@@khatogast6916 when players have deception vs insight contest against each other, the success of deception doesn't mean that you necessarily believe, but don't have enough insight on the liar's body language and et cetera that would tell you otherwise, this goes the same in player versus npc situation and to add to it, after one player succeded on deception against the other player, the other one can still pursue his thoughts of being lied to, no matter the score, but of course it works better if there's slight difference in both scores, again same goes for player vs npc situation.

They are playing there roles, Grog moves forwards, not stopping to cry instead driving on to do somthing to fix it. Scanlon covers his grief up as he always has with any strong emotion. I imagine we may have seen a risk of a fall to drugs again if Vax had not returned.

It makes total sense for Grog. He's not all that bright, and literally everyone important to him who's died has always come back to life. Percy's insides were all over his outsides after the Raishan fight, and he was fine after a quick revivify spell. Keyleth turned herself into ketchup jumping off a 1000ft cliff, and was back on her feet 30 seonds later with the help of a magic coin. Of course he would assume death wouldn't keep Vax down either. Much like Scanlan leaving, it probably wouldn't really hit him for a few weeks. Also, despite being Grand Poobah and a mighty wish granting wizard, Grog doesn't know anything about magic. He might just think resurrection is easier with a body, not that you need one. Scanlan is the type to try to be strong and make everyone else smile, then sob his heart out in private. So I see both of their behaviour as perfectly in character.

Vax returned but is secretly working for the bad guy. Percy could've suggest to Pike, to use sense evil. And he did get her to use turn Undead. That happened after I left my comment.

I think what it makes him fresh it's the fact that it's almost the only stereotypical villain in the whole campaign, but he has so much power that it really frights the entire Vox Machina group.

I think it’s just his role in the show. With exception of when the Chroma Conclave first appeared, there has been very few moments to make Vox Machina shake in their boots. This, however, I think everyone knows is their final boss. It’s everything the story has been building up to, even if no one has realized it.

@@franklinwood7705 This is also an old comment, but I think its more than that, he is deciding on whether or not he should lie and try to convince them that if they beat Vecna he gets to go free. Their is a moment in which he is simply trying to vaguely play the resurrection off as a gift of the raven queen for being her paladin which in a way is true, just leaving out the whole being yanked from existence at the end of the victory. If he isn't telling a lie then he isn't betraying he's friends and its not until they ask him directly what happens after they defeat Vecna that he finally tells them the whole truth. Getting a little meta-gaming here but Id bet if Liam/Vax had a higher deception he probably would decided to straight up lie to the group and hope that no insights clued the party into the deal he made thus protecting them from any guilt they may have to deal with or in the case of Scanlan holding back against the Vecna fight. Ultimately the "playing dumb" strategy almost immediately backfired as both the characters and he's actual friends had way to many questions about how he came back unscathed.

There are several times I was very impressed with her acting and the "mood change" she displays. Like cheering the death of Raishan to sobbing looking at Percy is another good example

To be fair, they probably could have alerted the guard captain at the very least if Grog hadn't decked him in the face and sent the entire city into high alert for the wrong reason

This is part of one of the things that saddens me the most about Vox Machina : their inability to grasp they're not a ragtag band of low-level hobos saving Kimmy who fell in the well, but powerhouses in their own rights. Lord of Whitestone ? Leave the paperwork to sista and go fool around. Members of the Council of Tal'Dorei ? Let's haggle with the little alchemist and get annoyed by guards, and certainly not gather all of Vasselheim's top honchos and expose the archvillain's world-threatening plot and assemble an army of paladins and priests... So sad to see... 😓

@@Darksnakemrniceguy did, did we watch the same episode? at NO point does anyone tell talesin or percy to shut up or insinuate it. they, in character, butt heads very slightly when percy brings up the great point that vax could very well be a ploy by vecna - vex even remarks when she first sees him that it could be a trick of the faywild. being the servant of a goddess of death means jack all. any god could've reasonably brought back anyone if they thought they could be key in defeating whatever foe they were dealing with. that said, percy also explained that miracles usually don't just happen. VM have had to fight for almost everything they've got. they had to rid whitestone from the clutches of the briarwoods and then keep it safe from the conclave. they had to travel all across exandria and multiple planes to collect the vestiges. they had to defeat four ancient dragons in order to save Tal'Dorei. at no point did any of the dragons suddenly drop dead, nor were any of the vestiges just materialized before them. the only time the gods interfered with their adventure was when pike had sarenrae body vorugal, and that still was only a small contribution in the grand scheme of things. with each death they didn't immediately fix during battle, they had to pour out their hearts and souls to bring back their friends. at no point has anything just been given to them. they've worked to gain all their miracles, becoming the miracle itself in many circumstances. so for vax to just be given back to them for seemingly no cost is a bit hard to believe, especially when you consider who is questioning the situation here - percy. percy, as a character, has lost the entirety of his family beyond Cassandra. he even got to watch her nearly die and was left traumatized. he struck up a deal with a demon and thought about almost nothing beyond revenge for years before meeting VM. it makes literally perfect sense for ANY of them to skeptical because they just fought someone who can literally raise the fucking dead. percy, especially, doesn't expect someone to just go, "yeah, you can have him back" just like that. why would he? finally, there was no monologue during any of this. this scene was literally everyone learning that vax was alive - there was no interruption when it's expected that everyone would have a reaction to seeing their dead friend alive all of a sudden. like, i don't know what to tell you my dude. you must just straight up hate talesin.

And whereas the rest is usually thinking of themselves, Travis is in his own world a lot of the time untill he knows he needs to pay attention, cause someone's voice changes or the music changes or whatever.

He's tried to ascend a few times before, but always managed to be defeated before he could fully become a deity. But on one of his first attempts, he did partially succeed and become somewhat of a demigod.

well... to justify them we could say that Ioun is powerless since she is still recovering from her wound. so she probably wouldn't be of much help. Vecna is actually the enemy of most gods to be fair, most good/neutral deities there should have at least one reason to hate him.
