Mumbo, you should fix the printer's slowness by using the falling entity bounced onto fences trick. Just shoot the concrete powder onto a line of fences and it slides really fast forever! It even goes into unloaded chunks!

I've actually built one. What I did was, the staircase was made of regular blocks with sticky pistons facing up underneath them, and when they pushed you up, regular pistons would pop out of the wall and push you across. Maybe he meant and actual staircase that moves, and while that might work, it might not function as an escalator. Also I read your comment about how you don't know any escalators that use pistons, but I don't know and lifts/elevators that use slime ;) Still, I would love to see you make a video on it

I tried my hand at fixing this for 1.16.4. While I couldn't find a way to fix the design in the video, I found you can change the design and get part of it working. I spaced the sand out by adding another row of pistons so you have: sand extended piston arm sand sand extended piston arm with the added new row of pistons on the same circuit as the first row, on a 2 tick delay. This results in all 3 sand blocks being bounced by the slime, however the added row of pistons gets in the way of powering the top row of pistons, and I can't think of a way to get the sand to fall so that I can catch it in a staggered pattern, since we all want the sand to be in a row of 3 like: sand sand sand ground This is as far as I got with the design on this patch of minecraft. I tried messing with the timing of pistons at the bottom, however I figured out the timing wasn't the problem. Even if you remove the last pulse of the slime blocks, the top block of sand breaks anyways. If someone else wants to take a shot at fixing the design, this is where I ended up. It's beyond my knowledge of redstone and minecraft mechanics :(

For people looking to build this in 2019, the Sticky piston does not let go of the redstone block inside of this build, however you can save this build by using regular pistons. One to Push the block in place, and one to return the block to its original spot. It still allows the door to work like its intended design.

Zippy DaFish That might be possible but that would require more work than you think. It would have to be bigger and also maybe not possible because it increases the distance and time needed to launch the blocks.

Hello Mumbo Jumbo Since you uploaded the "realistic elevator", I really wanted to build one myself and integrate it into my builds. After lots of fails, I tried copying it block for block from your video which wasn't possible. When you released the redstone- testing world for download, I saw hope but after 60 minutes I gave up looking for it. I thought you might have deleted it without doing a cool but then I saw it again in the 2017 builds video. I would be really happy if you could send me a download link or something like that through discord or maybe conclude it in the next download update for the redstone world. Thank You. Happy 2018

I love the concept of having all of your piston and redstone mechanism below surface .Avoiding the spacing you get if you do a 3x3 or 4x4 piston door on the sides and top .....because I'm looking to do a garage door and a 4x4 piston door ain't big enough and to put 2 next to each other the spacing between the openings will be like 7 blocks so I cant have that

My first thought when I saw the thumbnail. But then again this one is actually a little different and in fact different enough that I'd say he did come up with it himself. It's one of the things I really like about redstone that different people can up with similar results for a similar problem.

Thx I needed some inspiration for my 4x3x1 bunkers door (survival mode) that doesn't take up much horizontal space and has no sticky pistons (slimes are broken in bedrock edition)

How are Mumbo and ImpuleSV so similar? They both have guardian farms in the center of their prismarine bases with Tengo storage systems, and both used the same ocean clearer. Both have those diamond shaped mob farms and love redstone. Now they both have a door like this! What's next?!

im playing on 1.12.2 right now and i have the same problem. I fixed it by removing the blocks that would touch the top concrete layer meaning the blocks that would be above it if its already outside. Seems like the Problem is kinda that they hit the "roof" and get out of the coordination. So to fix it remove anything above the top concrete that will directly touch it, meaaning 1 block high

@@hollow7549 yes i know. The problem is that if the concrete hits the roof than it breaks (the concrete breaks). Idk why it is like that but it worked for me when i just removed the blocks above the top row of the concrete and placed blocks infront if that removed row so it wouldnt look like a hole in the door

Closest you could get would be 2x3. That’s reasonable, my build needs the blocks to bounce five times because my door is 5x5 :( at that point I would need to mess with the ticking, and I don’t know how.

That explosion door is super neat, tutorial please. Btw, i use the bedrock edition as my computer doesn't have the power to run the java edition, i love your content and am wondering if you wouldn't mind at least attempting to recreate your builds in bedrock edition and adding a section to your tutorials discussing timings and work- arounds for the bedrock edition. Thx

Joshua Coppoth most of the java redstone mechanics do not work in bedrock, some contraption are impossible or at least they would become really huge

You might be able to make this in bedrock edition... with a completely different circuit. Some things such as the t flip-flop and that setup with the redstone line next to the pistons with the torches underneath (For the part that goes flush with the floor) just won't work in bedrock. So it's not as simple as just changing a few timings, unfortunately.

Actually, there is a way to make it smaller, if you don't hide the concrete blocks when the door is open. Check out Impulse's nether tunnel (he got the design from The Duke MC - episode 29, if I remember correctly). What I'm wondering though: is there a way to make a door like this taller? Could you do it with four lines of concrete blocks? Or even five?

Theres lots of mods that add to redstone, such as Project Red, Logic Gates, etc. There are also multiple mods that add timers to send redstone pulses on a specified delay. I'd love to see the creations people can make with them.

If you guys are having trouble its because this wont work if there are blocks on top because the concrete wont bounce high enough... kind of a flaw

I built this just now and tried putting a row of blocks on top. Still worked just fine. You can have blocks on top if you did it right

4:33 The T-Flip Flop. I’m trying to do this for my house and the problem I have is that the sticky piston holding the red stone block won’t let go of the red stone block. When you did it, it some how released the redstone block but for me it won’t.

U should make a door that does that this door does, but after have water come down and turn it into concrete then turn it into a piston door with one button
