You might have noticed the Liver King clogging up your Twitter timeline lately with his paid ads. I know I have. Join me in documenting his full story to try and make sense of why he ended up where he is, and what might have compelled him to begin this whole experiment in the first place. It's gross.

Fun fact: When he showed up for the Iced Coffee Hour Podcast, he told Graham and Jack it would just be him, his chef, and his wife. He ended up showing up to our house with 15-18 people. Among this and other things, we asked them to not leave doors open as to not let out the dog and cat. They repeatedly left doors open. Thank goodness our cat didn't like them and was hiding in the bedroom away from the open doors. Definitely one of my top 3 least favorite podcast guests we've had come to the house

Some people underestimate how much kids died before our "medical revolution". Yes, sometimes if the body and immune system is lucky to be strong enough to withhold the environment, you'll have a healthy child. But now we literally have sicker kids instead of dead kids. If a kid needs to use epipen, it's imo much better than a regular 17th centry little child dying because of untreated astma. Some people don't understand you can't 'treat' your children. Nowadays a lot of kids you see every day would be dead a century ago. I hope some people will appreciate this....

I’m gobsmacked that some people think ancient humans ate raw meat all the time. Sure, some cultures exist where raw meat was eaten, but they still prepared it to be enjoyable. Half the reason we even started to evolve larger brains was cooking our food to get more nutrients out of it. It’s possible we where cooking with fire as long as 1.5 million years ago and we where certainly cooking by 250,000 years ago. And for those wondering the Indus Valley civilisation had rudimentary dental care as early as 7000 BCE.

His blatant abuse of his children is the worst part of all this. Children need more protection. Parents don't own their children. They're not their puppets / props / possessions to do as they see fit with. A child is a responsibility, not a right and that is a consciousness shift that needs to happen. Social services need to be more empowered to remove children from the 'care' of narccissistic parents who act through for THEIR good, not their child's. People who aren't fit to be parents need to learn it is not their right to be so.

So a poorly placed shot can lead to inhumane outcomes. And for trophy hunters it can ruin the rack (which is a fucking shitty reason to not use a humane shot). Lungs are a much larger target and pretty easy to hit consistently, but causes death by suffocation. Which is much faster then a gut shot but still can take about a minute. @@piranhaplant2555 typically you'd prefer to aim at the chest area of the animal right behind the shoulder. Better chance to hit lungs or heart. Also after you hit the animal it's best to wait a few minutes to allow it to die. Sometimes a deer may lay down but still be alive, so running up to it may cause it to jump up and defend itself. Very dangerous. Shooting at the head is not very easy. It moves a lot and is a small target when compared to the chest.

The sheep he shot is called a "Texas Dall" (in a sad attempt to compare it to the wild Dall's Sheep of the mountains of Alaska and the Yukon Territory). It's a cross of domestic sheep and European wild sheep that has massive horns. It's bred specifically for sad loser dudes to shoot and pretend they did something cool. *edited because someone educated me that the European Mouflon is actually a feral/wild subspecies of sheep. It's actually a cool history and interesting genetics when I looked into it. And here I thought they were just a breed of sheep because that's what I was told in Hawaii where they run feral.

Our early, pre-civilization, ancestors got their teeth ground down to stubs. I was going to mention this - dental related conditions and diseases was a huge mortality factor for pre-agricultural people. Like, around 30% or more would die from bacterial infections in the mouth/jaw that would then spread into their bloodstream. There's a reason why dental hygiene issues are can be so serious yet so common even today.
@EricKaiser-um2bz

That’s totally inaccurate our ancestors didn’t have a high sugar/preservate diet. Tooth decay at an early age wasn’t common and even if it did happen Im pretty sure they’d figure out how to pull a tooth before literallly dying.
@Yawyna124
@Yawyna124 3 ай бұрын
@@EricKaiser-um2bz You severely underestimate the complexity of removing an abscessed tooth. There's a reason we usually instead drill out the core and drain them - attempting to remove them can cause jawbone damage and decay, further infection in the open pit where the tooth used to be. This assumes you can even remove it around all the swelling that can happen. And they may have had less sugar, but they also ate less mechanically processed food which will erode your teeth all the same. The average is definitely skewed from child mortality - once humans get past their early years, we probably lived for decades - it's unlikely that it was common for people to not know their grandparents - but dentalwork is very complicated.

Absolutely. But also: there is zero chance our early ancestors ate only or even mostly meat the way he is promoting. Hunting was dangerous and had a high energy cost to hunt (and that's if a hunt was even successful). Gathered plant based food almost certainly accounted for the majority of the caloric intake. There are still hunter gatherer tribes alive today that support this. Meat was a luxury to supplement the diet, not the basis. PLUS we literally evolved from herbivores who developed some omnivorous traits. Pretending this kind of diet is in any way natural or healthy is insane.

I'm no dentist, but I'm willing to bet that if you somehow take out ALL sugar (especially the refined stuff) from your diet, your teeth are going to naturally stay healthy for longer. There was this study about historical human dental healthcare. Basically around the Renaissance period when sugar and sweets became a thing, people started showing a lot more tooth-related issues than people from previous eras. And yes, oral hygiene (brushing) was always a thing, even back then.
