The Fall of Saigon - HD Raw Footage Captures Panic and Terror of Vietnam War's End (1975)

Ай бұрынOn 30 April 1975, the South Vietnamese capital of Saigon fell to advancing troops of the North Vietnamese regular army, marking an end to the conflict that, for more than 20 years, had split Vietnam in two. To the United States of America, the fall of Saigon represented the ignominious defeat of its decades-long military intervention in the region. In the final days before the fall, as American civilians, diplomatic staff, press, and military personnel sought to evacuate the city before NVA tanks arrived, ITN cameraman Peter Wilkinson and reporter Michael Nicholson made their way to the US embassy compound in the hope of boarding a flight out of the city. Upon arriving at the embassy, Wilkinson filmed as local civilians looted the abandoned embassy building. Thousands of South Vietnamese crowded at the gates in the hope of being evacuated with Western civilians. State employees, citizens who had assisted the war effort, and those who simply feared what the NVA would bring begged for a route to safety for themselves and their loved ones. This footage filmed by Wilkinson captures in incredible detail the human tragedy of Saigon's fall, and has been stunningly restored in high definition to be presented here.

This is actually film footage of the US Embassy getting looted and ransacked after the final 11 US Marines were airlifted out of Saigon earlier that morning.

At the end, the north Vietnamese soldiers took everything and carried that back to North Vietnam.

@@duquemann27, of course, VN is super wealthy now thanks to the Vietnamese immigrants from all over the world pouring money in to help their families, relatives, friends… after escaping from the communist government. Only the communist government is wealthy, the majority of people are dirt poor and miserable.

I only criticized the V.iet Cong, not criticizing Vietnam. 1) In the past 49 years, the Vietnamese's average salary, *earning PER day* and *NOT able to buy 1 roast duck,* even 2024, 1 roast duck? What about social security, V.iet Cong is a Io.os.er 2) 39 vietnamese hided in the frozen truck *died* trying to escape Vietnam and going to a western country. 3) 10 vietnamese from the Vietnam's *congress* / planes became the ILLEGAL immigrant of the South korea, what? those that are from the *Congress* (Kim Ngân) group that visited S. Korea and tried to illegally stay there, just South korea? that tells it all.

@1012pear Việt Nam phát triển thì không thấy đâu mà thấy người dân thất nghiệp dài dài, nhiều doanh nghiệp phá sản đóng cửa, công ty nước ngoài rút vốn đầu tư chuyển sang nước khác. Nền giáo dục bại hoại mua bằng cấp, học xong Đại học ra trường không có việc làm phải đi lái Grab. Thực phẩm độc hại từ Tàu + sẽ gây ung thư bệnh tật sau này. Nô lệ lao động (XKLĐ) qua Nhật, Hàn Quốc, Đài Loan hàng năm đứng đầu thế giới. Không khí thì ô nhiễm, khí hậu nóng bức vì tàn phá môi trường (chặt hết cây xanh/bê tông hóa), lũ lụt khi mùa mưa tới, miền Tây thiếu nước ngọt, đất đai nhiễm mặn không trồng trọt được. Rồi đây Việt Nam sẽ thiếu thốn lương thực trầm trọng bắt buộc phải nhập cảng gạo từ Thái Lan sẽ không xa lắm đâu nha.

Saigon was fallen down very tragically by Communist and the Communist Soviet Union was fallen in 16 years later with the calmed transit. But the Russian want back all lands. The Russia already starts the war with Ukraine for lands and sea. If Russia loses the history will repeat the division of Russia union into many nations as Russian wishes list.

Nhìn lại những hình anh này thấy đâu buon và chưa xot cho miền nam vn ngay 30 thành 4 kỳ niệm 49 nam ngay miền nam vn bị cs bắc Việt chiếm vi vay sau ngay 30 tháng 4. Người vn ko sống nổi với che do cs phải bỏ nước ra đi tìm tu do bang mới phuong tiền và người vn phải luu vong trên toàn thế giới và bây giơ nhìn lại 1 miền nam vn bây giơ toàn thấy người dân miền bắc vo sống. Còn người miền nam đã ra di nước ngoại rất nhiều. Quí vi nhìn thấy doi song cuộc sống người dân trên 80 phan tram là người Miền Bac vo miền nam ko. Còn người miền nam đi nước ngoại hết rồi
