Love it Buckin’!!! Hope you’re doing well brother. I have had touchy situations with sticking my neck out for people in the past. It can definitely bite you but you know what, you get a lot of grace from the big man upstairs by treating others the way you’d want to be treated. Helping someone out is never wasted time even if it backfires slightly. Love you brother!! Blessings to you and the family!! Be kind!!

That 922 is a beast Bucking, Tinman did a bang up job on that beauty. I have an old homelite super xl automatic that my one of my buddies gave me, awesome little saw that only needed a fuel line and filter and she started. Hope you all have a great rest of your day friends and see you on the next one.

Buckin and Tinman, thank you. I recently changed my Homelite C7 from a .404 to a 3/8 rim sprocket and threw a 28 inch Oregon bar on it, using some piping as a shim on the bar studs since it is a Stihl mount bar. All these tips and tricks I learned from you guys, among many others. Thanks again! Buckin, I’ve also gone from a 1 axe guy to a 5 axe guy in the last year and a half. Thanks for teaching me how to haft as well! -Jay

Hi Buckin, I was just thinking about something you once said years ago now and those words were. " there is great reward in doing the things that people couldn't be bothered to do" !! And I really love and respect that sentiment, and I believe how that resonates with you tells you alot about yourself. And you also said just the other day " don't be a" " that will do guy"!! That's exactly why I have great respect for you Brother. 🤠🤝🇦🇺

I've repaired my old friends super xl 925 from 1963, thing is a beast and I love running it. Finding parts is difficult, the seal between the tank and feed line is rotted so i had to engineer a fix but so far its holding up. It needs a new air filter also but I haven't been able to find one that fits. Awesome saw!
@ryanv127910 ай бұрын
What did you use on that fuel line? Mine has the same issue, I tried fixing with seal-all but I ended up blocking the damn line all together😂😂 also got a leaky screw on the carb but thats an easy fix

Beautiful saw, Billy! I worship he had cut the exhaust pipe off at a bit steeper angle, so it didn't block when it's sitting on a flat surface. Sweet saw and dogs. Should run for a long time with that mod, I would think... Not too aggressive and idles low and even like a go- to saw should 😀

I recently bought a externally abused xl 913 here in England, when I collected it the fuel was still in the tank and boy was it old, so old that the fuel pipe had disintegrated into black sludge in the tank. On inspecting the bore it was still good. Did a carb overhaul and she fired up after three pulls amazing !!! They do not make them like that anymore.

Great saw! Was hoping maybe you could sometime talk about other parts of the saw that make it a great saw, other than moter and chain. Maybe weight ,feel in the hand or handle or anything else you think of that you like in a great, not good, but great powersaw? Perhaps throttle or choke placement and that kind of stuff. Just a thought 🕺! Love the channel!

I feel you. I recently fixed a homelite super xl for a friend. It was his grandpa's saw and he wanted to bring a piece of his grandpa back to life. Got it running for him, tested it out, and fell in love with it. I ended up searching all around for one, and found an old man who had 2 of them. took me forever to find a NOS cylinder and piston for it, but my God was it worth it. I've fully rebuilt it, and it'll pull a 22 inch bar through wood like a knife through butter. The other brands are just as good, but there's something about the crackle of that engine and how it runs. Looks great with that baby blue and white paint too.

making me excited about the 925 sxl I have in the garage right now! I think she will run with a carb rebuild and I have the kit for it, I may shop around on ebay to replace some of the cracked magnesium parts. I just finished getting a $50 super xl ao blue up and running this weekend, didnt even need a carb rebuild, just cleaned it out and boiled the diaphragms to soften them up. Also I have a mac 5-10 dsp $25 estate sale find with the original bar in absolutely beautiful shape. It has no tensioner and it also has a decompression valve. I had it running for a little bit this weekend, the saw is just so nice cosmetically, but the bullfrog carb is corroded badly inside and leaks like crazy. I couldn't get the carb to hold fuel after I took it apart to boil the diaphragm to soften it up. I may convert it over to a walbro, what is your opinion on converting the old bullfrog macs to more available carbs? I might wait until I get a 10-10 parts saw at another yard sale to use for conversion.
