Don Bluth practically saved high quality animation during a time when it was in trouble of being a relic of the past. His mission was to bring back that old traditional style of cartoons as well as show that animation could be treated as a respected art form rather than just a business. He was a wake up call for animators everywhere and I commend him for his services.

there are two types of animation I like: Don Bluth movies and japanese anime. I just want to say thank you for making a video tribute to one of my favorite animators. p.s. Rest in Peace Judith Barsi.

I so missed Don Bluth’s animated films. Can’t believe I haven’t seen other new films of his for the pass few years. Though he could’ve continue making more of them by continue finishing with the drafts of the old films such as Beauty and the Beast, East of the Sun and West of the Moon, Rapunzel and other incomplete films.

Don Bluth was truly a great 2D animator, not just for his movies, but also for his shorts, arcade games, and the app I wish I got a chance of playing "Tapper: World Tour". I wish and hope we see at least one more movie made by him before he passes. Even if it would be a short movie.

Faboolis... I have a story to share. My grandpa just passed away, and for nostalgic reasons I decided to watch "The Land Before Time" which reminds me of him because it was a movie I watched when he was still going strong. He taught me musical knowledge, and he had that inventive spirit that mr. Bluth also possesses. I stumbled upon your mesmerising video this evening, and I have been crying for an hour. Is it okay if I upload the first 2 minutes and 20 seconds for my channel so I can share it with people I know? It would make my year.

I would have liked to see Bluth do an animated version of Roald Dahl's 'The Witches.' Dahl's dark humor could have fit pretty nicely with the dark fairy-tale style of Bluth's early work. And the hero-turned-mouse with a heart of a lion in his mouse body feels like a very Bluth-type of hero. Can you picture the Grand High Witch's unmasking, the mouse transformation and the search through her hotel room as imagined by Bluth?

I know I'm in the minority here but I absoluletly love All Dogs Go to Heaven. It was my favourite movie when I was a kid and it's still one of my favourites ever. Whenever I watch it again, I'm always impressed of the sheer quality of the story, characters, music and animation.

I have to admit Don Bluth has been a bit of a mixed bag in my eyes. But my two favorites of his movies are THumbelina and Pebble and the Penguin. I'm 30 now and i have not seen any of his past work in such a long time perhaps since high school.

i heard the amazing news that hand drawn 2d animation is returning for more movies and even series! i bet Don would return to the studio and fulfill his career again or at least be a mentor/teacher at the studio for the new generation, and at this point i think xerographing (aka Recycled Animation) might just become a tradition don't think he'll return to disney? i'm okay with that opinion
