I managed to get to the 8th stage of the extreme route and after 35 losses finally beat Nagoriyuki. But then I saw stage 9, fought that version of Nago 5 times and said "nah bro, I'm done".

Indeed, 1-jump in and block his attack 2-punish his teleport with a grab 3-repeat until 30% HP At 30% HP he becomes less aggresive, throw still works wonders

@@kosmonaft Well it did take 200+ attempts. The bad part about using Chipp against stage 9 Nago is the low health and the fact that Nago has hyper armor on his attacks so combos are bad against him. So I used Chipp's speed to rush in and just grab him after he whips an attack, when he gets dizzy I charged dust and do my highest dust combo. You can also charge dust after he does a home run atk. I suggest you used all Chipp's meter for FD so you can avoid chip dmg.

If you focus on throwing him, beating him is a lot more doable. For stage eight anyways. If you throw him and immediately super jump (as nago) over the top of him you can throw him again a lot of the time.

After about 10 tries I figured out you could cheese him as zato using flight and the armored eddie special. Saved my sanity and potential hours looking at what other people in these comments went through.

I would throw him, jump to time the wake up, and then throw again. I was playing faust, so my throw left him very close to me. That also helped

@@VizualBandit Now that I understand it a bit better, there only 3 difficulties that auto switch depending on your performance, normal, hard, and extreme, with you only staying in extreme if you 2-0 everything. Losing a fight in normal or hard gives you a support for that battle. But I don't think anyone has it fully figured out. For me, winning the first couple battles kept me in extreme, then I 2-1'd a round and went to hard, won back up to extreme, was hard again on stage 8, and it gave me Zato right off the bat, so I assumed it was a guarantee. Either way, it is still a shadow Nago you fight!

Glad to know I wasn't the only one who struggled. By sheer coincidence I got to the first Nago as a level 4 May, since my winning matches were 2-0 even though I had 19 losses lol. I couldn't beat Nago, but got to see the alternate Chipp dialogue at least. Also, that May advice is only true for fast dolphin ;)
