It's Tackle Shack time again....In this episode Graeme manages to make a shore fishing Drop net out of a mouse-chewed old Keepnet......He cooks up a meal on his G-Stove making American-style Hotdogs and Bagels baked in the oven. He explains what the famous shore fishing Pulley Rig is, and how to make one yourself, then finishes with a whistle-stop tour of how he built the raised platform for the G-Stove and fitted the chimney....It all looks far too cosy....If he gets too comfortable he might not get out fishing!!

Insane to think I found this channel so many years ago when I was a kid. Today I decided to jump on KZfaq and see if the channel was still a thing. To my surprise the channel is still healthy and uploading like I never left it all those years ago I’m 21 now.

Just back from my first overnight Shore session (after decades of carp & freshwater) I was trying out your tried a tested rig you uploaded about a week ago Graham. Smashed it with two Codling around 3.5 lbs each ,two small whiting that i chucked back and a huge flatty flounder of 2.8 lbs who i'm just done prepping for dinner , I've been told all night what a jammy little bugger I am as the mates I went with who have been sea fishing for century's only had one cod a piece. So a massive thank-you Graham for it's you and this channel that's tempted a lifelong river and lakes man out onto the beaches and the open sea. Bloomin cold out there though , my fingers had turned to dead bait by 8 am.

You caught Wha...Wha....What ???? Two Cod ,some whiting and...and...and...a 2.8lb Flounder ??? I assume you want to have some friends after catching those ?? I am deffo unsubscribing from you !!!.......Seriously..well done,that's the sort of catch the rest of us dream about.(I guess you realise the Flounder is the real catch,that's a great fish) and glad the rig worked.

@@TAFishing I haven't been this excited since I first landed a double figure carp in the early 90's . The flounder I had on my shotgun rod pretty close in on one small hook with a big rag on and the second hook with peeler crab which is what it took. My line was kinda slack so didn't fully realize it was a bite until i started to reel back in and struck at it, then man did it fight. So happy to catch the Cod on one of my brand new Penn squadron rods on their first outing to, got taught a trick to stuff a squid with a peeler . I've never been this lucky Graham. I know i was lucky to go with experienced blokes and I know fishing well enough to know this probably wont be a regular occurrence but..you know when your just buzzing and it's like being a kid down the river netting my first perch or like again. I love fishing mate. Anyway I've practiced my filleting skills and have two lovely flounder sides tomorrow to really appreciate the prize. Do you have any tips on what to do and eat with flounder fillets? Thanks again mate this channel is an inspiration .

@@HitTheBricks89 Well done you! That Flounder was a beastie, and it's probably long gone by now, but I always find any quality Flatfish is best simple - lightly flour & season it, and pan fry it gently in butter/olive oil! Good luck for your next expedition.

I converted an old keep net into a live bait holder for when I'm mooching around looking for perch, just chopped it down so it was about 3-4ft long and kept the top ring with the bankstick attachment, seems to keep the roach alive much better than using a carp net. I've also been using breakaway/gripper leads as a mini rake to check for and clear weed on lakes, you just bend the legs over at the tips so they're not sharp/pointy and then use a zip tie to prevent the legs folding back, works great

Never been totally sold on the notion that pulley rigs are better for rough ground. The issue I have is when you reel in without a fish (i.e. most of the time), it behaves like any other rig as the lead is the last thing to come off the sea bed.

I've found that if you use long tail leads, you can cut plastic from food containers into the same shape as the proprietary lead lifts. Make two small hole - one each end, & force over & onto the lead tail. Saves a few quid & makes good use of trash plastic.

Good instructional repeat on this one! By the way, I referenced your chanel yesterday when another chanel (The Boat Show) reviewed a cabin boat like the one you own: why not review some smaller offshore fishing boats for your fans? CAN I BELIEVE MY EYES? A PALLET WOOD TACKLE SHACK! Wonderful subject matter in this video. (LATER) Maybe you should rebrand your chanel as 'Totally Awesome Living!" I would LOVE to spend a few days in such a refined cabin as you have created. I think you have made the perfect space for fresh fish cooking 'in the backyard.' Fish steaks and chowders, for sure! I probably am a few years older than you are: when I was your age, I still 'camped out' in my garden: I missed my wife and ended up wondering why I was out of doors when she didn't want sleep outside any more.

Not really sure what the fish were, did catch a couple of Swanage pier on holiday last year, only way I can describe them is like a long dace but with massive eyes.

seems like the two beads and a swivel might be more dependable than the pulley bead. do you have problems with the pulley bead failing? I would worry about the swivel embedded in the bead pulling out or the bead breaking. We have big fish up here in alaska. I would love to try this set up next time we are halibut or rock fish fishing.
@TAFishing
@TAFishing 4 жыл бұрын
Don't think it will pull out as the swivel is embedded in the bead and I guess the line goes through the bead and swivel itself. Over here they use something called a pendulum cast which produces a lot of power to the rig. I personally have never heard of a pulley bead failing.

@TAFishing
@TAFishing 9 ай бұрын
I mostly sold furniture not restored it except for the occassional piece .You need to try an Antique shop or just type it into your search engine .Generally it was Bees Wax products used on furniture,but the main problem is where we live. Centrally heated houses with little air circulation is not the best place for some woods,especially veneered or inlay. I would have thought waxing every 3 months is enough ,but there may be Antique restorers out there that can give you advice on any modern products.

They are called a G-stove. Mike should have a link in the description offering a 15% discount code. The Tackle Shack size is the XL,you may just need the standard size. Try the code "TAOutdoors" at www.gstove.com ,and I think they ship worldwide.
