The Elvis Years

The Elvis Years

4 ай бұрын

Elvis Presley was born a star and is still called the King of Rock’n’ Roll. He made an enormous impact on people’s lives with his music, his shows and his loveable personality, but he had a darker side that very few people knew about. He was a complicated man with a big temper, and despite being surrounded by friends, family and his fans, he was lonely and became depressed. His quest for spirituality shows us that he was searching for answers and the meaning of life, and his spiralling drug problem played a big part into his ‘descent into hell’. His best years in Vegas are haunted by the dark times throughout the final years of his life. He became broken, and while he found fame, he lost himself. His death was sudden and tragic, but the signs were there all along that the King had become ill, and wasn’t up for the show anymore.

Elvis had a hunger to learn, evolve and grow. He never wanted to stand still and be a dinasaur. With all due respect because I love Billy and Joe, and all the boys around Elvis, but I feel a lot of the people around Elvis never understood that and ridiculed Larry because they did not understand that need in Elvis until much later on. Larry is right, Elvis was a very intelligent man and "beyond a superstar".

@@Val45678 to trumpet the latest smears against his memory, prompted by the latest Priscilla hit-job attempt at sullying his name. No mention of Priscilla's entrapment of the man &/or her prior sexual history! Clearly this video maker did not take the trouble of doing proper research. They show Graceland exterior and Audubon Drive, TN interiors of 1956-7 era when referring to 1960, 66 Perugia Way, California house. They show repeated photos and video of cocaine, when coke was not his go-to drug of choice. They paint Elvis as being a weirdo for seeking higher understandings of life & faith. This thing is weak and poorly researched.

@@deborahstevens9763 considered by men to be provocative, male thoughts about his movements. Even in the movie Elvis, the Colonel says , "Now, I don't know nothing about music. But I could see in that girl's eyes, he was a taste of forbidden fruit. She could have eaten him alive!" Young girls screamed at the Beatles and other "teen idols" and they didn't wiggle. Elvis loved his mom and dad and he loved his family so much! He loved the Lord and he loved people! He has the biggest heart and he gave people the real deal! People who talk bad about Elvis are either jealous of him or have something personal against him but folks Elvis is the man! @@mattskustomkreations, read this Destined to Die Young has been out for over two years now, but it continues to reach more and more people. The goal is for as many people as possible to understand just how sick Elvis was, especially in those last years of his life. Elvis Presley suffered from disease/disorder in 9 of the 11 systems of the body, with 5 of those being present since birth. In this video, I briefly explain each system and disease. Reading the book is still the best way to fully understand the roots of the disorders within his family tree and how they impacted his ability to be Elvis Presley. However, not everyone is a reader and this information is so vital to understanding the lifestyle choices of Elvis Presley that I wanted to provide it in another format as well. I hope this video is one more way the information can reach even more people. A KZfaq link is also provided below. Please share this post or the link so that even more people can fully understand that the story of Elvis Presley is most certainly one of survival and not self-destruction. ❤⚡❤ ( KZfaq Link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m5mFatSdv5bTdH0.html ) www.ElvisAuthor.com

He never used street drugs only prescribed medication. All his mafia were using prescribed medications to sleep and get through the day. People trying to remember back that many years are going to be inaccurate. Because he got angry then he had a bad temper, if he ate regularly then he gorged food. Any normal person under the conditions that Elvis lived wouldn't have lasted as long as he did. No one said no to him about anything, friends say no to their friends. He needed a hard and loving hand to let him know how bad things had become. Looking back at how he was raised, much we probably don't know about! In a ghetto until he was over 20! That had to have had a huge effect on him, his twin dying at birth and the death of his mom. I heard an interview from a woman who had known him for many years. She was at a party in Palm Springs at Elvis house before he went to Memphis the last time. She said he looked tired but stated he needed to do one more tour before taking a 6month rest to get healthy and go off in a new direction. Someone said he wanted to join a gospel quartet! He was ready for a change in his life! Then he died a few weeks later. The world lost Elvis from wanting so much of him. He had so many physical problems that needed time to heal before he could embark on a new career. I'm so tired of these Hollywood stories about him, he was used up and thrown out.......😢

