It’s 1903, and an out-of-work doctor, Horatio Nelson Jackson, is fiercely defending the world’s most exciting invention - the automobile - against a group of men who are POSITIVE that the car was just a fad. Jackson was so sure of himself that he bet $50 that he could take a car from San Francisco to New York City… a feat that had never been done before. Yes, he was going to embark on a road trip at a time when there were no highways, no road maps, no street signs, no gas stations, and no Red Roof Inn’s. Was the automobile even capable of such a journey? How would Horatio Nelson Jackson, an altogether inexperienced driver, complete this treacherous mission? And would he ever see that $50 again? Today on Past Gas, the story of the first cross-country road trip.

Are the cameras ever coming back for past gas? It really added a lot to the podcast format and kept things more interesting and engaging.

Yeah, I wish it did. The amount of work/editing to keep them in compared to the amount of views/attention was cited as the reason they have been removed. Unfortunately, in their eyes it's just not seen as worth it

They should color the voice waves so you know which one is talking for new viewers and I just feel like it should be separated lol

No because of over worked editors or something. That was their reason behind it. They don't want to deal with having to sync up the footage.

LMAO Joe, my 370z just lost clutch in the middle of 43rd in an intersection downtown Houston and I jumped out and looked at it, kicked the door and said "you really gonna do this to me right here in front of everyone?"

Former NorCal, been living in Mountain Home, ID for 3 years. The sunsets here are phenomenal! No mountains or buildings in the way so we get the beautiful orange sky at sunset

Funny how the people complaining about cars and road infrastructure not being able support them back then sure sound a lot like the people complaining about electric cars now.

"past gas podcast, it's about cars it's not about farts"... Somebody needs to tell that to our boy Nolan Sykes, something tells me that he lets out some absolutely nuclear stinkers in the studio after a night of playing PlayStation while consuming an entire Taco Bell 12 soft taco party pack and three bean and cheese burritos by himself.... For Christ's sake no one between all the Taco Bell and the chef boyardee raviolis that you wrap up in tortilla shells you should be ashamed letting out those squeaker farts in the office... I feel bad for Jeremiah Burton, Zach Jobe.... And the one I feel worst of all for having to smell it is James, James is a national treasure and if anyone should be allowed to let out those stinkers it should be him not second tier Nolan Sikes... Lmao 😆
