I got a good used set of tires for the Farmall H and got them mounted up. It took some work to get them swapped because of the rusty rims but they look like they will work good. Amazon Store www.amazon.com/shop/bah53

Local tire places near me will break the beads on tractor tires for $20 a pop if you bring them to their shop. Theirs a pneumatic bead breaker they use that pushes the bead seat away from the rim with a piston. I've taken a few up to them. Best money I've ever spent and it takes about 10 minutes for them compared to a whole day by hand.

Tractor tires are a lot of work to change good thing your rims were good shape. The old H is getting better all the time. :-)

That's how I usually break the bead on car and truck tires... just by driving over them, or by dropping a tire on another tire with a jack. This one though... has to be toughest bead break I've ever seen in my life! And coming from a farm childhood, that's saying something. ;) BTW, you should always have had the base on the jack. Need to spread the load on a sidewall like that, and it's SO easy to tear a hole in a good tire. Ask me how I know! :P Good job getting it done, by the way. That was NOT an easy job. I liked watching it, though. I miss driving Grandpa's old H around the farm, quite a lot...

Good Job! They make a duck bull sledge hammer for breaking beads. It weighs about 8-10 pounds and would have helped greatly but I see you used the wooden blocks which worked. Again, good job! Now, I see that a tractor tire is not impossible to mount yourself. I would not have attempted it without watching your video. Now, I may do it one day. I have an old M Farmall too and a Super A.

I sure could've used one of those but I made it work without it. I think if the rims hadn't been so rusty it would have been much easier to change those tires.

@KOakaKO7 жыл бұрын
No, it doesn't need a muffler. It sounds exactly like an H is supposed to sound. :P
@tdgreenbay7 жыл бұрын
Yes it does needs a muffler... the muffler is only 20 bucks it would quiet it down he gets a clamp on it and rain cap he wouldnt have to cover it with a can anymore

glenn s - That chuffing sound of an original H engine is so beautiful, I think it would be a shame to muffle it. ;)
@tdgreenbay7 жыл бұрын
Muffle the damn thing the way International Intended before you burn the freaking valves
@KOakaKO7 жыл бұрын
glenn s - Sounds like every H I've ever heard. Besides, I think you'd have to remove the exhaust manifold before you'd burn the exhaust valves.
