Airguns should be more than 12 ft/lb. That's the conclusion of Episode 31 of AirHeads. Roger Lait makes the case for the 'FAC' airgun. Phill Price shoots a BSA .25 calibre in FAC. Plus there is HotAir News and Airstreaming showcasing the best of airgunning on KZfaq.

i live in the USA, and yes we can have high power air guns, you can just get them at and any sports shops. i have a gas ram break barrel that is 25 ft/lb. i got with no questions asked. but one thing I wish is that air guns where more popular over here in the US. not to many people have heard of H.F.T. shooting and it is a very fun sport that should be more popular. so for now I just hunt fox, squirrel, and rabbit with my break barrel all by myself 😢. great video keep up the work

One thing i found about removing magpies with a ,25 was when they hit the ground it looked like every drop of blood emptied from the body....every time.Very clean kills every time.Hits hard and makes a big hole....

When does Phil price say he shoots a .25 in fac??? I just saw him say he wasn't sure if they where any better than his .22 he currently uses.

I took out a squirrel at 50 yards with my Beeman R10 while it was on the run and airborne diving for its hole. When I got to the hole, all that was sticking out were two hind feet.

What a great summary about FAC vs 12 ftlbs. I couldn't agree more. Having FAC definitely gives the extra range, maybe 20 to 30 yards extra.(if you, unlike me, can shoot straight enough at those ranges in the field). After that you would have to be Bruce Willis to be sure of hitting the target time and time again. However, if like I was about 5 years ago, without an FAC ticket and obsessing about getting FAC....relax. You may just be a happier air gunner staying at sub 12. I am not saying that FAC is not great, but I am saying that for some it comes with more problems than it is worth. If you are happy to take all shots within 25 yards then pound for pound (11.5 lbs to be precise) I would stick with the sub12. With FAC comes all sorts of extra pressure (pun intended). The regulation that goes with FAC is quite wearing. Also, ( and this is complicated) higher ftlbs at shorter ranges (sub 25 yards) can be a positive disadvantage in terms of clean kills ( see airgunforum.co uk and the thread 'hitting rats too hard'). It may be the case that by complete accident the UK authorities set the legal limit at the perfect level at 12 ftlbs. Keep up the good work however, great video and really enjoyed it!!

For the bsa r10... you can make a metal plate that comes off the stock so you can mount a sling further forward. Doing this will balance the gun out while on the shoulder.

your .25 doesn't hit harder than .22 because you're shooting 18 grainers. I'm using 25-28 grain pellets for my 30 fpe .25 cal break barrel. thats how you use the .25 cal airgun to hit hard.

Another none believer of the 80 + yard shots with sub 12fpe. Sorry, but if you cant down rabbits at 60 - 80 yards with a sub 12 air rifle, what are you even doing on this channel? All it takes these days is the right kit and a little knowledge, it's not hard. I do it day in day out! And the way he spoke of 50 ft/lbs seems he is way out of touch!! In the UK 50 - 70fpe is common, in the U.S 100 - 500fpe is more normal, 50fpe is nothing these days