I mean Elvis was dirt poor. Why wouldn’t he have a desire for nice things? Look at todays artist? They spend like crazy. You go from wondering how you going to make ends meet to having millions of dollars to spend at your finger tips. Nobody was complaining when Elvis was buying them cars and homes and stuff. They rolled with Elvis and didn’t mind taking what Elvis had to offer. I read somewhere where they were paid like $35-$45 dollars a week. Yet they ate at the best restaurants drank the best alcohol traveled all over all at Elvis expense. They’d even shared the women. A life of luxury at Elvis expense. They drugged with Elvis uppers and downers prescription or not. A lifestyle that without Elvis they would not have ever had. It makes me upset that they NOW have so much concern for Elvis. I think out of Elvis Memphis Mafia Family Jerry Larry and Billy were the only ones who really cared about Elvis and his health. Jerry wasn’t there he left to manage The Beach Boys. Jerry was upset at Elvis recent performance and called Col Parker on the condition Elvis was in. Larry tried to ground Elvis and open him up to spirituality and Billy was blood family. The rest of them rode the Elvis gravy train until the wheels fell off. By the time certain people was fired it was to late the damage was done. Col Parker holds a major responsibility for the decline of Elvis as well. He allowed Dr. Nick to give Elvis drugs so he could sleep and drugs so he could perform. From the early early days Elvis has always had problems with sleeping. In a early interview Elvis stated that he’s never been able to sleep no more than 4-5 hours at a time a night. Col Parker knew this and still pushed prescription drugs on Elvis. Elvis had such anxiety from being poor and returning back to that that he just couldn’t wouldn’t stop. He had so many things he was responsible for. He was loyal to a fault and that drove him. I honestly believe God took Elvis to give him the peace he lacked so much in his life. To relieve him of all that Elvis felt responsible for. God knew Elvis on his own would never stop he’d push himself literally until he died. Elvis changed the world. That was his destiny he was a trend setter and he tore down stereotypes and opened up music to the world. So on August 16 1977 God said enough Elvis you’ve fulfilled my destiny for your life come on home son. Let me save you from yourself. The world lost Elvis but Heaven gained an angel. I read the Elvis was gone before he hit the bathroom floor. God didn’t let Elvis suffer anymore and it was quick. Someone said Elvis wasn’t meant to grow old. Elvis timeline was Gods plan. Could Elvis had made life changes and started to enjoy the life he created? I think yes but due to those around him that influenced him it just wasn’t possible. He didn’t die alone God was with him. We miss Elvis but he’s no longer suffering. RIP Elvis Presley The King of Rock and Roll FOREVER!!!!!

What a surprise!. It would be a shock if they actually got something right.. Do they honestly do any real open and honest research, I doubt it. It pays more to slag Elvis off, then to tell the truth. We all know that he wasn't perfect, neither are we,, no not one. At the end of the day, these people can only do one thing and that is to try and pull Elvis down to their level. And try as they might, they'll never pull him down so low. Elvis would never have stooped so low, and in that alone he remains so much higher than them. Elvis did not have a gambling addiction, that was the Colonel, and Elvis did not use cocaine! I don’t hear any of Elvis’s entourage who were interviewed here saying he used cocaine. They only mention sleeping pills, amphetamines - clearly all prescription drugs. It’s the narrator of the documentary who has taken it upon himself to claim this, which is obviously untrue. Not sure why he stated this, but he’s misleading his audience and makes the documentary lose some credibility imo! 👎🏼

