I am so glad i found your channel, how this video has not got 500,000 views/likes is beyond me ! Everything about your videos i have watched thus far as underlined with the comments previously made below, their just not good, their outrageously good, as someone else commented, your channel and its quality of content is miles ahead of the rest.......... keep doing what your doing Samson. As you inquired, yes i changed the oil on my Nissan Qashqai last week together with the gearbox oil and changed out a damaged AC radiator and also changed the radiator at the same time, swapped out the AC dryer ready for our holiday this coming saturday to Narbonne in the South of France (its only a 2hr 30mins) from where we live !!! Now i just have to buy an FJ !!!!! Love you guys.

Sorry it took so long to get back, but I'm in BC right now setting up to film for the next 2 months so I can have more of this type of content to release later on! I hope that you had a good holiday - one day I will visit France!

This was incredible. I need to take my FJ there and spend a day or three. Most epic camping spot so far didn't have a name but it was a fire road into a Red Wood forest. With the towering trees over head and no light pollution to hide the stars, it was a novelty moment. Best solo camp I've ever been on. This trip was what convinced me to get a dual battery and solar setup to run a fridge so I could stay longer in places like these. BTW, glad you kept the FJ its timeless and an enabler.

I love this video. Your “look at this” and “look at this!” Brought back some deja vu. I also have an fj cruiser and it’s taken me to some of the most amazing places. Nothing like what you guys do but places that made some serious memories for me. I remember my wife always looking at me like I was crazy for staring out the window screaming “look at that!” just like you. 😂😂 the camera doesn’t do it justice sometimes which is why I’m so thankful for my fj and all the places it’s taken me that I never would’ve known existed. Yes I do basic maintenance myself. Also, the Fumoto oil pan drain valve had made life much easier. I have the RCI skid plate that has a cutout for the drain plug area so everything works out great. I am proud to be one of those who watch the entire duration of your videos. The scenes are amazing, and the editing and color grading is top notch. You just sadly are living in a world people tend to be more interesting in superficial stuff and avoid think or go further. So while I feel sad that your videos don’t get enough likes, I also feel like a different platform might be needed for people like us to share this kind of storytellings. As a product designer I feel sad to see that the majority just want things to be effortless and digital. I really enjoyed one of your previous snow episodes which you kinda discussed about the reason and meaning of intentionally unplug from the people network and enjoy the nature in the most analog way.
@stokedtour
@stokedtour 2 жыл бұрын
Really appreciate all that...it's honestly comments like this that help me realize that there are still people that want what I'm trying to do here, and it helps keep me motivated. Especially the point of view of a product designer. You're right - the video formats that are favoured these days are those of TikTok and short video formats, which directly contradict KZfaq's algorithm of preferring long video formats. It was so bad that it forced KZfaq to create its own silo of videos called "Shorts" that are handled so differently from the rest of KZfaq. There are a few KZfaqrs out there that have found success with videos that are similar to my style, so I hope that one day we can get there too. I'm happy you enjoyed that ASMR piece 😌 I don't like the direction that social media video is headed for all the points that you mentioned, and I really hope that something changes.

Oil Chanes? One of the reasons that I bought my 08' FJ was because of the ability to change the oil filter from above. If you buy the pump, you can do a full oil and filter change without ever getting under the vehicle. I see bizarre parallel between the FJ and the Dehaviland Beaver (Airplane). You can add oil to the engine of the beaver from the cockpit. I love my FJ.

@stokedtour
@stokedtour 2 жыл бұрын
Okay so there was already another comments about the plastic housign and I got so confused that I had to look it up. Seems like 07-09 models have the oil filter up top and it's a canister filter. Mine is an 09 and it's all metal for me. I'm guessing 10-14 FJ's have the oil filter at the bottom with the drain plug??

@@stokedtour Yes, later models have the filter underneath, some had plastic housings and some had aluminium housings with an unternal cartridge filter. At least here in Australia.

I have a white 2011 FJC similar to yours. Im in Oz so I watch 4WD247 and saw them to the similar side wall repair. Yes, I change my own oil. Its a bit harder with the Kaon 4mm bash plates, but I prefer the protection. I modified my oil filer and changed it out to an aluminium canister housing instead of the factory plastic housing. From memory I think the housing was a corolla part and I had to install the centre tube from the FJC plastic housing into the new Aluminium housing. Much more durable in my opinion. I watched this video on my TV and the scenery was amazing. What a memorable trip. Keep up the good work and maybe take a second FJC for safety and additional entertainment. Loving you work!!

Glad you enjoyed it! Also first person to respond so far about 4WD 24/7. Oz looks so fun, will definitely visit one day. Also - the FJC has a factory plastic housing as base? I swear mine is all metal..🤔

@@stokedtour In Oz the part of the filter that screws off and contains the filter core is made of plastic. Maybe we got a cheaper version or its a year model difference? 4WD24/7 is a great program although they wheel a little too hard for me. Bigger budgets and they gotta keep it entertaining I guess. Message me if you ever make it to Oz. Maybe do some wheeling?
