The Spider-Verse arcs from Ultimate Spider-man were probably my favorite part of the show. Sure, they weren't deep or anything, but they were entertaining and risky (not to mention the original Spider-Verse comics weren't much of a masterpiece, either). I think Disney realized their success by not just doing another Spider-Verse the following season, but by doing a pretty similar arc in the third season of Guardians of the Galaxy.

You know, as someone who's always wanted miles to get his own name (in stories where Peter is also alive and spider-man at the same time), I have to agree. Kid arachnid is a terrible name. Don't know what they were thinking with that one. Brooklyn spider-man also works well as a way to distinguish them

I loved the ultimate spiderman spiserverse crossovers, and it was awesome thatthey got Donald Glover to play miles that one time

Having grown up with the original comic, this crossover was hype as hell when I was younger. Although even then spider-girl always got under my skin back then.

I’m not exaggerating when I say Spider-Verse might be the most influential event comic of the last decade. Basically every multiverse adaptation from No Way Home to Crisis on Infinite Earths has used Spider-Verse’s legacy character template in some form.

Regarding the adjacent universes, I feel that it makes a lot of sense. If the multiverse is infinite, then technically that would mean there’d be infinite versions of a single universe. On a side note, a weird idea I had was that if a character met themselves from an adjacent universe, because they’re basically the same entity, they’d merge, although as soon as they met one another they’d be different so maybe not. This multiverse stuff is weird sometimes…

I remember being very excited for these episodes when it was announced. I love Noir and 2099 from Shattered Dimensions and looked forward to their first appearance in a cartoon. In my excitement I did research on the one character I didn't recognize which was Spider-Girl. May Day sounded really cool to me so I was excited to see her appearance. Then was very disappointed to find she was only a genderswap Peter. Additionally, her segment doesn't even have the whole Peter helps the alternate Spider with a problem. There was just no drama in her section. It like she was purposefully written to be the worst one of the six.

I will say this in my opinion, that this whole super flawed it was a sort of safe space cartoon and every arc of ultimate spider-man cartoon felt fresh and even dare I say it fun. I will be excited for across the spider-verse, because that movie will make me love spider-man universe even more.
