The unnaturalness of war for a person - a worker, a creator - is shown by the example of the fate of an old peasant winegrower from Georgia.
Giorgi Makharashvili goes to see his son, who is wounded and is in the hospital. But while the father gets to his destination, the son again goes to the front. However, George can no longer return to his native village. Together with the Soviet army, he goes all the way - the way to Berlin, to the Victory over fascism. And only in the last days of the war does he find his son. Alas, this meeting was the last ...

The main protagonist and all the actors are superb. The music is fantastic, a real beautiful orchestra performance, very proper to the theme. Hats off to Georgian legend this old man. It looks like very real story. The old man action excellent. excellent movie. Georgia is a part of Russia until 1991.His son makharshvali declared the Hero of soviet union gave him high respect .

@@rafkul3952 A Georgian movie in Soviet Union. Soviets were not Russians, Soviets were made up of Russians, Ukrainians, Belorussians, Gerogians, Uzbek and others. Therefore, this is a Georgian movie.

watching this film and I am happy to have met a georgian friend in Moscow today, and hear from him( heis parliament member of Georgia) that they worked out the deal.that Russia will be VISA free for.georgians ,and the direct flights between russia and Georgia will resume soon, may russia, georgia ,ukraine...etc be friends and united again, no more bs cause by western manipulation.

it is a shame that it’s known as q “russian” film.. i feel really ashamed.. it’s a georgian film.. it was filmed in USSR yes. but dirrector was a Georgian man. main actor was a Georgian legendary actor. and the whole plot is about the georgians. it just makes me sad that you meantioned it as a “russian” film. if you said a “ussr” film then okay.. but it’s Georgian. Pure georgian classic. not russian. keep it in mind.

Are you ashamed? Maybe you are still ashamed that the Georgians fought with the Russians against Hitler? But nothing that, apart from the Russians, many other peoples of the USSR fought? Do you have anything against THEM? This movie is one of my favourites. And I, a Russian, am ashamed of Georgians like you ..😡

@@vadimanreev4585 if it's soviet film just say Soviet, but as we all can see it says "Russian" in title. and USSR was Russia with all the other countries at his feet. only Russians liked USSR. me as a Georgian, I feel ashamed that we were part of Russia's communism. Soon enough Russia will fall as well, Just like Ussr did. with the blessing of god.

What mechanisms were used to build a superethnos - Soviet people? If you had asked these directors who they were by nationality, they would have told you that they were Georgians, but proudly added that they were Soviet Georgians.

Either way, the title says that the movie is Russian, so why do you not get angry that it says Russian? If it said Soviet, Georgians would not correct it by saying that it's Georgian.
