This is a bit late I know, and ironically the first two comments I read is about what I was going to comment on. Chiefs look at the end there really caught my eye also, but I took a different read on it. I'm a similar age and I thought it was the look of a man who remembers exactly what that feels like and feels it everytime.

He was excellent .. he got distracted only once just b4 that Sidebottom mark.. he sort of muffed the initial commentary but he recovered very well in the lead up to that freakish goal

Yeah, and as a Pies fan I 100% agree with him. I was shouting at the TV for him to find a lead. When he kicked it I was certain it wasn't making the distance. And when it did I was in shock. Pretty sure he has never kicked that distance in his life.

I've been to games as a neutral observer and been bombarded some of the worst vitriol, I've lived in a few states and there is no moral high ground in this discussion. Most (I'd say upwards of 90%) don't even know why they hate Collingwood, if you ask them directly you will get some bullshit mumbled dribble made up on the spot. It's actually a perpetuation of the 20's and 30's when they won all the time and the suburban teams where very tribal.

Magnificent call Gents for an absolutely bloody marvellous AFL Grand Final. The best since '89 Hawthorn hung on against Geelong. Bloody good call all. Carn the Hawks in 2024.

Of course as we know, it had to clear the pack .. so it's sailed 56 + metres you'd think. Sidebottom has been a shining light and ornament of the game, understated but has reached the pinnacle.. He is in the twilight of his career. Now he rightly can be called an elite player. What many don't know is that Sidey won a number of those pre season time trials.. There is no doubt that his hard work paid off in matches when his massive aerobic capacity saw him prevail against opposition players in those big matches. Wonderful effort Sidey.

@@angussymons You can clearly see the joy when Charlie kicked that goal (which was a great goal) vs when De Goey straight after kicked one and when Steele kicked one. I think a lot of people tipped us to win, but wanted Brisbane to go all the way.

Yeah, they don't have a lot of time, it's basically shoved into an envelope that has to be delivered to the person reading it out - you literally have about 5 minutes to get it all collated. Darcy was also the chair, which might have been why he seemed to write so much. In the event of a tie, if two players have the same number of 3 and 2 votes from the judges, the chair is meant to determine the winner. He might have been writing a few other players he thought played well after his votes so that if there was a tie between players he didn't rank, it's still clear which order he'd have put them into.

Jason Dunstall one of the better special commentators. Knows when to shutup - unlike those flogs on Channel 7. Even Nathan Brown was very professional about the "advantage" call.

Loved the win..just want to know after the dust settles, whats wrong with Darcy Moore .. He played poorly on GF day . He tapered right off before that. It to me is not just due to a hand injury.And what is wrong with that hand?.There seems to be other issues .. like a complete lack of confidence, and a sense he is distracted by other things. His possessions very low for many weeks before and during the finals .??????

If Collingwood lost, questions would have been asked. He dropped a fairly regulation intercept mark with about 1:40 to go against GWS, which would have almost iced the game. Instead Collingwood created about 4 stoppages to just hold on. Agree. Great year overall but very disappointing throughout the finals
