You can import a Chang Jiang R71 copy you give them to specifications that you want and they will get one out of a warehouse they have 10 million of them in stock they will have people hand polish every part you want polished they will tear the engine apart to the bear cases and build it back up again they will custom paint it any color you want and the dealer in the states that you order it from will handle the paperwork for you to have a title in your state but like a gyro they are not a high-speed motorcycle they're not fast but like many flobikes they have more Smiles per miles

Many years ago, I was doing a contract for a company that had just opened a plant in China. A few months on and one day I heard the sound of a sidevalve engine through my open office window. Sure enough, there was an elaborately painted Chang Jiang 750 with sidecar. I rushed out to speak with the guy. He had just returned from working at the Chinese plant and had brought it back as a souvenir. When I asked how he got it through customs and plated here in Canada, he just smiled and said there are ways... I always suspected that he passed it off as a vintage BMW.

The Chinese purchased equipment and tooling to build KMZ Dnepr K750 motorcycles. They didn't copy it. They just continued production of a motorcycle KMZ stopped producing. KMZ updated the design of Dnepr motorcycles with a swingarm rear suspension and an improved overhead valve engine. KMZ was located in Kiev Ukraine and built military grade motorcycles for the Soviet Union and foreign military sales. Ural Motorcycles were built for the civilian motorcycle market's. In the later year's before the collapse of the Soviet Union KMZ asked for and received permission to sell motorcycles to civilians, which they did despite the much higher cost of the military grade motorcycles KMZ produced because they would hold up to extremely harsh conditions that would destroy the lighter built Ural motorcycles.

@n4zou 2 жыл бұрын
@@robertwoodliff2536 after finding and buying a KMZ Dnepr sidecar motorcycle in a barn where it sat 27 years I started doing research on the history of it and other Soviet Union vehicles. Using Google to translate Russian to English and simply reading about what happened. Also in the process of restoring a new 47 year old motorcycle I watched a lot of Russian and Ukraine KZfaq videos of those guys doing what I was doing to mine. I don't understand the language but being a mechanic just watching was good enough. I also translated the paperwork I found in the sidecar trunk. The bike left KMZ and put in storage in 1974. It sat there until the collapse of the Soviet Union and was pulled out of storage after 20 years and shipped to Alabama in 1992. The person that ordered it couldn't work on it and no one here would do that knowing nothing about it. Then I got it. I'll work on anything including stuff I've never seen before so I had no problems completely restoring it. Parts are easy to get and are inexpensive too. It just takes a while for them to show up after ordering them. It's actually a good reliable motorcycle after rectifying poor factory quality problems and 47 years of sitting around unused. By the way, KMZ stands for Kiev Motorcycle Factory. The Soviets refered to vehicles by the three letters used in naming factory's. It sorta like how we refer to Chevrolet and Ford motor companies.

A lot of Japanese bikes in particular, but also other vehicles, were produced with the co-operation of the original manufacturers, and those origins remain despite the later severing of connections. Why is the Armed Police bike painted red, you may wonder. CAPF (China Armed Police Force) is the fire service, in its many forms.

Not once since black powder has an original creation come out of China. Everything they make is reverse engineering from someone else's design, usually without permission and always with inferior materials. As just one example, Fairbanks Morse lost their entire Pentair pump division to Chinese I.P. theft. It's a disgusting practice, completely without honor.
