Usain Bolt told Yohan not to start fast that day and rely on his 100m speed at the finish. Some say that's the strategy that made him ran 19.26. But I think if Yohan didn't listen to bolt he would have been the world record holder that day.

2012 proves that even though he went out hard, he was never breaking bolts record

Maybe, or maybe not. Sprinters need the proper balance of strong start and proper building of speed and maintaining. Often, when sprinters take a little off the start, their finish is tremendously improved. For example, Gatlin usually beat Bolt out of the blocks and led most of the race until Bolt caught and passed him, but during Bolt’s last race, it was Gatlin who started slower and came up with much higher top speed than Bolt…catching and passing him! Shericka Jackson is an insane closer and has improved her start to beat Shelly out of the blocks, however, ShaCarri has a much slower start, and repeatedly catches and passes her at the end. 2022, when ShaCarri had a much faster start, her last gear was completely gone…nowhere in 2022 did we see ShaCarri reach her top speed, despite a very good start. Now, let’s mention FloJo…her start was “okay”…never was it an amazing start, but look at what happened in the second half of her race…she appeared to constantly pull away. Simply put, that slow start may be the reason he ran the fastest negative split in history.

What makes Bolt's 200m record tricky is the fact that he run the bend that fucking fast 9.92 first split is just abnormal

Johnson was lightning for his time.

Not to discredit the vid bruv, but there's a alot of mixed results about Noah's 9.16 last year. However it would still be around 9.2 seconds which would still put him on this list.

Yeah and some people say Yohan ran a 9.08 final 100…

Hence why I've started taking these split times with a grain of salt

Fahnbulleh split 9.27 last year at the ncaa 200m final as well and 9.21 seconds in Knighton's 19.49 race.

All splits are kinda dodgy, but I think it's interesting enough anyway.

@@Pumpxkin wow. I thought he had a sub 10 first 100m split though

Bolt is the only one who can run sub10 on the first curve....

Great job mate, but I don't trust these split times that much, to be honest.

9.23s for Knighton? C'mon, that can't be right. Knighton is always "slow" in the 2nd half of the race...
@JumpmanTF8 ай бұрын
Well he did run a 19.49, so something had to be different.
