Makes me feel like a Cave Dweller since I have defended myself with bone stock firearms without all the bells and whistles, a battle worn G.I. 1911, a beat up Patrol 870 shotgun no add ons or lights or lasers. I have a bone stock Glock 48 I have carried for over 2 years now; carried a stock p10F before that. I don't care what anyone says, from my experience, as soon as you begin putting on comps and changing triggers on Glocks, you begin to diminish the only reason I choose to carry a basic bitch gun to protect my life- they just run, period.

@@carminemurray6624 might wanna look into a cheap .300aac blk, id recommend somewhere around 8-10" for the barrel length, and a decent light, olight makes one called the baldr pro rechargeable, its what most law enforcement rely on nowadays because its so great and so cheap, i personally own two and couldnt be happier, but I also like the jobsmart (tractor supply) tac light, it comes witha rifle mount and its much cheaper than the olight but its also much less reliable, as always win some lose some lol, but a decent semi automatic rifle chambered in .300 blackout with a light (and a decent optic but i like irons just as much) is really all you need in my opinion, always good to have a reliable sidearm but sounds like youve got that covered already, of course i like to carry a bit heavier for bump in the night type of stuff, a good high capacity .45 with +p extreme penetrators is my personal choice but i also have yet to own the .460rowland version or even just a good .44magnum yet so idk, I'll definitely carry more than one sidearm though in a bad situation, one lower caliber for quicker follow ups and one heavy hitter for anything the pea shooter cant take down.

@mouthbreather280
@mouthbreather280 2 жыл бұрын
@@grantgillum8768 I’m familiar. Non restricted firearms can be openly transported. They must be unloaded to do this. It is a horrible idea though in any populated place since the police will definitely be called on you and you will be ordered to the ground at gun point. It’s only something you could really get away with somewhere that it’s more common, in rural parts of Canada. It is perfectly legal to sling a B&T APC, Tavor x95, or KD WK-180C over your back and walk down the street. Not a good idea in most cases. I was referring to pistols in specific in my comment, which cannot be carried in public openly or concealed. But self defence is legal in Canada. If you did hypothetically carry concealed and justifiably used your handgun in a self defence scenario, you would not be guilty of the actual homicide, but you would be convicted on the weapon charges. If you were “transporting” a NR gun on your back and you have a loaded mag in pocket, and just so happen to encounter a situation where you need to defend your own life or another persons life, then since it is only a weapon of opportunity, you would not be guilty of any offence.

When I turned 21 I went to the biggest gun store in the city nearby with no idea what I wanted. I looked at around 50 different guns and couldn’t decide. After much debating, I got the H&K .40 USP compact. I bought an extra magazine, had some trijicon night sights installed and my bill was $1400. Lol my roommates freaked that I spent so much on a firearm… here I am 18 years later and Im still carrying it everyday. I don’t regret it at all.

Okay geniuses, pay attention. Race guns require really specific ammo and need the recoil spring weight tuned to the load, conditions, and gun. Any crud gets into that system and it’s not going to cycle reliably. This is largely due to the compensator, and even in peak running the extraction/ejection cycle isn’t going to be very strong. See those cuts in the slide? Those are super highways for dirt, lint, water etc to get into the system. That specific optic mount doesn’t allow for a light, though many do. Good luck finding a holster or concealing it. And if you’re not concealing a firearm, why would you be carrying a weapon system that doesn’t have a third point of contact (like a stock)? Finally it’s still a 9mm pistol. If you’re defending your home concealment isn’t important. Use a damn carbine or shotgun, over penetration is mostly bullshit, get proper ammo for the intended purpose. Rifle rounds and shotgun loads have been shown to stop threats at more than double the rate of pistol rounds. So yeah, that’s why this isn’t a good self defense gun.

@rashiro 2 жыл бұрын
@@bobstark4020 a big fat compensator like that requires you to mess with recoil spring weights and ammo until you dial in the gun to run reliably. The cut outs in the slide open the system up for dirt and water. Bring that race gun into an environment where it won’t stay clean and you’re going to have a problem. God help you if you live somewhere that gets dry powdery sand (“moon dust”) and it’s a windy day with that gun.