The ONLY 'street' drug I ever heard of Elvis 'doing' was the story Sonny told about them getting zooted on a good joint while watching a football game on TV. Cocaine? Never. Gambling?? He despised 'degenerate' gambling....like that of the Colonel's. Elvis GAVE money 'away'....not 'throw' it. He brought (and bought) JOY to people with his (talent and) money....while HALF of the plentiful fruit of his labors was 'fodder' at a gambling table. But, to his eternal credit, the Colonel DID 'bring' us Elvis; 'orchestrating' things like 'Aloha'....an incredible, unmatched, unparalleled 'event' in Elvis's, 'our' and the WORLD'S history. Without the COLONEL....no 'Elvis'. And THAT'S a fact!

I think elvis had more power than he knew , how many people can just dive up to the White House unannounced and go in to see the president, too bad he didn’t put his foot down and say arrange a concert tour of Europe and Asia, I think that would of helped him stay in good shape at least for a few more years and maybe longer , he said in an interview he wanted to do that , he quickly got in shape for the satellite show because it was a challenge for him .

I agree this was overall very good. But what do you think of the fact that the book by Red West, Sonny West, and Dave Hebler was not mentioned? (Elvis: What Happened?). Elvis was devastated that it was going to be published. He died a couple of weeks after it came out. I think some of Sonny's genuine emotion in this documentary stems from his guilt at writing that tell-all expose'.

I take issue with this documentary because Elvis was not known (from everything I’VE heard for many, many years) to do ‘lines of cocaine’. And I NEVER heard of him having a “gambling problem” (huh?? That’s Andreas). We’re getting AWAY from the negative, unfounded or substantiated rumors and falsehoods about Elvis now (‘racist’ this, ‘underage girls’ that). Let’s not add a whole new SUITE of things he was never known to take part in. The man was a gift. Period.

I had a teeny heart necklace made from the Cadillac of Elvis, bonafide, even had a certificate of authenticity! $3.99 if I remember correctly.....it was 1978.

CORRECTION ~ It has been stated and confirmed that Elvis NEVER took illegal drugs ~ ONLY those given to him by his doctor as a prescription. He had many health issues as you will read in the meticulously researched book "Destined to Die Young" by Sally Hoedel. NEVER did he take cocaine or any other illegal drug. He died with 9 diseases in his 11 bodily systems ALL were genetic from his ancestors intermarrying. He was born with 5 as he grew older an additional 4 developed. Larry Geller (I have his book "If I Can Dream:") LIED many times in it as many authors did including the Memphis Mafia. When researching data re Elvis or Marilyn there are a LOT of lies concocted to sell books. Many by people who claim to have known them, but never did. I will be extremely careful as to what data I hear out of your documentaries like sadly, so many and now, another BS movie piling lies upon this man who isn't here to defend himself. Anyone who know anything about Elvis knows he NEVER took illegal drugs.

His entourage sounded butt-hurt about the fact that Elvis was open-minded and wanted to expand his awareness, especially as he wasn't allowed to leave the US and explore other cultures first-hand. And of course, they were butt-hurt, their cash cow was gaining insights and knowledge that expanded more than sex, drugs and rock n roll, which is clearly all they wanted. A free ride to "Dopamine Central". No wonder Elvis ended up like he did. He was surrounded by hangers-on who couldn't engage in intellectual and profound conversations. Being stuck with that every day, no wonder he got fed up and bored with his life. He realised he was giving everything, and no one was giving anything back to him. He wasn't perfect, but he was kind and self-aware enough to realise what was going on. Rest in peace, Elvis. I'm so glad I came to see you years ago!

Elvis was no different except for fame at only 21 and money to do what he wanted to do. Hell Hendricks, Jopin, and Morrison lasted 3 years and were dead. Elvis got what he wanted and those doctors allowing this to go on says more about them and their failure of care, that it was Elvis feeding their egos like the guys around him only claim to fame was knowing him and they all sold him out for fast money as well as his ex-wife Priscilla has done for over 40 years.
