It idles higher than 900 revolutions in one minute, what the hell are you taking about???
@robinclaidlaw2 ай бұрын
@@megastick9324 Yes, I’m sure it does, but it isn’t under load at idle. I mean that it is only really working and producing big power for less than 900 revolutions per run. The burnout is only a couple of seconds and the run is only 3 and a bit. Even running at over 9000rpm peak it doesn’t even do 1000 revolutions of actual work. Just for total clarity I don’t mean it revs to less than 900rpm I mean it turns over less than 900 times under load.
@megastick93242 ай бұрын
@@robinclaidlaw it doesn’t matter what load is or isn’t, a revolution is a revolution. Read your own statement, you have no idea how an engine works OR the correct nomenclature. You’re just spitting things out and expecting no one will know better. A revolution is a complete turn of the engine, I have no idea what you’re making up here. Look at your own BS, “@ 9000 rpm peak it doesn’t do 1000revs work” RPM is literally revolutions per minute! If it runs one minute at that speed it’s made 9k revolutions! You’re completely clueless on the subject, just stop already.
@megastick93242 ай бұрын
@@robinclaidlaw if it idles for 1 min it has already gone more than 900 revolutions. Load or not a revolution is a revolution. And RPMs is revolutions per minute, so 9000 RPMs is 9k revolutions in ONE minute. Please stop, you have no clue what you’re talking about. SMH
@robinclaidlaw2 ай бұрын
@@megastick9324 If you think that the load on the internal components, and wear, is the same at idle as it it when the engine is wide open producing 11000 bhp, I'm a little surprised. Not many top fuel engines grenade themselves at idle. That's the point, in terms of the lifespan of the parts, it would sit there idling almost indefinitely, but once the throttle is wide open it's life span to needing a rebuild only needs to be another 900 revolutions. If you don't find that remarkable, fair enough, but I understand what I'm talking about just fine. And it absolutely never runs at 9000rpm for a whole minute. Idle is about 2400-2500, it's only at high revs for the length of the burnout and the run, less than 10 seconds for sure.
