So this week, I completely scrapped my idea and fleshed out a new scene... and today on stream I'll continue to build things out in Unreal Engine 5.3. We'll get into some troubleshooting Q&A and probably do a few (handstand)pushups. Lets work on some art together!

hi Clint. Why are you giving us the freedom to use assets? this will not express the quality of ourselves at all. I refused to use any assets in my clip from the challenge. But i did everything including the grass. That means I have indeed been dealing with serious challenges getting to where I am now. How can I appreciate you for using Megascan assets. What am i looking at and is made by you ? The render? This is again not you is your GPU Performance. So how are we making ourself to feel valuable?

This is a learning challenge, its made for all levels from beginner to pro.. It's meant for learning some new tricks and being part of a cool montage at the end. Limiting to no assets is a great way to stop alot of people joining and limits a heap of creative freedom in the project. Also, how would you police that? It would be crazy hard to moderate.

Asset usage doesn’t replace creativity but creativity can be enhanced with assets. The creativity will be visible regardless of whether assets were used. So whether assets should be gatekept is not a particular productive point - others already pointed out it’s difficult to know whether assets were used or not. Besides, if you can make something good, you can do it in less time now

I, for one, love this. I've had a dream for years to actually have a reason to learn blender. I've not achieved much yet, in fact, i just now feel confident enough to actually try. - After three weeks of 5 hour days, every day. I'll probably be too late to put in an entry. I'm trying nonetheless. Not a single ounce of prior knowledge. Using assets i might be able to put in something decent, not to win, but to participate, and maybe, juuust maybe is there a chance for me aswell. At the very least i got a good experience, not tainted by fools (mostly). If this challenge is too "easy" for your high horse, or you are scared to not be in the top 100 because everyone's got a chance to do something cool, grungy, silly, explorative, innovative or otherwise not to your liking, maybe you should consider not writing stupid questions and just have fun like you're supposed to.
