I’ve got to get back to work I I’ll finish this one later but can I just say If I’m not wrong you two are the first KZfaq sailing channel you guys started it all for us 👏👏👏👏 I don’t know about my favourite video but the one I always remember is the day the cat went missing !! And all ways how you are with children and community’s ❤

Yes, I believe we were the first "KZfaq Sailing Channel", but been cruising for a lot longer. I'll never forget our Millie going missing either! Visiting and spending time in new communities is what it's all about for us. 🙏👍 Liz

As the late Tina Turner said, you guys are “Simply The Best”. You were the reason we chose to follow you onto our 48 ft yacht. Enjoy your lives together. PS Moon and I are now officially engaged and about to head off on three weeks around the southern islands of Phuket, from Ko Yao Yai thru secret beach, Ko Lanta, Ko Muk and down to the Butangs. Omgoodness, my darlings, I can remember watching you with my 'sofa crew', sooo many years ago, sailing with 'Captain Millie' (RIP❤)! It seems just like yesterday 😊 Totally bonkers how time flies! I wouldn't, however, turn back the clock, despite heartbreaking family losses, etc, because we are in the 'here and now', and time doesn't stand still for anyone, thank goodness, otherwise we'd really be in a totally weird situation 🤭😊🤣 All my love and best wishes to you both, Claire, and the newer adopted 'sofa crew', Berlin 😘😘😘

We were in the Maldives five months in 2009- we missed you! We experienced a 16m swell (height of my mast!) coming back from Chagos- talk about character building!

❤ you guys Sorry for the spam like but I subscribe/like/watch through over 200 sailing channels. I don't usually watch through your and others' lives' as they run a little longer and though very honest and informative an hour long podcast has my own sailboat saying in my head, "heeyey, I need some attention too, eh?'" Question for you two: do you think a line cutter on the prop shaft would have helped much in India when you guys were approaching Mumbai? I’m thinking about installing one and wonder if they work well.

At that stage we had one (came with the boat) but when it gave up, we didn't replace it. It wouldn't work with some of the huge nets you come across out there, but good enough for the odd line. 🙏 Liz

Yes, easy in those days. We were going to nip across to Syria from Cyprus, but ran out of time. I still regret that. Liz 🥺

Cheers to many more! 🍹 BTW: Another channel managed to stay in Saudi on their passage north last year, but it wasn't exactly a glowing endorsement: authorities who seemed unsure of what to do with them, locals harassing/extorting them every time they anchored, entire areas of coastline off-limits, and staying in the mall and Starbucks while on land...😅 Apparently a large marina there was enticing KZfaqrs to stay there as a form of free advertising, but they just don't have the facilities yet. Frankly, they want mega yachts and millionaires, not sailors who want to explore.

I'm amazed you can now anchor on the Saudi side, when we were there they'd shoot at you. It must be stunning and unspoilt. Yes, I'm sure they would have had a lot of attention, that's normal in private/military-controlled areas. If you want to go there, you have to jump through their hoops with a smile. It was like that in Eritrea, but worth the hassle. Thanks for your comment. 🙏 Liz

Aha, I see the confusion. We're celebrating 17 years of sailing and living aboard, those guys are celebrating 17 years together (most of which is not on a sailboat). We've had 20 years together, with no intention of getting married unless the taxman thinks it's a good idea! 😁🎩 Liz
