That time of year when precure fans just wake up and decide to spread misinformation 😍 I think there should be a fourth category labeled "nevermind it's just balala the fairies" because oh my gosh this Fandom loves gaslighting

One of the funniest things I saw was somebody on Reddit thinking the StarPre leak was fake, not because of Soleil’s skin tone, but because they thought the two middle cures (Milky and Star) were both pink. And that’s how they learned they’re colorblind!

I will never, _ever_ forget getting duped during the Mahou Tsukai Precure leak season (my first leak season since I got into Precure in 2015), and I was tricked by footage of Balala the fairies😭

I’ve been told by a few people that the “Toei Suite leaks” are more of an urban legend rather than fact, and the language barrier played part in this being spread as factual among the western fan space. Though myth, I wish the story were true 🦭💔

My first leaks were the fake Ala Mode Leaks! It's so cool looking back on what essentially became a tradition for the precure fandom!

As someone coming from Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, I can confirm that this is a beautiful tradition celebrated by all of Toei's Super Hero shows, down to the toothpicks in the pin readers. Makes me feel at home here

I will recommend making a fanseries based on a fake leak to anyone. It was a lot of fun when I did it, and others have done well with it! Brief correction -- the famous Suite fake leak was actually also fanmade; people assumed it was done by Toei because it was modelled after the leak that spoiled Sunshine's existence and Moonlight's return. Fake leaks from the fans do predate Suite; the most famous was probably Cures Sunday and Night for Fresh Precure, I remember a screenshot from another anime used for Heartcatch much like the Balala example, and back before Splash Star, people assumed that those designs were fake as well because they were too different to be the same characters but too similar to be different characters. Shows what we know.

Omg I remember being there for the fake Cure Beat and Cure Symphony designs!! I wasn't as deep into the Japanese side of things back then since I haven't gotten a good grasp of the language yet, but I do remember that there was some in-fighting on whether the fake cures were better than the canon cures and maybe the complaints got out of hand. I suspect that's the reason why toei never did it again.

ive never actually seen a precure leak, except once or twice hearing about the name and theme of the show a bit before toei themselves announces the same, which barely counts as a leak imo but i LOVE hearing about the shenanigans of the leak community after the fact. it pleases me greatly simply to know that they are over there, having fun with their blurry jpgs and toothpicks. i dont want spoilers myself, but im glad they are enjoying themselves

Help not the poetry recital for the DP leaks 😭😭 I love precure leak season so much, ik some people find it annoying but just something about piecing the bits of leaks we get together and trying to predict the story always makes me so excited! I’ve been part of the midseason leaks since I joined the precure fandom in 2021, but I actually decided to wait until I finished all the seasons to see the new season leaks, and 2 years later I was finally able to be caught up with everything on the Hirogaru leaks! I got my Sky Mirage before Majesty’s design was leaked and I successfully managed to hack it and get her audio before she was announced haha 😂. In fact I have a lot of pin-based precure toys and it’s always so fun to try and hack them, especially with the Linkle Smartphone since I didn’t have all the Linkle stones at the time (now I have all of them minus Alexandrite) and I could actually feed Ha Chan all the different foods that gave her different outfits and it was so cute 😭💕

I can tell how much more “professional” and higher production quality your videos have gotten recently. I appreciate the effort you put into wanting great art given to us. I hope you have fun editing these behind the scenes!

this video is a fantastic overview of a key part of the precure fandom!!! it's super thorough (which is extra impressive bc you became a fan years after some of these leaks), not to mention entertaining- i laughed when you brought out the pollon, turtleneck, and glasses! as a bit of extra context on the starwi leaks, there was an additional reason people didn't believe they were real: it was quite possibly the peak era of fake leaks, because there were EIGHT (8) separate fake leaks before we got the real one. some of them were obviously fake, but others actually had a shot at being the real design! ever since then, we've gotten fewer and fewer "leaks" pretending to the real thing, and more "leaks" done in good fun- occasionally even including disclaimers that they aren't the real thing. i think artists got tired of the aggravation sent their way for "tricking" fans, but as frustrating as fake leaks can be, i actually miss them now. they were an important part of hyping up the fandom during leak season!

My first leak was Suite and I remember people not believing it because even though the (magazine, I think it was?) scan was very similiar to the one from the first Heartcatch leak, they said Melody and Rhytm looked too much like Sailor Moon characters. I never got why they founded similiar 😭 That said, it's so fun waiting for the first leaks on November/December! Like you said, it doesn't matter if someone enjoys or not the current season, it's always and exciting time! However, I HATE mid-season leaks. I try everything to not get spoiled. After all, this is probably one of the only twists a precure season has so I don't want to know it immediately 😅 I wish Toei did what they did with Suite where the actual voices of the VA were on the fairy tone not the cure module. That way there is no way for people to leak the new character.

I always loved leaks because this is massive wild guess speculation and theory which everyone can share and talk about it. Whenever leak is coming it feels like Precure fandom are again to team up

I love how Precure leaks are like new gen pokemon starter leaks, but for shoujo fans lmao, they get churned out on the reg and sometimes people are disappointed with the new designs- but still everybody eats it up, even a vague silhouette makes people animalistic theorizing what type of character it could be. doesn't matter if the last season (or last pokemon generation) was considered a dud by their respective fandoms, and sometimes the hype is more fun than the final released product T-T

gosh, i'm not a big fan of mid-season leaks, especially when i don't want to be spoiled :') but... new season leaks? i like those lol, especially when there's a chance for fans to take a guess on what would be the actual design (ahem ahem, delicious party precure's coloring book). honestly, i've been an invested fan in 2021 and i don't know much leaks however they're really interesting in the fandom every year lol.

