It's because cancel culture isn't real. It's a lot of talk, and a lot of outrage, and a lot of tweets, but nobody has ever actually gotten deplatformed in a meaningful way. Money talks, audiences don't care, boycotts don't work.

Cancel culture really only works on people with a conscious. If you have no conscious or even like being cancelled because it will provide publicity, then it will not affect you. You can have KZfaqrs who openly support bigotry, and they'll be fine. Then you have KZfaqrs who for the most part aren't offensive, or even support progressive messages, but then they have one tweet that could be interpreted as bigoted if someone really wants it to, and they can get bullied off the platform.

Many such cases of that. Chris Brown, Keemstar, Woody Allen...there's a long list.

dont let them do shit completely unmonitored. don't go all helicopter on them, but make sure they aren't watching this shit. you can't stop them from seeing all of it, but at the very least you'll know that they're watching it and you can guide them through it. tell them how awful it is, and show them something a little more enriching. as in, almost anything else. ensure they don't get sucked in, that's the most you can do without keeping them largely offline. As a kid i didn't really use the internet or watch youtube, which i think was a solid move, really. i had access to a bunch of games, even from a young age, but i understood i shouldn't play some of them because it could give me nightmares and such. I did a lot of Starcraft, played on the PS2, stuff my parents got when they were kids. admittedly, i've always been perceptive, but you can still keep your kid safe as long as you're checking in on them. you don't need to obsessively monitor their behavior, but don't leave them unobserved either. Make sure you know at least the generalities of what they're doing. make sure they know it's not that they can't be trusted, it's that not all people online can be trusted, that sort of thing. make sure the child is cautious. not necessarily apprehensive or on edge, but aware of the bad shit that can go on.

In 2017 I think this is when I was introduced to Comment Etiquette by a more online friend but I don't know and I'm not going to look because my break is only so long, and I don't care. In 2018 (had to check the year because it was post Suicide Forest video) I was working a job in Licensing for professional merchandise, and we were pitched Jake Paul's license to make merchandise for him in Brick and Mortar Specialty and Mass Markets. I was tasked with researching him to see if it was a good license to take. Through this task I learned about the existence of: Idubbz, Tanna (SP?) Mojo, Onision, and the diss track guy that was covered in the Idubbz video I was told Erik from Comment Etiquette was on. This is how I started commentary channels. So, no, you're incorrect, I do know my own interests and timelines, I was telling you I was ignorant so why you need to gatekeep that I don't know but maybe you should seek help because just because you THINK this stuff is common knowledge it ain't.
