and me together. If for no other reason, that makes Elvis special to me. ❤

The only thing we can take from any of this is that it's truly another tragic story. The industry is evil. He was a pure innocent country boy before he got involved with the industry. His biggest mistake was signing that dotted line with Colonel Parker. From that day forward the industry owned him and he was a pawn. Not judging him in any way as he was surely judged when he got to the other side. He had to go along to get along. I believe he ended up doing things that he might not have done had he just stayed in Memphis and married a southern country girl. What makes me really sick is that ALL the people who claimed to be his friends/family sold him out AFTER his death. He also was a good friend with Mohamed Ali, yes the GREATEST boxer of all time, he even had a Robe made for him, but it was to much bling on it so Ali wouldn't where it more then one time to a fight. He really admired Martin Luther King very much, Elvis felt that all people are equal, unfortually he never got to meet him, that would have created to much problems for both of them at that time. He had several medical problems, Glaucoma, (Insomnia) sleeping problems, irritable bowel syndrome and that will make you constipated, these are things that affected his real life and made him need medication to function. Yes, he took medicines that today are considered to be called drugs, but at that time doctors prescribed it to him and to ordinary people, they did not know of the problems it could give people (side effects). He never took any so-called street drugs, but unfortunately he did not realize that those medications would be a problem for him, he thought that they where ordinary medicine because his doctor prescribed them to him and to everyone else that needed it. Many of his relativs died at a relatively young age, so even if he wouldn't have the medication, he might have died at about the same age. He could never be alone and thus himself, at that time the word superstar did not exist, so nothing could prepare him for that kind of life. Did you know that a big group of white people actually smashed his records and wanted to ban his music, just because they called the music he did so called N... music, that is so painfun to think that some people actually can think like that, skincolor is just color and nothing more, when will people realise that? There are some videos of when Elvis joking and messing up, he loved to joke around and pretend that he did not have control, but he had total control, he acctually conducted his musicans and back up choirs all the time ! He is the only person to have 2 records gone to sell Gold and 2 to to sell Platinum since he died. Elvis is also in almost every genre of Music Hall of Fame (5 that I'm sure of Rock 'n' Roll, Country, Gospel, Rockabilly and Rhythm and Blues), if Gospel is a genre in Music Hall of fame, then he should be in there to, but no one else is in more then perhaps 2 genres. Not bad for someone who never took a single singing lesson, yes he sang in church so perhaps he learned a little there, right? Something else that people tend to overlook: He always conducts his musicans and backup singers, he never gets credit for being able to do that. Imagen you are a singer, you have great musicans, you have great backup singers, no Guest Artists, no Autotune, no Lipsinging and no Fireworks, now all is about your skill, could you handle that pressure? At the time when Elvis started, then Autotune did not exist yet and when it became availible, then he still did not use it, he did not need to, he always sang so that you could hear every word that he sang, the Fans always felt that he sang to just you ! That is what Elvis did in over 1600 concerts (during his 20 years as an artist), despite having problems with his health, like his Glaucoma, the headlights must have hurt his eyes like crazy. He sang over 800 songs, I wonder how he could remember them all, he never vrote a song himself, so he had to remember other peoples lyrics, well that is amazing in it self. By the way he had Glucomea and that must have been difficult being in the headlights all the time, that could be why he sometimes closes his eyes, but also sometimes squinting ! This unfortually made him temporary blind after the shows, that is why they led him of the stage and into his car, that is something that not many people knew about Elvis. Elvis suits was made of 100% Polyester, or 100 cotton (I'm not sure witch one), it was originally a karate suit, it was very light, but it was hot, so it made him sweat a lot, he got some bad press about that, but if you give it all then you will sweat, it should be positive, right? So I told them that he was clearly one of the best singers and artists ever, but I loved his big heart more, he helped so many people without getting credit for it, he didn't want the credit of helping others, he did it out of love and respect and to me that is what true charity is all about. This PLACE (GRACELAND) should be a protected part of music history and also American history forever, I think that people will keep coming for years and years and years to come ! Elvis did lots of things for America to, he helped in a big way to avoid getting Polio (he took the vaccine in a TV show and that made the interest for taking the vaccine to go up from 0,6 % all the way up to 80 % in 6 months), so in 6 months he got 79.4 % more of the American people take the Polio vaccine and shortly after it was eradicated from USA, he also helped in the fight to defeat Cancer by helping to build up St:Judes children cancer treatment clinic by donating a huge amount of money to them, he also helped to build the Memorial over Pearl Harbour and many other things!

There have been and there are many documentaries about Elvis Presley. This one here was very interesting and a very good documentary about the late great and unfortunately very flawed Elvis Presley who was one of the greatest of the all time entertainers but after all is said and done he was just a human being and like most if not all human beings he had his flaws along with his immense talent.