I love this! How nostalgic haha. I was there for most of these leaks, aside from a small break I took for a couple years (and a few months ago when I was desperately trying to avoid Majesty design leaks because I wanted to be surprised for once 😆). Leaks are so much fun every year. I still vividly remember the fake Suite leaks! That was a genius move by Toei honestly😂 Thanks for such a fun video, I really enjoyed your humorous delivery.

Leak stories are fascinating in retrospect. I only wish when it happened in real time, people who're involved including fans were not disastrously hurt. Personally I'd avoid them for spoilers reasons. I can govern my excitement pretty well. But of course I also acknowledge there are plenty of people like you who enjoys them. The ethics of leaks is getting blurry. I do think part of it serves the consumers, but I dread the day leakers got constant upper-hand in this "battle" lol. Great video. Great energy!

One thing to mention is that the infamous Suite fake leak was fanmade, not official by Toei. Those two characters *were* meant to be red herrings tho as you'll notice that civilian names for the characters up till that point incorporated the cardinal directions (north, south, east, and west) into their names which those two characters in the show did follow that naming scheme.

I somehow managed to miss all these leaks! 😂 But I have always loved fan designs, and I even have a few of my own! 💖

I found out about Heartcatch, before it even aired because I was on google images and an imaged popped out. It was an image of Cure Blossom and Cure Marine with a human heart in their hand and blood everywhere, it looked legit and I was shocked and exited so when I watched the show I was quite disappointed and surprised it was nothing like that image😂😂😂Heartcatch is still one of my top favorites series but I kind of wish they still went with that fake leak direction😂😂

This makes me wonder about the current season, Wonderful. I have my suspicions for who the mid season is but the wonderful pact doesnt seem to be hackable. If it is, I doubt people will find anything. I think each cure duo is gonna get their own pact in order to prevent this from being leaked. Who knows :0

The opening 😂😂 I’ve found my Precure people. I remember being a kid when Keira passion first got leaked, but I’ve learned to wait until the series comes out to make judgment because sometimes I say I hate the look but then I’ll see it in action or the transformation and I’ll be “damn this ain’t bad” the only leak that was correct that I’m happy about being correct was the star twinkle leak because I was so happy to get a brown skin cure. Yes I also thought it was fake and was so happy when it was real!

Being part of the tamagotchi/virtual pet fandom for a long time and also the precure/magical girl fandom means that there is overlap in my groups when a precure season has a virtual pet-like toy and the subsequent cure leaks that follow lol

My first leak experience was with doki doki! I remember falling in love with Sword's design and seeing people color Rosetta's hair a redish orange for a bit due to the quality of the leaks. My favorite leaks will always be kirakira i was SO excited for that season! I made obviously fake designs for Mahou Tsukai back in the day, it was fun! Haven't done any since because of how nasty people have gotten about fake leaks these past few years; 💖 Thanks for making~

As somone who is living their first ever Pretty Cure leam season I can say that is very exiting not knowing what is gona be up next. This feeling of not knowing anything is very nice, and the wait is also not a bad kind of waiting. But I'm also kinda scared because I don't know how the leeks will impact on my enjoiment of this future season. I come from the Pokemon fandom as someone who likes to play the games as blind as possible. Which can be a problem since it's not even funny at this point that the ENTIRE new games usualy get leaked even several months in advance. You could literaly play the game day 1 and already know everything about it. Yet I can only try and see how do I feel about the Pretty Cure leaks by experienceing them, so this year I'm in for the ride.

For me the leaks started with Go Princess back in 2015, when Miss Shamour’s design was leaked and everyone thought she was Dispear ahahaha. Also loved the fake leak from Star Twinkle (Cure Cosmo and Cure Heaven), some curious stuff us they got the duo colors of Star and Milky right and the mascot Unicorn. The Mahou Tsukai leaks were also amazing, the different styles and witches theme.

ah so this is like a universal thing among the fandoms of The Toei Seasonal ShowsTm. i kinda know about precure via osmosis but as a rider fan glad we can all unite over weird usually fake leaks. this year was surprising because the really early leaks WERE ACTUALLY ACCURATE.

As someone who is still rather new to the franchise and only having been through two speculation seasons without much of a focus on them I am trying to make a change this year. I really wanna know a lot about a season before jumping into it especially the voice actress and actors revealed in the preseason announcements. So this was a fun video! Especially learning that most of those Woan as a Pretty Cure images comes from that one blue leak. Although to be snarky I am kinda shocked they even tried since Ellen / Siren from the moment she appeared in a human form with purple hair in a season were both girls did not have such a color made me go, yep your gonna be our six ranger aren't you.

I think fake leaks are mean and stupid. I have fell for a few but I won’t anymore. Best to only look forward to the official statements.

Those leaks were made by a fan who just happened to correctly guess a name and theme color and didn’t come clean for a few extra months. You can literally read them saying this on the higher quality art.
