It's so cute to see Drew completely geeking out, because if I had my own talk show and the Facts girls came on as surprise guests I'd be doing the same. I also am glad that Nancy McKeon seems to own her association with the show more than she used to, for a long time she wouldn't even discuss it in interviews and wouldn't partake in cast reunions

Nancy's brother, Phillip McKeon, played Tommy on the sitcom, Alice. Phillip died a couple of years ago.

@@singerspeak1 it was in the 90s/early 2000s when she was mostly starring in serious tv movies and the sort and didn't want to be associated with a "cheesy" sitcom she did in her teens and early 20s. Seems like as she's gotten older, she's mellowed on it and acknowledges how much people love Facts Of Life. She's not the only 80s actor to act like that, John P Navin Jr (who was Natalie's boyfriend in the military in a few episodes of Facts and left the industry after his teens) refuses to speak about any of his acting gigs because he's in his 50s now and doesn't want to be defined by a handful of roles he played when he was 14-15 years old. I get it, but it is great that Nancy has come around to Facts.

I loved the Facts of Life. I'm 55 now and I still watch the show on KZfaq. All 3 of these ladies have such a great look. in different yet equally admirable ways. I love all of them!!!

This is wild! Back in the mid 80s, you would see a commercial for The Facts of Life show one minute and, then, a commercial for a movie staring Drew Barrymore, the next!

It makes total sense why Drew was a big fan. Female friendship, found family dynamic, and a mother figure. Facts of Life was an inspiration to many...and Drew is a big example of how a show can influence someone.

Wow. This was also my favorite TV show growing up. I identified with Nancy's characher of Joe. I never thought about why I love the show so much. Drew's thoughts about family and not being part of the traditional family nailed it for me. I am sure this show saved so many latch key kids from feeling even more alone.

I agree. I saw her on Real Housewives of Atlanta a couple years back. She looks great like the rest of this cast still does. I read where she will be with the remaining cast for a reunion show in Aug 2024 for the 45th year anniversary Facts of Life special. So she was probably working on another project and wasn't available to attend Drews Birthday surprise.