And his comments about Elvis eating habits, Lamar has never been thin🙃 So many stars died of drug abuse but not 1/4 of them are mentioned, and certainly not this much. Elvis was born a star, lived the life as a star, he died a star and he's etched in the walk of fame as a star and to all those alive this day and remembers EP, and who were either family, friends or fans, like me, he'll always be a star. My Mum was born in 1944 and my Dad born in 1938 was EP fans and so my siblings and I grew up on a daily dose of EP. Still remember that day he died and the whole of the family in the home was so silent apart from the crying that would come and go, you could cut the atmosphere with a knife. A sad day that was. 'The King' Elvis Presly has died at the age of 42. It was on every TV channel all day and probably every day after that but that day especially and we only had 3 TV channels back then and then the following year about 7 and 1/2 months after EP died, my mother died and my dad had lost his Mum the same year, February 14th 1977. My Dad was shattered the day my Mum died, March 28th 1978. Mum was just coming up to her 34th birthday. She was with Elvis Presley and family then. EP was the man she idolised too. He is still a star in my mind.

So sad he never got the chance to broaden his acting career and play more complex roles with much better storylines. He really regretted that and it was a big source of frustration and disappointment to him. He had the potential to be a great actor. 😢

The Lord gave him to us for a short time. But the Lord knew the man Elvis. Elvis was just loaned to us but when God wanted him back He took him. Devastating to us but what a joyous jubilee for Elvis! Elvis got to see the real King! Nothing more precious than that.

Elvis crafted this woman on his mother’s image. He had talent, temper and the rein of control. His manager fed his ego and his wallet….to Elvis’ ultimate detriment. Elvis became “somebody”, he honest to God knew his Mother’s pain in losing his twin. He not only wanted to delight her, but others as well. What a contrast, in pleasing himself…..women, drugs, and a total dopamine rush on stage. It’s not a sustainable way of life - of excess, food, money, and celebrity. He was human, aging, in a very transitional time in music and culture. I was enamored with this man, was just a kid watching his movies and thinking “this” is the kind boy I want to marry. To be honest, I don’t like these guys influence or their ass kissing. They have zero respect for women. That marriage didn’t have a chance.

Gladys & Vernon used to beat each other up. The reason Elvis called home so often was to make sure Vernon wasn’t beating her up. Unfortunately she abused alcohol and Vernon was a womaniser.

This was a very good documentary on Elvis. You know Elvis was a lonely man. He couldn’t just walk down the street, or go to an airport, or do anything most human beings can do without being recognized. In my own humble opinion, that’s why he always had his entourage around. Of course it took an army to handle everything, but he just couldn’t go and do the things that beings could do, so sad. Being a creative person, I understand about having to do repetitive, the same Ol same Ol. I blame Parker for a lot of his problems. I’ve heard the story of the colonel’s gambling problems, many many times. I also think that he was pushed beyond his limits, the drugs didn’t help matters. Now after learning about his Mother’s health problems, dying at such a young age, then Elvis, it makes you wonder about Lisa Marie’s death at a young age. God just gave us Elvis for a little while. One of my regrets, I never got to see him live on stage. The closest thing is his Aloha from Hawaii. A least we still have his music. He’s The Only Music Icon of the 20th century. There’s been many stars, but NOBODY as BIG as Elvis. Yes, I’d say, he was born a Star ⭐️. You’re missed Elvis ❤😢

Parker was a user. He only seem to care what would bring him the most money via Elvis. Elvis wanted a singing and acting career. I don't think he really cared about the money. It's so sad. Especially knowing how young he was and didn't live long enough to see his daughter grow up and give him grandchildren. It really is a tragic story and so unneccessary. So many people have died so young, including my own brother who passed at only 39, and I sit sometimes and think about the amount of years I outlived some of these people.......and just wonder why. I have loved Elvis since I was 8,I am 62 now.I will never understand why Elvis did not take care of himself better.Spending money the way he did.The drug's.Not able to stand up to his Manager.Doing the bad movies,etc.Treating women and Priscilla the way he did.It makes me cry so hard watching this video.Elvis had so much to offer.But you could not tell Elvis what to do.Very sad.He ruined his own life.All the thing's that his friend's have done by writing book's about him.I would never do that to my friend.I don't know what Elvis paid his friend's but they could of left Elvis and they didn't.Elvis had alot of problem's.I wish his Mom would of lived maybe he would of been different.We will never know.I wish people would stop writing book's about him and just let it be.He is gone.His voice was so good and he was a good actor.But the fan's would not let him do the good movies they wanted the dumb singing ones.And he could not go out anywhere.I miss him to this day.Love you Elvis I wish he could of been more Happy about life!!!!!!

Elvis didnt want to be saved. He wanted to live how he lived.

He was just too good for this world and God wanted him back.

To me it was sad because he always had to perform he push hisself to much because he had alot of people depended on him and when he got sick elvis should of take care of his self and let people get second jobs to provide for their families

The sad thing for me as a lifelong fan is the way the many of the MM portray themselves as morally superior. These people lived off Elvis, they participated in his addiction! They didn't want to lose out on the lifestyle they had became accustomed to, which would surely happen if they said "no!" to him. They wanted their fair share of the girls, status, drugs, cars and lifestyle at Graceland. They all enjoyed the association with the King, no one would want to be cast out from that intoxicating environment. They all insert themselves as the good guys - they all say they were the one he confided in, trusted, protected him and - its so disingenuous. They never said no to him and enabled his addictions. Each one of them are painting themselves as the hero who who tried to stop the addiction/womanising/spending but it's utter self grandiosing BS!!! Most eere hangers on at best and suppliers of drugs & underage girls at worst.
