I attended LSU in Baton Rouge 1972-1979 and sew the T-Birds several times at a club called "Chief's".I spent the summer of 1977 living in Austin and saw them many times there at Antone's and elsewhere. Back to LSU in the fall of 1977 and saw them any time they came to town. Left LSU in 1979 for Houston and saw them there at Rockefeller's. This 1982 show appears to be from a club called Trinity's in Baton Rouge (possibly a successor to the Kingfish club.)

Yes, Keith went on to play in the Tail Gators with Don Leady and Mudcat Smith. There was a lot of cross-pollination between the T-Birds, the Tail Gators, and the LeRoi Brothers.

Saw them in Melbourne in 1988…. They had this hypnotic vibe where through understatement they pushed the crowd to screaming point… something about the way they swing… that combined with Jimmie’s absolute mastery of playing on the edge… this was the definitive lineup… don’t know why Jimmie left and never came back but there has never been a fitting replacement… love these guys Bassist RIP

Hey Prof-I did a show with Wilson in '04 that was four-piece. The tour had Gene Taylor on piano and Billy Flynn on guitar, but they did not make this particular show, so it was just Wilson, Troy Gonyea on guitar, Richard Innes on drums and me on bass. Did a buncha early T-Birds, et cetera, and it was a stone blast!

@@vayabroder729 Actually, Keith played less loudly than Jimmy! The band played through a PA system and the sound was recorded through the mixer. Jimmy's amp volume was so high on stage that it didn't require much from the PA. That's why he's barely audible in this video!
