Actually, apparently Barbie is supposed to be older now than when she was first introduced. I believe she was originally marketed as "a teenage fashion model". Currently, I believe she's supposed to be 19. Technically, she's still a teenager, but she's older than when she was created.

Have to admit, the older ones are a tad bit creepy to me. The first one in 1959 looks like Lucy from 'I love Lucy'. I love antique and older toys anyway. I find them unique
