My favorite character is Usopp, the guy he defeated was one of the strongest Fishmen there and after pretending to die he seriously consider leaving the fight, but he comes back because he wouldn't be able to face his friends if he did. Fishmen are monsters with an incredible force, and so are Sanji, Zoro and Luffy. Everytime Usopp decides to fight those kind of monsters he is putting his life on the line. He is the more relatable character.

Some other reaction channels have watched just the anime episodes this live-action season covered. Which is an idea, about 45 episodes, but they are only 20ish minutes or so each. It's really not that much, and you'll really enjoy it. The major things that happen will still happen, but you will see differences which can be fun, and some of the things the show didn't have time to cover. Like Usopp's crew. Anyways, good luck fellas.

The plot of what's coming in season 2 is gonna blow a lot of people's minds. They made a good job in this season to weave together a narrative and threat throughout the show leading to Arlong, when the original was a little more of a series of self-contained arcs (one per island). However they've already planted seeds for the next big saga in this season, and the main villain of the next arc is far more despicable than Arlong. And is till many people's favorites from the anime/manga

One of the things about Taz Skyler as Sanji is that Adam is correct, this is the extremely toned down version of his womanizing lol. In the anime and manga he's absolutely constantly running around with heart eyes and a nosebleed, and subsequently gets ignored or bonked on the head. So the fact that he's genuinely suave and handsome here makes the strike outs way funnier IMO 😂

they cut a lot of the context around ussop's arlong park fight (understandably for time) but I do feel like the context is a bit lost that though he just takes out the one guy, that guy was one of arlong's lieutenants - similar to Kuroobi, the fishman karate martial artist guy that sanji and zoro team up on in this - so he's meant to be tougher than the regular fodder getting knocked out left and right

What it would take to get you guys to watch the anime? 1000 episodes? Yeah, whatever. That's called reliable content. Reacting sounds like it's an easy gig, but you have to rely on quality content being produced that is currently relevant enough to ensure views, or already aired content that has an enduring fanbase to bring in views One piece has both; it's going strong at almost 30 years old and almost 1110 chapters, and it's fanbase is only growing. If you watch 2 a week you still have more than 5 years worth of content you generally just don't have to worry about. Commit to watching up to where the live action leaves off (about 45 episodes I think) and if you're into it then you keep watching

Everyone apart from Luffy and Gol D Roger are dismissive of their posters and always destroy them. Roger can't interact with his cause he is cuffed but his expression is indifferent like the bounty is nothing special. Which is amazing. Im sure its already been asked but even if you dont react to the anime, (at least watch it in your own time, at your own pace, and tbh, thats the best way to take it in) maybe consider reacting to all the openings. The sheer girth of the series is so immense you'll mostly forget all the visuals by the time you get to said parts in the anime. Also, a bunch of the earlier openings dont give away much of the plot, probably up to opening 8-ish. They start to play with adding in plot snippets in the openings around there, but definitely 12/13 is when they start the typical anime opening that spoils a bit sorta scenario. Also it'd be such a joy to see Jay react to all the wacky shit the crew gets up to.

Even if you aren't going to do the One Piece anime on the channel, maybe give a fan video called 'The Breathtaking World of One Piece' a watch. It doesn't have any notable story spoilers; it is just all sorts of vistas of the One Piece world as the story progresses. You'll have your mind blown.

So you don't get overwhelmed I'd suggest maybe taking in some of the movies. They're usually stand alone so you don't need to have watched the whole series to understand them.

Don't blame Jay for being scared of watching the one piece anime but trust me when I say that if this live action was able to get you in the feels you aren't ready for the anime or at the very least the Manga as it gets even more better that'll get you hard and unexpected in both humor and sadness. I highly recommend watching the anime or reading the Manga as they both have pros and cons . If you can skip most of the fillers (I think there's like maybe 100 last time I checked but can be wrong out of around 1100 eps) but being able to witness the way the voice actors brings the characters to life in the anime along with the way the music comes in at key moments like in back stories and as a nice bonus watching the way the animation has changed throughout these last 25 years as it gets better the more you watch the anime than give the anime a try and I'm sure there are people that if you ask the community can give you an idea on what eps you can skip called "one pace" . If you don't wanna watch the anime but just wanna focus on a more streamline story and witness the creativity of Oda's art style then the Manga would be great for that option. Either way hope Jay or you both do give it a chance even if you don't do a reaction that's perfectly fine with me cause it's that worth it . Also don't feel like you have to do either and you rather stay on the live action only that's completely good too , the important thing is you guys are having fun with the characters and story............... one piece at a time XD sorry not sorry teehee.

I find it interesting that they said “every creature has a weakness”….when they didn’t find a weakness. This line would’ve worked better when they get to Alabasta.

Arlong's weaknesses here were his ambition and mindset
@Hawkcam1996

@@second1387 But those aren’t *combat* weaknesses. Tactical weaknesses, sure, but not combat. Unlike Crocodile, who has the combat weakness of being vulnerable to water attacks.

@@Hawkcam1996 well that's still a weakness though. Luffy mentioned that he won't hesitate when he finds his weakness. That's why when he found out that he can destroy the maps that contained Arlong's ambition knowing Arlong won't have it back without Nami, he did not hesitate to do it.
@Hawkcam1996
@Hawkcam1996 2 ай бұрын
@@second1387 But again, that’s not a combat weakness. That doesn’t help him win the fight. That’s why there was never any mention of a weakness in the original version. Because destroying the maps had nothing to do with a weakness, it was for *Nami’s* emotional benefit, not for the sake of defeating Arlong. Defeating Arlong is just something that ended up happening as a result of destroying the entire building in the process of destroying the maps. That’s why I think the creators of the live action version misunderstood the significance of Luffy destroying the maps. Just like they didn’t understand the significance of the villagers knowing about Nami’s deal with Arlong all along. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the live action version is bad in any way whatsoever. I absolutely loved it. I’m just saying that some of the writing could’ve been better. That weakness line just feels so out of place because it doesn’t belong in dialogue that refers to defeating Arlong. Luffy never needed a weakness to defeat Arlong, he just needed the proper motivation. Just like in the Water 7 Saga, he lost his first fight against Rob Lucci because he didn’t yet have the right motivation until he learned the truth about why Robin betrayed them. It should be the same here. They did take heavy inspiration from the Water 7 Saga in this after all, so why not use that motivation factor here as well?

@@Hawkcam1996 well I do kinda agree with you because I prefer the original version rather than the LA (Because the reason Luffy wanted to destroy the maps is more focused to free Nami rather than defeating Arlong which I think the opposite happened in the LA). But I think the LA just wanted to show that the weakness of Arlong allowed Luffy to defeat him not physically but rather mentally because Arlong always thought that his species were perfect. That's why from the realization of, "You'd be nothing without her.", Arlong's pride was shattered and even got more shattered when Luffy started destroying the maps. So it's like seeing all his hardwork, thoughts and ambition be gone before the moment he himself got destroyed. So for instance, Luffy defeated Arlong mentally before physically and that's a satisfying factor for the audience especially newcomers because that's a karma for what Arlong did the same thing with Nami (Arlong also defeated her mentally). Also considering the fact that this version of Luffy is kinda weaker than his original counterpart, this is a blast for the audience especially the newcomers seeing Arlong enraged. Although the Gum Gum Gatling and Battle Axe came from nowhere, that just added the hype when seeing Arlong got destroyed along with all of his works. So in conclusion, I think Luffy can really beat Arlong with that Gum Gum Gatling and Battle Axe all along but that 'weakness' of Arlong allowed him to have a meltdown and be defeated mentally or even emotionally as well
