2:40 There should be a petition to get beam struggles back in DBZ. Naruto Ultimate Ninja on PS2 had clashes that spontaneously happened like beam struggles and you had to mash a button faster than your opponent. That style is perfect for Fighterz, Spontaneous Beam Struggles and you use X,Triangle,Square, OR Circle to decide who wins by way of mash.

Bardock x Freeza wasn't really a struggle though, Freeza's Supernova just consumed Bardock's attacks while it was still gathering energy.

BT3 and Burst Limit are the best You can feel the struggle just by lookin Having the screen shake is a Good addition

You forgot the very first beam struggle of the entire series :( Goku's Super Kamehameha vs Piccolo's Destructive Wave during the 23rd Budokai.

BT1 or 2 (or both) used to have a mechanic where you could press the ki charge or ki blast button to drain your ki to zero but boost your attack power during the struggle and for some reason that’s the mechanic I miss the most from these games

It's sad knowing Beam Struggles are a lost art It's good to know Kakarot and Legends have them, but I've gone so long in both games w/o encountering them. Plus Legends is just a typical Arts Card Struggle and Kakarot has a lot of hidden mechanics like Super Finishes, which look badass.

if xenoverse 3 becomes a thing. I hope beam clashes are in.. similar to raging blast or the bt3

It's just a different more exhilarating atmosphere when the character distance is smaller like in Budokai 3 or burst Limit. Especially in Budokai 3 where there could be a beam struggle by accident at any point. No matter how close you from each other. Lol. Best times I had with dragon ball!

here's what I like about the DBZ games I played Budokai 3: Not too many characters Budokai Tenkaichi 3: Interesting way to collect the dragon balls and a great open arena for fighting Raging Blast 2: Nice character selection variety and interesting controls Ultimate Tenkaichi: Good playthrough of the sagas and able to create your own Saiyan Xenoverse: Interesting character creations and great gameplay mechanics
