I just talked my brother in-law to get one for his 2024 Raptor, the turds stealing cars here around Denver can clone a key and have the truck gone in 30 seconds. Why are people crying that this kit is $100?!!! The labour involved in making this kit is probably a few hours, worth way more than $100. Good for this guy for building an effective product and keeping the price down. The chances of someone taking the time to diagnose why a vehicle won’t start while they are trying to steal it are way low, most of these guys spend less than a minute before they move to the next one.

Got mine for my Ram 3500 and so far it’s working great, no issues. Feels safer leaving it in long term parking or at home while on vacation. I know it’s not theft proof, but it’s definitely a theft deterrent, especially if my kids try to use my truck when I’m gone 😂

Love the idea, but not a fan of the toggle. I have had a Kill Switch in my TJ for 10-15 years, forget the name of the company. It uses a magnetic reed switch. You hide it somewhere in the dash or elsewhere and when you pass the magnet by it, it flips the switch and allows the vehicle to start. Nobody can tell/knows where that switch is hidden but you. If you had that option instead of a toggle, I would buy one.

Can you still remote start with your keyfob to warm up the engine? I'm guessing not since it's a kill switch to the starter motor... @41.22Inc.
@4122inc

Unfortunately not. What makes it so effective at keyfob cloners and relay hacking also prevents it from being started remotely. Many of our customers only activate the Kill Switch when they're in sketchy places.

Ok so I have a question. I have a 2015 Jeep JKU with a manual transmission. I’m sure you’ve herd the old saying “if it won’t start, roll start it”. My question is will this kill switch prevent the Jeep from being able to roll start as well or just cut off the battery to the starter?
@Nick-ue7iw
@Nick-ue7iw Ай бұрын
No, since roll starting was something you did if you had no starter. Cutting power to the starter wont fix that. You would need to use a toggle to force the clutch safety on, which would prevent the ignition from activating.
@EliteAutoBody-b6m
@EliteAutoBody-b6m Күн бұрын
If the starter relay is the same as the fuel pump relay, you could just run this to the fuel pump relay. Cuts fuel to prevent any kind of starting whether it be roll start, key start, or hotwire.

Your vehicle is probably detecting the starter is disabled (whole point of the Kill Switch). After you start your vehicle, you can always flip the Kill Switch off, and it should put it back to normal operation (if you need your start/stop feature).

Intriguing; but, how do you run the microswitch attached wire from engine bay into the cabin without making mods to car? How is it completely turnkey if you have to get through firewall?
@4122inc
@4122inc 6 ай бұрын
Most vehicles have a factory firewall passthrough--usually in the form of a rubber plug or grommet. Turn-key meaning all the components are included in the kit; you still need to run the wiring--but we make it as easy as possible. Check out the website and look through the installation for a better idea.

Traditional ways to start the car won't work. Obviously someone tries to steal the car, they have the key or fob. Car won't start, they pop the hood open up the fuse box see this wire on one of the relays they pop it out toss a relay from another spot in it. Car starts gone in 90 seconds extra step. They have a jump wire pull it the relay, to touch 30 and 87 car starts. 3 foot alligator clip wire clip on to the solenoid then touch the other end to the positive. Car starts. If someone wants your car they will come prepared to take it.

Could get a battery main power relay switch...it too is plug and play. The advantage is that it also kills and parasitic draws if you want to store your vehicle long term.
@4122inc

The problem with the battery disconnect method is that it resets a bunch of user settings and clocks (on some vehicles). Also, no power is a tell-tale sign for thieves to check the battery.

The issue with fuel pump cutoffs is that auto thieves don't care about your starter--they can keep cranking it until they burn it out. Disabling the starter prevents this--it just clicks without anything else happening.
