@@Oshold Yes, it is likely that Napoleon already knew after the battle of Smolensk that going on to Moscow was a gamble with the odds of success stacked heavily against him. I think he knew this even when he was 250 miles away from Moscow. By the time the battle of Borodino was over, it was probably already too late to avoid a massive retreating defeat back out of Russia.

@Грабли Истории I watched the napoleon 3 hrs episode and searched everywhere to find a song... it turns out to be the 2nd one on this best of compilation: "agent". The soundtrack is great, thank you 😅👍👏👏
