@@TheMINIac true. But I still think the F57 is one of the rare choices of “stylish affordable convertibles”in the market today. I remember decades ago, there used to be more choices of entry price convertibles, be it from Japan, US and Germany.

@the miniac I have decided to get a F57 Cooper over the S at last. Even though the S comes with better bumper and gas cap styling, more horsepower and sport seats. Considered that I rarely speed or high rev and the few thousands dollars cheaper. I opt for the 16” Victory wheels, not 17” and hope they “help” acceleration the the smaller 3-cylinder engine. And I also think small wheels do look nice and classic like the old Minis do. Excited for my first Mini.

That JCW exhaust note may convince me to get the JCW convertible. I have been looking at the S but that exhaust sound is just beautiful.

@@TheMINIac I forgive you. :) You learnt there is Mini One Convertible and I learnt you haven't got them in the US. Shame though, little sweet nippy ones, a few changes around furniture and a few dozens of horse power less which I don't mind because I don't use motorways to have need for speed.

@@TheMINIac It is a real shame, One is definitely a great alternative to Cooper and II Gen is reliable and doesn't have many common tech faults. I really wanted Cooper but after close investigation, I realised it is a difference for a collector. Found my perfect Hot Chilli and there isn't many of them on the market either, especially in automatic as the UK is still pretty much in the manual mode. It has a cheap road tax and miles per gallon are also amazing. For my daily trips to work I'm paying £60 a month for almost 500 miles drove. What not to love? I only have to eliminate all the chrome and make it black and it will be my perfect ride.
