The Autumn had a crew complement of 1,100 alone, not including another 800 Marines/others. The total could be closer to 2,000 that died on and over Halo.

@@DEEZ_N4TCan confirm, WebKnights covenant really helps with immersion. Also makes the alien bastards even scarier than they already are. If you suddenly hear an energy sword get drawn and you're in a city, you are already dead.

Unfortunately being dissolved after the S4 formula was put into regular practice because of its high success rate and compatibility technically for the better because all ODSTs were given the opportunity to join the s4 program or I think retire that’s why Buck is in halo 5 as a Spartan

@@luckxxterra2132 & the 4's became extinct after getting bodied by the banished & the infinity (the center for making & operating SIV's) get destroyed at zeta halo. all that survived was blue team (the older spartan II's who got scattered & isolated) even locke met his end. so ODST's are back on the menu after the IV's colossal failure. all that R&D resources & finances for soldiers costing more then a starship a piece is all GONE.

Anything written by Eric Nylund is trash.Dietz, Traviss, Bear, and the books written as prequels to Reach are pretty solid. I've not read any of the post Halo 4 stuff but I know those were great.

@@Agora2021 I didn't think it was too bad, and Dietz, being a writer who's published his own works and wasn't just selling out to Microsoft, didn't tend to veer into purple prose so much. My favorite part is when Chief finds a shotgun in the swamp outside the Flood containment facility, because that shotgun only spawns on Easy and that in turn means Dietz played the game on Easy to write the novel.

What yall are seeing is a mod for the PC game "Arma 3" called "Operation Trebuchet". It mainly focuses, albeit poorly without side mods, on the insurrection era of humanity, but has an addon called First Contact which adds the Covenant. It also has a really cool sidemod for it called "Webknight's OPTRE expansion" which adds grunts, hunters, and elites that behave more like their game counterparts.

@Nikos. Yea, they're pretty cool, it also adds melee weapons as well which work with Webknight's melee system, which is pretty extensive. If you cover more lore stuff involving the insurrection, I'd also reccomend using "The Carver Findings", which is a mod that adds a LOT of retextured and additional content to represent a whole bunch of rebel groups in greater detail than the base mod.

Remember how most missions in the second part are reskins of the first part? That's intentional. Assault on the control room >> two betrayals, The pillar of autumn >> the maw. Well there was originally going to be one for the level 'Halo' but due to time constraints they scrapped it. It was going to be about rescuing marines from flood assailed Alpha base. You can find a recreation of that in a mod called Halo SPV3.

Honestly, this story was the best part of The Flood novel. Everything following the Chief pretty much mirrored the game, but the UNSC regulars were up to a lot of interesting things. They even had a lesser advanced AI helping them with operations.

I love that, in lore, Jenkins was a PFC for like 30 years. He's introduced at the start of the war and died on Alpha Halo three decades later. It's *so* absurd.

Remember the epic fights in battlefield.2142 on the mega floating ships? Imagine the same scenario but its in space and its pillar of autumn vs a covenant ship. Onboard humam ship, some few players can play as Spartans and then engineers and pilots and odsts and marines. On covenant ship you have the equivalent.

I wish halo has odsts and officers in multiplayer. They will each 2 sets of abilities. In an ideal halo game Spartans have dual wielding and health regen. ODSTs have continuous threat scanning and can go into prone position. Officers have the ability to give commands and have boosted weapon accuracy. Elites have health regen and dual wielding but the shield can take more damage than Spartans but recharges more slowly.

Fun fact : the humans in pillar of autumn were the best of the best. Every soldier were hand picked for the ship before the fall of reach. Hence why they put up a hell of a fight.

Jenkins lore isn’t that long buts it’s definitely deep and horrendous bro is left mostly conscious during the infection because of the infection form being weak already when it took him and was constantly fighting for mental and physical control (I don’t remember how long but was terrible the whole time) and was constantly trying to commit suicide before marines saw him acting irregular and captured him when he tried having them kill him. He did his best to give as much information as possible and gave us good insight on how the infection form really burros into your mind and high jacks you then after begs to be mercy killed which his allies finally oblige to
