The Divine Council Worldview is a theme that is baked into the whole of the Biblical narrative. So it makes perfect sense that this also connects with the Letter of Revelation.
This episode will help you connect the dots between the Book of Revelation and the Divine Council Worldview.
My early life as a believer was filled with preaching on the end times and living in fear of the tribulation and missing out on the rapture. So much energy and fear put towards a subject that seem to lead me away from the peace Jesus seemed to be offering.
But then God...
God has led me to a multitude of awesome teachers like Tim Mackie of the ‪@bibleproject‬ and Dr. Michael Heiser Author of the Unseen Realm ‪@DRMSH‬ Both of which led me to this incredible author and scholar Matthew Halsted and his book "The End of the world as You Know It - What the Bible Really Says About the End Times and Why it is Good News."

Christians are constantly fascinated with the subject of the end times. Even as we just had a solar eclipse pass over the U.S.A. many thought the end was near and that was Rapture was finally here....again.

Thank you for putting this together. As American Christians we need to be reminded that we do not fight against flesh and blood or political persuasions. For sure, the Bible reveals the spiritual forces directing the wickedness that works to kill, steal and destroy us. Jesus gave us the path to victory through walking in his spirit, living a life in righteousness and truth and loving others as He loves us.

I remember when someone pointed out to me that God didn't do anything to create.. He just spoke. And like you, the light came on about the power of God's word! And mostly all we have today is his written word, maybe he speaks to some people still, not sure about that! But there is also great power in his written word. Wow! Just love it when that light bulb comes on 😁

Thank you my brother for explaining it so perfectly ! So many Christians today think it’s about church attendance or religion when it has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with either of them . There’s only ever been just one thing God has ever wanted or desired and that’s to have a close very personal relationship with the King of the Universe and the one and only true God who’s created everything for himself and to be obedient unto him alone and to have a close personal relationship with him alone. It’s never been about religion or church attendance ever but about relationship with our messiah Yeshua . I’m constantly reminded of today’s replacement theology that somehow the church and those who claim to be born again Christians have replaced the Jewish people and that somehow God’s finished with the Jewish people using their new doctrine and believing that it was the Jewish people who killed and murdered the one and only Jewish messiah Yeshua upon the cross when it’s the scriptures that clearly teach us that it pleased the Father to sacrifice the Son , God himself in human form and conceived by the Holy Spirit and yet was still very much human who was tempted just as we are but never committed a sin in his life to please the Father.

Not everyone in the body of Christ believes that the church replaced Israel..from studying on my own there’s no Bible verse that states that. I read that we will be ONE in Christ and we will receive the same benefits. Also no one knows for sure who the real Jews are. Revelation 2:9; 3:9 tells us we will know who they are when Christ returns so we continue to love Yahweh and Yehsua and the Holy Spirit and love each other as we love ourselves. We continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem until Messiah comes. The ‘Jewish’ system…not the real Jews…currently run the world empires. All will be revealed Peace love grace and blessings

I disagree with the assertion on God’s wrath and non-violence. My contrary example would be how the angel of God judged Herod by smiting him physically that he died and was eaten of worms. I think the Old Testament is full of judgments that were bloody to say the least and didn’t preclude a withdrawal of God’s presence.

There is a time for everything, a time for peace and a time for war - Eccl. While I can agree to the rule of Christ in many ways as thru peace and love, your assumption is that God cannot rule thru any empire, either OT Israel nor NT USA. Both Can and was corrupted, but alas the fruit and calling has been real.

You said that God wages war not through the sword but through the cross. What about the ethnic cleansings prior to and at the immediate occupation of the promised land such as the command in Deuteronomy 20:16-17. Or are you saying that after the cross, God no longer uses the sword to wage war? And what are the biblical evidences for this conclusion?

@@ringthembells143 I saw that video and I also read Paul's message in Romans 2:1-11. Yes, God will kill when He needs to end a “cancer” of evil so that His will may be furthered and certainly not thwarted.

The people mentioned in Deuteronomy 20 were giants, that’s why God gave the order to destroy them. They were descendants of the nephilims.

@@sammyo2583 Indeed. And it was not only due to the Nephilim descendants, but the abominations including sexual sin that God was cleansing the land of (see Leviticus 18:24 ff). My point is that while God exhibits a tremendous degree of patients and tolerance for people to repent, He will put His foot down and kill if necessary to accomplish His will even on this side of the cross. Look at Ananias and Sapphira.

The video is very good but no where in Revelation is Rome connected to the happenings which transpire in Revelation. It is so clearly a "yet to come" prophecy. Nero did not rule the whole world. He also did not cause "ALL" to receive a mark. However the teaching of the divine council is incredibly interesting and i find Heiser's teaching very informative.

The message against humanempire is not the primary message of Revelation. It may be a sub level truth, but is more so, satan’s empire bs God’s kingdom. The Idealist view of Revelation is a secondary application but not a primary interpretation. God gives prophecy to find fulfillment is time and history , albeit dual fulfillments can be argued. I love Heiser and find very little I can question or disagree. I believe the Lord gifted MH to the church for much insight he gave. The end will be physical and violent, but it won’t be you and I with AR15s. When Jesus returns, there is judgement . When the world rises to surround God’s people, scripture says the king will establish dominion and blood will flow, and we, figuratively , gorge on their flesh.

Y’hu gave man dominion over the earth in the garden of Eden. Yeshua came and with his death took it back. Daniel 7 is Yeshua (after his ascension) giving the kingdom back to Y’hu….not the other way around.
