Hazbin Hotel is an American adult animated musical comedy television series created by Vivienne "VivziePop" Medrano. The series revolves around Charlie Morningstar, princess of Hell, on her quest to find a way for sinners to be "rehabilitated" and allowed into Heaven, via her "Hazbin Hotel", as an alternative to Heaven's annual "Extermination" of souls due to Hell's overpopulation. The series is produced by SpindleHorse Toons in collaboration with A24, Amazon Studios, and the animation studio Bento Box Entertainment.
The popularity and success of the pilot allowed Medrano to create a spin-off series called Helluva Boss, which premiered on October 31, 2020. The series features a different cast of characters within the same in-universe setting.
As of January 2024, Hazbin Hotel was the largest global debut for a new animated series on Prime Video. In February 2024, the pilot episode surpassed 100 million views on KZfaq.

Yes, Helluva Boss! The pilot is virtually no longer canon, but does provide some vital information. The final 5 episodes of season 2 will be spread out over the rest of the year. Hotel focuses more on female/female relationships, helluva focuses more on male/male relationships. You should be prepared for angst to start towards the end of season one when the show starts to streamline the plot into a more focused topic.

I haven't seen anybody notice this when seeing Carmilla's explanation of what happened on extermination day: She didn't know she could kill exorcists. She said she was planning to "buy time for her daughters to get away." She wasn't planning on surviving that. Her daughters were in danger, and she was 100% ready to die for them on the spot

4:28 this is a reference to how rosie knows, but alastor doesn't, that he is asexual. He just thought that he hadn't found a woman to love, yet. Rosie can tell, but alastor is still an ace "in the hole", not acknowledging it, because when he died, in the swinging 1920's, aro and ace are not labeled, thinking they had not found the one to love.

Also based on the context of Rosie’s quote (saying he couldn’t possibly be *dating* Charlie since he’s ‘an ace in the hole’) and Vivienne’s words on why she won’t confirm or deny his supposed aromanticism being “I don’t want to ruin anyone’s fun” makes it pretty clear he’s meant to be aromantic as well as asexual

There's a sketch viv did with angel, chatlie and alastor. Each have a heart above their head color coded to their pride flags. Angel's is rainbow for gay, charlies is the bi flag colors, and alastors is grey, black, white and purple for asexual, but not the green that indicates aromantic @@echolynn13

Lucifer only got involved with the extermination because Razzle or Dazzle died as a sacrifice (sacrificial lamb) and that Adam went after Charlie and harmed her. Charlie was supposed to be safe from the extermination because she was born in hell and not a human soul that died and went to hell. Also i think Nifty is a fallen overlord like Husker.

As an update on season 2, in recent interviews the voice of Charlie said the voice actors wrapped season two, but it still needs to be animated. According to the creator (Vivienne) it’ll be at least another year from now but she assures that the wait won’t be as long as fans waited between the pilot and the series. Fun fact: the only reason Lucifer took so long to get to the fight was that it would go against his deal with heaven to protect the sinners. But, since Charlie was hurt (which broke the angels half of the deal) he could actually join in :

If you want more adult animation with great music, I can recommend the Legend of Vox Machina. It's not a musical, but there's still a bunch of good songs in there. Two seasons out so far, with a third one being worked on right now, and possibly two more coming (though not confirmed). It's based on a very popular DnD stream, but I don't want to spoil too much because I love seeing people go in completely blind and be surprised at every turn.

That s reason w Lucifer has shows up after Dazzle's death. @undertone90 Razzle and Dazzle They're just toys that Lucifer gave life to, sothey have no souls and don't get an afterlife. Charlie's Canon age is 200 years. #Theory/Oficial lore Charlie wasn't first children of Lilith and Lucifer but they all born death. @ LadySygerrik Some stories of Lilith have her cursed with the inability to have children, with all of hers being either born dead or dying shortly after being born. It could be Charlie isn't their first child, just the first one to survive. @Valentino simp If we learned anything from Helluva Boss, it's that Vivziepop love morbid backstories soooo @CrazyRani247 I heard that Vivz even confirmed that Charlie was fathered by Lucifer, because of the abortion curse. I can only assume that this led to some tension between Lucifer and Lilith and I wonder if that was part of why they broke up. I too am HELLUVA SUS from Lilith. Even before the end of this episode.

You should watch helluva boss next!!! It's set in the same hellaverse as hazbin hotel but focuses on the hellborn and the other rings of hell (human sinners can't leave lucifers pride ring as part of his punishment for giving eve the apple, only allowed to see the bad humans chose with free will). This is evidenced by the side of the mail van charlie rides in the pilot says helluvapost and one of the characters (Loona) in helluva boss is shown watching Charlie's interview with tom and katie about the hazbin hotel

Still find it funny he is calling Alastor the "dad that stepped up" when he literally this episode made Charlie make a deal with him before giving her the info she needed. I’ve seen a lot of people say that if you like this, you might like helluva boss- and from a person who’s watched both shows, there’s a few reasons some might not like Helluva Boss because it’s really not like Hazbin hotel. It’s a lot dirtier, there really isn’t much plot, like it’s there, but it’s not there. It’s a good show yes but it’s not for people who aren’t big on a dirtier and more- idk how to describe it but they use words that we can’t say sometimes- it’s just more suggestive I guess when it comes to language. I’m not saying don’t watch it, just heed the warning that these shows are very different even though they are in the same universe. I enjoyed watching this video lmao💚💚

It’s a lot more crass, and the plot is slowly coming together. Unlike Hazbin who had their plot somewhat carry over from its Pilot, Helluva Boss’ pilot is completely irrelevant now besides introducing the main characters

Helluva is very good, many have ended up liking it even more than Hazbin Hotel after giving it a chance. Regarding the plot, Helluva is a Character-Driven Story so obviously it's not going to be anything like Hazbin in which the plot is a little more important than the characters. I like Hazbin a lot but my favorite is Helluva because of how well written the characters are and how the plot has been progressing.
